As long as it is not passing it from full back to centre half to other centre half to other full back and back again- possession with purpose is needed, not possession for the sake of it to stop the other team having the ball and doing absolutely fuck all with it, until one of said centre backs gives it away and defence is left exposed or retaining possession from a goal kick by having centre back pass the ball along the 6 yard box to Mitov, who is then under pressure to do something with it which he is not very good at If that bio is accurate, he likes possession in the opponents half, not the low block, so that would definitely be a positive

Maybe his departure from St Ettiene was hastened by him applying for the job? May never know- and still not a done deal yet if you had been on the shortlist and waiting a call following interview last week you might be a bit miffed by apparent change of direction

I actually think Lutz has some communication /media training- as BUS has said, he says a lot and the soundbites are what folk want to hear, but actually says very little. I am very sceptical that he is the person that will build the sustainable football structure that we need - I will give him the benefit of the doubt for now as he is only 2/3 months in to a shit show, but be interesting to look back in a year to see how well this has worked

on the recruitment, as others mentioned earlier, moving the choices from manager to DoF without checks being done is asking for trouble genuinely hope the 2 midfielders that have worked with Lutz before are decent and upgrade but apart from them not playing regularly, when was the last time he actually watched them play ? no difference to Thelin taking in Karllson Nilsen Jensen

Not at all- and he might be as big a charlatan, if not the biggest one as the others in our set up- just don’t think this one is on him Jury very much out for me on Lutz

Not sure Lutz can be blamed for this one- wanted away in summer and when it didn’t happen he was frozen out- long before Lutz arrived with no idea who is coming in, guess Clarkson just wants a fresh challenge where he is likely to play every week can’t blame the lad and wish him all the best

The Clarkson one I find most disappointing- never fully recreated the impact he had in the loan spell- very talented player and can argue whether we didn’t properly utilise him or his standards dropped, just wasn’t consistent enough, but sorry it didn’t work out in the end feel with the right manager he could have been a cracking player for us and sure the club saw him as an investment that would bring in large sum after a couple of years

For someone that is challenging punctuation, I am still trying to decipher some of that Neeps I would argue that actual representatives from the club haven’t seen some of these boys play- there may be recommendations from a generic scouting network that we pay like a service provider, but did Jimmy, Garner, Gunn etc actually go see Yengi play or Milanovic play? I'm just interested in the level of checks and balances being done as surely if someone had physically watched these guys they wouldn’t be anywhere near Pittodrie

Slight deviation but still on topic - any idea how many players that we sign / loan we actually watch play? be interested to know; how may are from data models - with a quick view of a “highlights” reel how may are pushed by agents- again with obligatory highlights reel how many - like Lutz signings- are from recommendations from “contacts” how many we physically send someone to look at them, asses their attributes over a period of time, and actually make a decision on from how these guys actually play data may be the future but until you have people that can interpret it, you will throw good money after bad dont have an issue using the data, but some of our signings, if someone told me they had watched them, would be sending them to the SFA to take up a refereeing course

Can we put some pressure on you to perfect the card tricks and you can share with Lutz and the football monitoring board so they can pick the next Joker from the pack that will manage us?

The loan market is generally players that are not getting a game or young players seeking development- for once in the summer we looked as though we had reduced that but unfortunately had to revert back to loan market when it became clear those we signed on contracts weren’t that good or were deemed project players “for the future “ our recruitment has been generally poor for years I don’t hold out much hope for anyone else coming in that will move the needle

The players and all coaches should be offering to reimburse every ticket paid by the fans who were there today whether they travelled 15 minutes like Big Al or from Aberdeen is the least they should do truly abysmal

Fair play to you Orlando and also to Mason- forums are about different viewpoints- and while there are clearly different views on this subject, OD has tried to give a view what he is living and breathing in the states right now- the issues that are affecting him and how it affects his standard of living. What we see here- and depending on network in the states - may be completely different to what particular demographic in the states sees. This country is the same where a particular narrative can be forced through by the media providing it. For what it’s worth, I cannot believe the best 2 candidates in the USA were Trump and Biden / Harris at the last election, but we have no bragging rights for the dross of elected officials in this country. I do believe though that Trump is the most unhinged leader of the “free world” that has been seen in my lifetime on this planet

Agree- Cameron is the younger Armstrong at no 10, not fitting them both in to same team maybe it was just to get another 5 foot 7 player into the midfield to make Shinnie feel taller
