A touch of paranoia or a nod towards the fact arsenal are soft as shite these days? Not saying either is right, just playing Devil's Advocate.
Nothing new my man. Been like that all their existence. Cunts to a man, just because their club has money and is now in with Europe's big boys doesn't mean their fans are any classier. Utter scumbags.
I told him he was being paranoid, but he wasn't having any of it. He said they set themselves up like that and Arsenal are always on the receiving end....
The worst thing about being in London is having to deal with these cretins called Chelsea fans. Near the ground yesterday, they had a "team terry" stall (city fans were also wearing "team bridge". Obviously something in the stall caught my attention, a number of scarves with the red hand of Ulster on them, and some convenient bits of orange.
The funniest thing I heard the Chelsea old guard come out with (they were being told to stop singing by the bouncers), their main guy says to another, " oi, remember, I'm number one and you're number 2".

Have to say i missed the challenge and just saw the leg dangling. It was horrible. Shawcross certainly doesn't appear to be a dirty player and looked devastated when he was leaving the pitch. My mate who is in arsenal fan was agro and claiming its no coincidence that arsenal are getting leg breaks. Arsenal showed good spirit to win the game i wondered if they'd cope following the incident.
Also, Chelsea fans are scum. Singing no surrender in tgi's. Cunts.

Pitch looks ok.
COME ON YOU REDS.

I actually feel bad for their fans. They have probably the best fans in the uk and its not their fault that the club has been run by arabic vultures.
-
London Huns one down to Inter. Decent game so far, the huns were unlucky not to have a penalty just before half time. Clear as daylight and should have been a red for the Inter player

I think its ludicrous to deny it, why have your head in the sand about the situation? We are in a complete mess, the players have no fight about them unless its against a team that plays football. There are not many of those in the SPL. Whilst I hope that the rest of the league is just as pish as us and won't put a decent run together, to totally discount relegation is stupid.

I read the comments as...
"blah, blah, blah... excuses, excuses, excuses... get the excuses in early for Saturday... everything is rosy down Pittodrie way"
What a load of shite
Pretty much how I read it too. We've heard it all before. The proof is in the pudding...or in this case, on the pitch.

Stuttgart 1 up on Barca!

Anyone read the times article today? Fairly grim reading as well.

There are shock results in the cup and then there are defeats regularly to lower league opposition and humilation (far beyond that meated out in the SPL) from the likes of united, hibs and killie.
Surely it is not beyond the wits of somebody to do better than this without any extra investment. I mean I could list all the clubs who have got to finals since we last did but it would be quicker saying who hasn't, and several of those have been a good bit worse than we are now.
Sustained improvement in the league however does need investment and without it there is probably only a very small margin of potential improvement on what JC achieved until/unless our youngsters prove to live up to the hype and stick about for a bit.
I can't see that anyone can argue that the club was going stale, that the cup defeats were having a disproportionately big effect on the club and the fans and that realistically JC wasn't going to change that. I would agree with those who say that it was time for JC to go, however the resultant cost has been magnified by the setanta loss and means sacking him was clearly a huge mistake. Having said that JC would not have seen a penny more than MM has this year and we would be having similar arguments, discussion and moans as we have done for the last 3 years which would gradually have worn us down.
Unfortunatley the appointment of MM looks to have back fired badly and his comments re fans and harping on about celtic are as bad if not worse than alot of what JC came out with. I believe he does have a vision for the club that we have seen all too briefly from the team so far this season, but any change is going to take along time to implement (going on the current rate of change).
I suspect we will finish 6th or 7th this year and have to hope that something happens in the summer to reignite the fans. I suspect if JC had been in charge we would be saying something similar but with a slightly better league position and a couple of hundred grand in the bank. Something needs to be done as when so many fans (including myself to a degree) response to last night was "meh, not again" it must be a worrying time for the everyone given the steady decline in attendances.
I have no answers, and more importantly the board don't either. We are where we are. MM will be given more time and we have to hope that something changes. In reality until we finally sort out the stadium issue this club is going no where. I just wish no where didn't involve so many soul destroying performances in the cup (can we just not enter next year?)
Spot on GS. + 1
I've highlighted the bit in bold as its a point I raised before the Hibs game (I think after the Murderwell defeat). The board needs freshening up, some new imput and ideas. I can't see where its going to come from and that is why we are going stale. It doesn't matter who the manager is, this is where the rot first manifests.
Mark McGhee has to stay, I just hope that the board miraculously manages to find some cash to invest, like the managed to find to pay off the Jimmy's and Motherwell. Show us evidence of this "extensive footballing budget". The fans have more than done their bit, now its time for you and the rest of the club to step up to the plate.
COME ON YOU REDS.

That's a fair point to be fair, the ball boys/girls are slow as feck.
-
Blimey tsr! Thats just depressed me further
but i do agree, its hard to see where the spiral will end.
-
I stopped reading half way through. Its a load of bollocks. As you saw tsr, its probably more him trying to say the right thing but no matter what he says, unless its, new stadium is on site next year and i will invest in the team this summer, none of us will be happy.
You could see this performance a mile off.
-
Which makes it all the more frustrating that the club do not appear to act on it. Its the same old problem that has been evident for years.
-
Exactly tsr, they clearly want the cup and somehow managed to stump up the cash to replace a man who wasn't capable of doing so. However as per, the didn't follow it up. We need investment but Fuck knows where its going to come from. Milne is our saviour and oppressor.
-
As has been highlighted by Ajja and Rocket, JC had to go. It was the right decision to get rid of him, just as most of us agreed/debated before the replacement was announced we felt McGhee wasn't the right answer. Obviously none of us want him to fail, and I hope he can turn it around. But the evidence is firmly stacked against him. Nothing has changed, we changed like for like (or even slightly worse off) and we're back where we were last year but with an inferior league position. Sacking McGhee now is not an option, this team needs rebuilding and investment. I just hope the club has the balls to do it, or a steady decline on and off the pitch will continue.
-
Fuck you Aberdeen. What a waste of time, money and emotion the past 6 months has been. Thanks for fuck all.
-
Agree with you tsr. Aluko made no effort whatsoever to track back.
-
The only way we'll lose on Tuesday is with a poor attitude, we're a better team by some distance and will prove it, I hope.
On paper we are, but as you say, it all comes down to attitude, and the consistency of our inconsistency this season, I wouldn't be surprised if we got pumped out the cup. I hope I'm wrong though, because they showed great character coming from 2 goals down.
Re: my point about another penalty decision, was someone not wiped out either just before or just after the penalty we got?
-
Thought McDonald got into some great positions, its a pity he can't put the ball in the net as he would make a half decent striker
Thought the same thing yesterday, well actually. My initial reaction was, how the fuck did whoever miss that??? Then I realised it was him and it all made sense. But the fact remains, he got into a very good position and invariably bottles it!
highlights are up now, I enjoyed them twice over
Paton's strike just gets better and better. I was susprised that the BBC showed the 2nd penalty incident, not like them to show these things even when they are so blatant. They still missed another one I suppose.

When you hit the "quote" button, do you get a green "LOADING" bar at the very top of the screen?
I do, but then when the page loads up, it goes. Its just when the text is larger than the text box. And everytime you type it goes between the point of typing to the middle of the text. Pretty mental and hard on the eyes!
