  1. Are we in a catch 22 situation?

JC won't sign a new contract unless the board demonstrate their ambition, in the form of re-signing the 4 "rebels" and giving him transfer funds, yet the players won't sign until JC shows some commitment.

Does JC have a job lined up? Where exactly does he feel he can go that he can achieve as much as he can at afc?

    Deluded manager, deluded players.

I have to say I'm with the board on this one and hope they take a hardline with JC.  He gave the players a deadline, the board should give him one

Nowhere comes to mind straight away but he can pick up a large paypacket elsewhere. If he wants to go then fuck him, no manager/player is bigger than the Dons.

  2. Can you blame Jimmy for being reluctant to sign a new contract? Sure, he's taken the team to phenomenal heights of 3rd place (nearly 2nd, if we'd clung on for a bit longer last season), and now the last 32 of the UEFA Cup.

But still there's a big chunk of fans that just won't turn up because it's JC's team that is fielded. And then there's the fans that moan at every single glitch in his team. I must admit I'm a bit guilty of pointing the blame stick at Jimmy quite often.

But he moved to Aberdeen because he was excited by the prospect of being able to build the club up and get full houses coming in. Well, he's build the club's reputation back up to a level that's not been seen for a decade-and-a-half. But the crowds are still staying away. Infact, our crowd averages are lower than they ever were with Steve Paterson or Ebbe Skovdahl ... and he's achieved a lot more than either of them did.

Maybe he's ran out of ideas and patience in his attempt at luring more fans back to Pittodrie. A move to Hibs would possibly interest him, as there's quite a sizeable kitty there to play with, and Hibs actually have a fully operational youth system ... unlike us whose youth conveyor belt is stuttering and spluttering like Bertha.

    Great post there mate.

  3. I was in Soul bar a few weeks back on a Thursday night and saw him.

As it was only 19:45 I made an excuse to leave the people I was with for 5 minutes, ran accross the road, bought the book then headed back and got Willie to sign it.

  4. Im fucking sick of the likes of Calderwood and Severin sucking up to the Huns and defending them at every turn. After every game we play against the filth, Calderwood is giving it "Big Lee" this and "Wee Stevie" that. "All credit to Ra Gers". Now we have Seve in the link below saying that he is good mates with Lee and he shouldnt have been sent off! Even though he blatantly kicked out at him?? Maybe something to do with the fact Seve's old man is a Season Ticket holder at Ibrox.

We may as well surrender games against the Huns, none of the players on the park actually wanted the 3 points yesterday, wouldnt want to de-rail the Gers title charge would we? It's about time we got back to the Fuck the Huns attitude, I cant be the only person sick of this Hun love-in at Pittodrie?

I Sky+ the game and watched the interviews afterwards, its fair to say that Calderwood was a bloody embaressment. I have defended the guy plenty of times in the past but his arse kissing to the opposition was sickening.

  5. Dyce would be better for sure, although would make it tough for the away coaches. BTW, it's less than 1/20th of the city's population, and I would guess that at least 50% of the crowd are non-city based anyway, many of whom come from the north.

50% of the crowd non city folk ?

I cannot believe someone has mentioned Dyce as a venue for any new stadium. Travelling out that road is a nightmare at the best of times, events at any stadium out there would make it even more of a nightmare.

Since the topic of a new stadium came up I have always mentioned Cove as a prime site. No more parking nightmares, space for development and if they can get their fingers out and get a station in Cove then it could be fantastic.

  6. Robos source is a coach whos a friend of a lad he knows? Theres too many friends of a friend there. If it was a direct source then fine. Might as well be a friend of an uncles dog. I dont believe any of it.

Im not going to make any comment on this transfer rumour until I actually get back to Aberdeen. However, quite a few folk have people they know who work at the club. I for one wouldnt reveal a source on a public site and perhaps Robo's coach whos a friend of a lad he knows is the boy covering for his.
