  1. So have we established it as fact that the club had decided to get rid of JC after the cup game ? Your speculation is based entirely on that premise without knowing if it the case or not. If it were the case, which particular manager do you think would have accepted the role with a handful of games left to play ? I doubt very much McGhee would have. The entire post seems like a moot point to me.
  2. Jesus fuck. You have asked repeatedly for people to give you reasons for their opinion and your responses have been akin to that of a schoolboy. You are turning a tedious debate into an utterly fucked one. If you have nothing of value to say then please spare us this tripe.
  3. While not getting overly excited by the thought of McGhee coming to Pittodrie I think that it would be a decent enough appointment. Its easy to knock the extensive list of candidates being drawn up, I'm pretty sure you could find many reasons why any of them are not the best choice. Unfortunately for supporters of Aberdeen FC there is a good reason for that and its because we don't have the budget or the pulling power that we wish we had. Most of the chat on here over the last few weeks has been laced with romantic desires and, dare I say it, unrealistic expectations. You can discuss ambition or 'next level' as much as you like but the simple fact is that we have severe limitations to what we can guarantee in terms of management. We have two choices in my opinion: 1. We take a risk. A young, inexperienced manager who is at the bottom of a curve and has a great future which we get to enjoy the early years of before he moves onto a bigger club. Dean Windass may be that guy but he might also be a fuckhead who makes an utter cunt of the whole thing. Thats the risk. 2. We go for security. An established manager with a degree of experience. Now in the current marketplace, the more this guy has in his locker the further out of our reach he gets. So we have to settle for a toolbox that fits our level. All pretty straight forward stuff. The other consideration is that in modern football, particularly with provincial Scottish sides, periods of loyalty that stretch more than 2-3 years are uncommon when a player or manager is doing well. This nirvana that a manager could come to Aberdeen and be very successful (beyond stability and credibility) and build us up for years to come is never happening. If we actually found a good strong manager who took us to 3rd in the league and challenging at that end with the OF as well as won us a cup and guaranteed European football then how long do you think he would be our manager ? At this stage in the game, the best I am hoping for is a quick impact manager who can give us a shot in the arm for 2 seasons. If he can straigten out the laissez faire attitude, the drinking culture, the big-time Charlies and bring discipline and professionalism to the players then I am all in support of it. If along with that he can push us on to being a strong 3rd best team with a few finals and silverware then I am all for that too. European adventures every season ? Hell yes. However, if you want to look beyond 2 years after that sort of success then I'm afraid that manager has gone. If you don't believe it then look at UTD. After 2 seasons of 5th place, a cup final and a few impressive score draws with Rangers they have been stripped of their best 2 players by Celtic and their manager is being touted around the press as the next Celtic manager. It may sound like I am settling for too little here but if you don't want to go for option 1 and take the risk (which most seem against) then you have to be realistic about what you can get in option 2. For me, McGhee will give us 1 or 2 very good seasons and then he will either fade away and we will be better for the foot up or he will be prized away. Thats why I am happy enough with him.
  4. I'd say McGhee is 90% certain to be our boss next season. Seems Celtic are not interested in him or they wouldn't be going after Martinez. Just a matter of time.
  5. Pretty much what was being reported on BBC Radio Scotland this morning. McGhee wants to go to Celtic and Aberdeen want McGhee. Whether it has been said or its just speculation it is going to cause some annoyance among our fans. Despite the fact we all know the Celtic job is a bigger role and he is obviously going to want to go there. Also said that Hibs are after Hughes. Moving from Brazil1980 to Brazil1970 could be a big move for him. My Hibs contact, although admittedly not a good one says Calderwood for ER.
  6. 1-1 draw and he was subbed on 60 minutes. Can't find much info on how he played.
  7. I'd take Derry City in that wee bunch
  8. What's to trust or not trust. He isn't our manager anymore. His ability to do any damage is limited and to be honest he is just going to look embittered if he stirs it up. Forget him.
  9. Excellent post JJ Actual facts are always welcome among the hysteria. I assume that revenue might be impacted this season as there have been a few price promotions, possibly more than previous seasons, although I could be wrong on that.
  10. Not impressed. Is that those mentalist GUASC and their hilarious student banter modelling it?
  11. I think too much weight is being put on Jager's attempts at winding people up.
  12. I'll hug you next time I see you mate. I was just having some fun
  13. Fucking fat, orange faced, ball juggling, tumbola turning, cup humiliating, dutch trialist shagging, press spouting fucklet of a fuck. There I said it. Can we pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease move on ?
  14. Never again shall we read these words...
  15. You are probably right. The problem with Scottish football is that in order to see any genuine challenge to the dominance of the OF it cannot happen with one team breaking out in a Hearts-style charge for the front. For there to be real open competition you have to ensure that the OF can lose up to 8-10 games a season in the SPL. Last season they each lost 4 while Hearts lost 11 and we lost 13. No team outside the two is likely to go through a season only losing 4-5 games to keep up so we need them to lose more. This outcome relies on a further 5 or 6 defeats in a season and one team cannot deliver that. You are looking at 4 or 5 teams at least who can take a couple of wins off the OF and that is a big ask. It would mean 4 or 5 teams who were playing a consistently good level of football if they were confident of getting close to beating the OF a couple of times a season. As much as I hate to say it, we need UTD, Hearts and Hibs to be stronger along with us if a challenge for the title is to be seen as even remotely possible.
  16. Its true, thats why. Unfortuately, losing to Dunfermline and Hamilton twice is on a different page of that particular script.
  17. Good on them. Now get the fucking stadium sorted out.
  18. I was referring to Motherwell and if I'd known you were planning to get all serious and shit I would have stuck to my usual lecturing, self-righteous and indignant tone. Sorry
  19. I'd be happy to sacrafice a month every 2 seasons to keep a budding young Nigerian internationalist in our team.
  20. Ajja

    Andy Murray

How many more rounds until the QF in the French ?
  21. Although in fairness did he not write off circa £9m of debt so that Motherwell could be 'debt free' after he had pumped them into administration, albeit after screwing a bunch of players in the process.
  22. There was some horseshit from Boyle about having fought off Hearts last season and being ready to fight us off. He may be ready to dip into his pockets to keep him. He has spent recklessly before.
  23. The Retard were running that one today....I only saw one turned on its front in tescos honest
  24. There is no element of 'depends' for you though as you know exactly who it is
