  1. Rangers were about to offer him a deal just around the time he signed his contract extension with us.

Apparently he wasnt too chuffed but he had put pen to paper with us.

It wouldnt surprise me at all to see him end up there.

  2. um yeah he was he won the goalden boot  :lolabove:

Going by your logic the following have also been the best striker in the world:

    Kevin Phillips

    Nikos Machlas

    Diego Forlan

and the following would have won the title however the award was stopped for 5 years between 91-96:

    Ally McCoist x2

David Taylor (he played for some welsh team)

    an Armenian league player

    a Georgian league player.

Tell me, would your Greatest Ever World XI include Carlton Palmer ?

  3. at least back then we were losing to decent players larsson scored 6 goals in those two games he was the best striken in the world at the time, can you imagine what he would do to our current defence?

Maybe when you were playing Championship manager he was but back in the real world he was not the best striker in the world.

Mind you i wouldnt expect someone whos not from the city to share the same passion for their local team

Wait a minute, are you nae from Balmedie ?

I couldnt give a fuck if a Dons fan is from Northfield or Northampton, the main point is they are a Dons fan. You being a United fan should appreciate that.

  4. 2.  Depends on what you look at as success, no cup finals in 4 years and his greatest achievement to date has been winning one game in europe even ebbe managed two cup finals and two european wins and he was mince I look at top 4 finishes instead of battling relegation.  I look at respectability and the ability to compete with clubs of similar size.  I look at going to parkhead and Ibrox and not losing by five goals or more. but are we respectable this season? we have already lost to killie (humped big time) ICT and hamilton at home as well as united and hibs? the standard of the league has dropped dramatically over the passed few years but we are being told our squad is getting better - this doesnt compute! True we arnt losing by 5 goals anymore at these places but these teams dont have the world class players they did, larsson, de boer etc etc these were international class players now we are playing against much weaker players

Yeah Celtic were full of world class players when they humped us 7-0. The likes of Regi Blinker, Vidar Riseth, Jonathon Gould, Olivier Tebily, played that day whilst we had Baldur Bett, Ricky Gillies, Jim Hamilton and Andy Dow. We were utter shite back then and though some of you were still at school, getting humped 4-0 in a final is nothing to look back upon favourably even if you did get to do the conga around Hampden.

  5. He was breathing out his arse after 20 minutes at Rugby Park on Wednesday.

He did play well when moved into midfield that night though.

I have said it before on here but to repeat, since he has become captain there have been instances where Seve trains when he wants. He will have an "injury" during the week but will miraculously regain fitness on the Friday so he can play at the weekend. No wonder the guy isn't fit, he isn't doing the training required to regain a decent level of fitness. Apparently he has been Bertie Big bollocks since Anderson left and with him being captain nobody will say anything to him. If other rumours are to be believed he isn't the most liked bloke in the dressing room either.

As far as I am concerned his continued selection is one of the major reasons as to why we have lacked any real passion or spirit since Russell left.

People say Jimmy must go and IMO that is not going to happen. What should happen though is that Seve should have the captaincy stripped from him and given to someone else who will at least try and raise the team.

A mate called it in the pub last night: it doesn't matter whether you are going through a divorce or you share a lodge with the manager, if your not capable of lifting your team or even showing a little leadership then you shouldn't be captain.

  6. If this continues there will be fewer and fewer fans there every week to boo. Alot of us have about had enough of the tactical tombola, favourites getting played no matter what, the pish Jimmy regularly spouts to the media and NEVER taking the blame for anything.

I could actually deal with the tactical tombola IF players were selected on the basis of form.

It has been said many times on here but Seve is not fit for purpose but is still picked week in week out. He was dropped last season and we played well, he came back and we went backwards. Stevie Wonder can see that he is a major problem at the moment and lets be honest here, it could be argued that Stephen Hawking has better communication skills than Seve.

What Im getting at is that though people are quick to blame JC, the main problem is a lack of leadership on the pitch. That should be the first thing that should be addressed.

  7. I'd drop Seve. His legs have gone. The way he was effortlessly outpaced time and again in the second half was embarassing. He's no defender, and i don't think he's as good a holder as Kerr. If he was more mobile he could replace MacDonald in the weekly hiding contest, but he isn't.

Seve should have been dropped over a year ago. He knows he will play whatever happens. Last season he was not training during the week due to "injury" but would then suddenly be fit again on Friday allowing him to play at weekend.

Around the time of the Madrid game he was dropped and we won a couple of games on the bounce. He was then brought back and team was reshuffled, we then went back to getting beat.

Im not a fan of his at all and though they may share an interest or two, JC should have the balls to so something regarding what is in effect a large reason as to why we struggle on the pitch.

Im not one for throwing the toys out of the pram in regard to our performances but I will give serious consideration as to whether I will continue to waste money going to games if our on the field leadership is to be provided by Severin.

  8. JC is the reason for the drinking culture at the club.

Any manager that tells a player that they are not allowed to order coffee and must drink alcohol whilst in his company is a buffoon.

It really is no wonder some of our players look like they lack fitness.

  9. Jimmys Monday interview:

    On the collapse against Hamilton:

"A lot of it is to do with talking, we are a very quiet team"

So why continue to have Severin as captain ?

The guy does not communicate with fellow team mates on the pitch and cannot be relied upon to gee up the team.

  10. Oh, and can anyone explein why Severin is still captain, he did fuck all today to warrant the armband, whilst Diamond ame straight on and started ordering the backline into a semblance of order.  Diamond to my mind is a much more sensible option for captain.

Severin as captain is now beyond ridiculous, the guy couldnt organise a lash up in a distillery.

Though he is young Diamond shows the right sort of determination and will to win that a captain should have. I have yet to see these sort of characteristics in Seve.

JC likes his own boys, the ones he can have a drink with. He has to realise that a guy who is a good craic out on the lash is by no means a good captain of a SPL football team.

  11. Rockness was brilliant, and the weather was fantastic.

I saw heaps of bands.  Stand outs for me were Digitalism, The Orb, Soulwax, Does It Offend You Yeah? and CSS.  Pete and the Pirates were good.

Its a cracking hassle-free festival, probably the best in Scotland. (miles better than T in the Park for location, atmosphere, Ned count, drink and food options).

Almost ounds too good to be true mate.
