  1. In hindsight, thanks for that.

I will add 'Troll' to the list of things I have been called during this new stadium catastrophe:

    'Scum'

    'Hun'

    'Fenian'

    'Jimmy Saville Fan'

    'Wifie fae Westhill'

    'Charlie from No Kingsford'

    'Not a Dons fan'

    'Liar'

The list is still growing but thanks for adding to it.

    Cheers now.

Yawn. Try making an actual point.

  2. Fucking awful result, first 10 mins we played exactly as we should have, pressing them every time they had the ball. Downhill from there though.

How that ended up 3-0 is beyond me, massive let down against a very poor rangers team.

    Taylor needs punted, immediately.

  3. That pedro fella is just talking it up, probably trying to get a rise out of both his players and us. See if it'll rattle us. Which it won't. I want us to absolutely break them tomorrow, show no mercy and see their fans leaving in tears. Thanks deek, that's all  ;D

    :haterangers:

I really really really hope we break those delusional useless new team wankers tomorrow. Nothing less is acceptable... finish them off deek

  4. As regards Pittodrie being 'hemmed in' - simply not true.  I drove down to Pittodrie yesterday.  Walked down to RDS and measured how far there is between the start of the RDS and that pavement on Golf Road.

Earlier this week I drove past Tynecastle. In building the HMFC new stand the JT's have much LESS room to develop than Aberdeen FC have.

    :rofl2:

    Aye, of course you did...

  5. Yes, Aberdeen City Council will 'just let Aberdeen FC have a stadium' just because they want to.

    Doesn't work that way mate.

    Fun times ahead.

Because that's exactly what was said of course...

That dreadful pitch is looking particularly good today by the way

  6. C8kDVsuWAAIflzp.jpg:large

Pitch is looking good ahead of tonights game

Apparently if Consi plays, he'll pull level in terms of appearances with Brian Irvine  :o

Pitch in good condition?  :o now there's a turn up for the books  ;)

Considine will be tied 9th on the all time appearances list according to twitter, good on him... can imagine he'll climb quite a bit higher too.

  7. garbage. Charlie Love stood up first at the big "NO" meeting, and spouted a load of hysterical shite, including all of the above, in order to scare the auld fogies into action. Many have put this sort of rubbish in their planning complaint if you care to wade through them.

The various Facebook and twitter pages was also littered with the same hysterical pish, it's been quite sad really.

  8. Stop letting facts get in the way OD :D

It's a real shame nonsense like that and the milne conspiracy pish has taken over this thread, the discussion was pretty well thought out, balanced and informative until then.

Big  to yourself and Tom_widdows on explaining why developing pittodrie isn't feasible anymore, just wish the club would go into the same level of detail to finally put it to bed.

  9. Derek McInnes has on numerous occasions recently made reference to the very poor state of the Pittodrie pitch.  If you go to Pittodrie and have been recently it is in a very poor conditions.

He has amongst others said 'The players deserve a much better surface than that'.

No I have no MP3's to back this up.

The pitch is getting neglected like every other part of the stadium is being neglected.  Lack of investment.

Fair enough, I'll take your word for it given it's looked poor lately.

He's also been quoted in the not too distant past as saying how good a job the ground staff do too thought, considering the club spent a sizeable chunk of money relating the pitch just a couple of years ago I'd say it's unfair to claim the pitch is being neglected to any large degree.

  10. I am not in the habit of fishing out MP3 clippets of audio to back when someone has said something.  In this case that 'someone' being the executives (Milne and Yule) who have in the past said that if the club (AFC) do not move it will be the end of the club and the fans will not have a club to support.

To deny they said this is not right - they said it not me on several occasions and in front of committees.

Who's asked you to provide audio clips? All that was asked was if you had anything at all to back up what you said... yet you've been unable to. If you choose to believe the club are going around telling anyone that'll listen that the club will definitely die if this development isnt approved then thats your choice, it's hysterical nonsense but you crack on.

Just one further point, when has the manager criticized the state of the surface? Thought it was in pretty good nick at the start of the season? Admittedly it was looking ropey after the heavy rain at the start of the year. If you're adding that to the rest of the points you've managed to dream up you crack on.

Meanwhile all the resident delusionalists on here want is 'actual evidence' for the prosecution.

    Gullible idiots.

Imagine that... wanting to form opinions based on actual evidence or facts, it'll never catch on  ;)

  11. I love this thread.  Anything 'negative' in tone to Kingsford gets swept aside as 'just words' or if you state facts or views there are demands for 'actual visible sources' and 'facts' and even when you provide these its dismissed as 'not actually true'.

To say anything negative about kingsford is swept aside etc is pish, you only need to read the replies to see that.

You've also completely avoided posting any facts or actual sources at all, despite having plenty opportunity.

  12. Hi Tyrant,

    Hope well bud.

I have already (on this thread) given 3 quotes from executives at AFC which were 12 years apart.  In each of these quotes (from Mssrs Yule, Milne) they said that the club will 'die' and fans will 'not club have a club to follow' if the new stadiums does not come about.

These are quotes from Milne and Yule (not me) - they said it.

The problem with these quotes is I want to assure you is that there is a difference between words and outcomes.  The club will not die and in fact the club (given there is a 12 year gap between the statements) has never really been in a healthier state.

There is no chance if Kingsford fails the club will die.

    Its called propaganda.

So there you have it, no need to lose patience the quotes already appear on this thread.

That is about the best I can do mate unless you want MP3 recordings of them 'actually' saying these things - is that what you want?

Two of those statements say nothing of the sort and the other is borderline at best. Try reading them properly.

    Tiresome.

  13. It's true that McGinn hasn't had an outstanding game against Celtic of late, but then, who has for us? I don't quite get why he's the one who is singled out for this particular slight.

McGinn is our best player and that we've managed to hold on to him for as long as we have is surprising.  When McGinn is on it, we look like a team who will steamroller the opposition.  This will be where McInnes has to really earn his money, McGinn will be the biggest loss we've had in years in my opinion, but at least the "doesn't play against Celtic" crew will be happy.  Every cloud, and all that...

Hits the nail on the head for me.

  14. I'd agree with that, club never really had things in order and a lot of folk needed convincing. I'd be open to it if they guaranteed a station but that costs a fuck load of money and probably not worth it for shitrail. I just want some training facilities and a new stadium it's gone on far too long.

A believe a new station at cove is proposed as part of the city deal. Whether it happens is a different story, but I'm fairly certain it's been proposed.

  15.

For what its worth Kingsford means nothing to me neither does Loriston means anything and I know lots felt same way.  Basically IMO the club should not be leaving Pittodrie - under any circumstances.  The place needs redeveloped.

Except it can't be, not to anywhere near the level or capacity we need. That's not based on wat the club have said, you just need to read the simply put professional opinions on the couple of people on here with first hand experience of stadium planning/design.

Christ I really wish the club would just release their back up for this as it'll finally put the ridiculous notion that the existing site is big enough for a modern stadium to bed.  :hammer:

  16. To answer ye baith. I'm asking why people were for it, not necessarily why it was better or not for the club. I don't think traffic on Wellington Road was really an issue, given you can go up Wellington Road, up past Northsound or out the A90 and back in past the Loch and the bypass for the teuchters. Also, I don't suppose folk gave a fuck whether it would cost £2M extra or whatever, when you're dealing with such a large figure anyway I don't believe it'd matter to a supporter.

Maybe I'm just forgetting how many people were in favour of Loirston? Maybe a lot of folks were all for it. It just seems there is a lot more support for something that is demonstrably worse, albeit not by much. Could it be, perhaps, that folk were broken by the Loirston plan and resigned to the idea of the new stadium. So much so that when it eventually got scrapped they were just annoyed and willing to accept anything that came in its place? Some sort of stadium-fatigue-syndrome. That's it. I've diagnosed it. You're all sick fucks. Apart from 100%AK, who is eminently sensible.

Aye sorry my last reply was totally off on a tangent. Suspect you're right about the number of folk for Loriston compared to Kingsford, suspect it's now a case of "oh it'll do" as options are pretty much exhausted rather than genuinely favouring Kingsford over Loriston.

Not sure Loriston is demonstratably better than kingsford unless the train station does go ahead, much and such the same for me but agree the station changes it as far as I'm concerned.

  17. But it's nae a much better location though, is it? Perhaps for you, but for the benefit of the club and the city it definitely isn't. I didn't like Loirston, but it's much closer to the centre of town, is actually in Aberdeen and had the potential to be accessed by train. The rest of the factors remain even (bus journeys etc). Given the bypass, it would have added virtually nothing to the journey from those from the North (10 minutes at most along the Southern leg, probably less) and those from the South ten minutes better off.

Really the only difference is the train station potential, which is fairly significant in favour of Loirston I'd say.

It must be more than that. Perhaps the training facilities all being shown in one shiny new development, even though the plan was to build in another location? Perhaps they couldn't see envisage the bypass?

As I say, it doesn't make much sense to me, I dinna get it.

Provided the train station ever materialises then I'd agree Loriston is better. Doubt there's any improvement as far as walking goes despite being closer but a train would swing it.

Would rule out a training facility on site, no big deal from an operational perspective it just means the club would require additional funds.

  18. Looks like McGinn is off, McInnes has been quoted as saying so anyway.

    https://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/fp/aberdeen-fc/aberdeen-mcinnes-mcginn-jack-taylor-tansey/?utm_content=bufferf7929&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer

Derek McInnes has indicating one of his key players is nearing a Pittodrie exit while praising pre-contract signing Greg Tansey.

The Dons are bracing for life without Northern Ireland dynamo Niall McGinn, who McInnes says is drawing English Championship interest.

The manager also confirmed captain Ryan Jack and centre-back Ash Taylor have requested more time to consider their futures.

Speculation has intensified over the future of playmaker McGinn in recent days, with Bolton rumoured to be a possible destination.

And McInnes now seems to resigned to a future without the 29-year-old, admitting “it looks like Niall may be moving on.”

The attacker has scored 12 goals this season and has been an integral part of McInnes’ Pittodrie revival.

As a possible move to offset the loss of the Northern Irishman, the club have confirmed the pre-contract signing of Tansey.

The Inverness midfielder’s arrival was announced this morning and he is set to join the Dons on June 9.

The 28-year-old has long been on the Dons radar, with McInnes adding he was delighted to have completed a deal.

The Aberdeen manager added: “He’s a player I’ve admired for a long time. He’s a brilliant signing.”

McInnes also said there have been no new developments on the futures of Jack and Taylor.

The pair have both been linked with exits as their contracts run down but the manager said they are just staying in a holding pattern right now.

“Ryan and Ash have asked for a little more time” was his response to questions on the duo’s contract renewal talks.

Ahead of tomorrow’s game against Dundee, Aberdeen will be without Jayden Stockley, due to suspension, and Mark Reynolds who is recovering from a hernia problem.

Here's hoping a little more time leaves Jack set on staying.

As for Taylor, well ...

  19. Hopefully not a replacement for Jack but seems to be a good addition to the squad based on the reaction of my Caley supporting mate.

Good to see McInnes getting his business done early and quietly!

Now to get Jack & McGinn  tied up *fingers crossed*

  20. Getting boring now mate.

Milne and Yule have on various occasions stated that the club is going to 'die' if stadiums fails.

Yet you're unable to provide any quote at all from Milne and one from Yule which is nowhere near as strong as you're making out? I wonder why that is?...

I'm going to file this along with the other claims you've made (and completely failed to back up with anything apart from your own imagination) in the folder marked "pish".

You're right though, you are getting boring.

  21. You are genuinely interested are you?

“According to Aberdeen’s major shareholder and chairman, Stewart Milne, Pittodrie is now dragging the club back into the mire. He warned this week that Aberdeen must move – and move soon – or else the club will find themselves “in a very serious situation”. June, 2005.

“If this bid fails and we can’t move, we face severe consequences for AFC.  The negative impact to the region will be very substantial, and not only does the Club face a very bleak future, we also lose the opportunity to develop football in the region.  The people of the region lose an opportunity to have a much needed world class community facility that not only plays a huge part in health and education, but also in attracting and anchoring people to the region” January 2011.

“Aberdeen vice-chairman George Yule has warned the club could go to the wall if the proposed move to a new £50m stadium plan fails”, January 2017.

At what point in the first two quotes does anyone say the club will die? Nowhere from what I can see.

The third one is a headline, if you're genuinely going to use that as an example you could at least use the full quote, not the sensationalist headline.

    http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/aberdeen-could-cease-exist-50m-9723811

"He said: “To be honest, unless we move this club into the 21st century with proper facilities, there's a very real danger those fans walking up King Street in the long term may not have a team to support.

“The way football is going we are either up there as one of the visionary clubs with good facilities, a successful team, or there's a real danger we become a backwater.”

Supporters have watched Hearts and Hibs redevelop their stadiums and have questioned why Aberdeen can not do the same, but Yule explained staying put is not possible.

He said: “Pittodrie is landlocked. We're surrounded by houses.

“The capital cost of redeveloping Pittodrie needs to be paid somehow. The legacy from the sale of Pittodrie will pay almost half of a new facility.

“The playing surface currently does not meet UEFA criteria for European competition. Corporate hospitality at most football clubs is a big deal these days. Ours is wholly inefficient.

“We're putting a lot of money in to stand still. I get the memories, I'm from Aberdeen, I've been to the games here over the years. But we'll never drive forward always looking in the rear-view mirror.”

Mike Rumbles’ claims have been shot down by the club

The plans have been met with opposition, with Mike Rumbles MSP last week describing the transport strategy as “wholly inadequate".

However, the club say the Lib Dems MSP declined an offer to meet with them to discuss his concerns before going public with them.

“This transport assessment hasn't been done in isolation,” explained Yule. “This has been done through consultation with Aberdeen city roads, Aberdeenshire roads, the police, and a whole bunch of very qualified engineers whose day job is all about getting traffic moving.

“Up and down the length and breadth of this country there are sports grounds moving between 30,000 – 70,000 people on match days really without trauma. It'd be a very poor indictment in Europe's oil capital if we couldn't move around an average of 13,500 people every other week.

“It's disappointing, particular as there had been an invitation to the MSPs and MPs in the local area to come to an open briefing with the club.”

Another option for the Dons could be to leave Aberdeen altogether and move to the shire, essentially meaning the city would no longer have a senior football club.

But this is something Yule wants to avoid and he added: “By virtue of the fact we're looking at a facility of circa 55 acres or such, there is not that real estate in what I would call downtown Aberdeen.

“If there were no opportunities for us to find a suitable site within the city, we believe we need to relocate to modern facilities.

“We're not doing this because we think it's nice to have, this is a must."

Now admittedly he does say that if proper facilities are not found then the long term future of the club is at stake, no denying that... it's hardly a hysterical "if the kingsford plans arent passed the club is dying" though is it?

Can you imagine any business being secure in the long term without adequate facilities? Not completely unreasonable to say even if it is probably just a statement to try and pressure those in power towards helping to secure the clubs future.
