That's not to say he wouldn't have gone if a club south of the border came in for him.
He was applying for/putting feelers out for certain jobs in England that were available. Iirc this included the Birmingham and Wigan jobs.
-
I'm a bit shocked at the number of votes McGhee seems to have received. Didn’t have that much money behind him compared to previous managers.
My own personal choice is Skovdahl. Always came across as a fine guy but the team were an utter shambles under him.
-
Wasn't going to buy one but the Setanta affair got the better of me and decided to get some.
-
Big Walt Knew.
-
I'd love to hear Minniejc's view on this.
He probably lives next door to the boy that owns Setanta.
-
The JMG will get the manager they deserve.
It would be ironic if we ended up with a clone of JC.
-
From what I hear they were given the boot on Friday but asked to do the game on Sunday.
-
I would have punted him after the Madrid game. Him still being captain is my biggest annoyance with JC.
He is a total arsehole who is more concerned about getting out on the lash on a Saturday night.
-
So he can stop carping to the weegie press that he has never met anyone who is brave enough to say they dont like him to his face?
I thought I read that people had seen him in the street etc but didnt go and criticise him ?
If people want to protest then fair do's. In addition fair play to the folks who went after saying they would go despite many telling them they didnt agree with the protest and how badly organised it was.
However dont be surprised that the club manager will not speak to you when some of the protestors make a tourettes gathering look like playschool when arguing their viewpoint.
-
Much respect to the Ultras for the display.
-
It's just the start, us faceless fans made ourselves known yet Jimmy never came out.
Why should he come out and speak to a few folk who were outside the main stand ?
-
If we lose I can see a few more people turning up, as much as I want us to win a loss would also be good from my point of view anyways not that it counts around here, only a select fews opinions are welcome around here and you need to be from outwith Aberdeen.
Utter shite mannie
-
5 of them probably voted on here.
Surely more people will be going to point and laugh at the 32.
After reading the article in last nights EE this protest is falling on its arse. Random Pittodrie punters will wonder why Brian fae Glasgow is organising a protest but cant answer any of the questions put to him regarding numbers etc.
Folk will walk past and wonder "Fa are that bams like"
-
Ahhhh,!! I now understand what you mean't Brownie!
I'm surprised this JMG protest hasn't been postponed. Personally I think it's disrespectful and in bad taste to have it on the same day as the minute's silence.
I think it should be postponed too but some of the people on AFC Chatare not in the real world, even the mods on there are pushing for this protest to go ahead.
It is ridiculous.
-
Have you ever been to Aberdeen?
My mate once walked home on a Saturday night to Cove because he couldn't be fucked waiting for a taxi... he said, "Never Again!".
I walked it once from Makro to town cause my car broke down... nae something I'd ever want to do again!
You make it sound like a trek through the Himalayas, its only Cove min.
-
Brownie, I'm confused as to what you have done to get your post removed. Did you post I concur, like you quoted me, or did you post about the ultras planned display during the silence?
Like Manc Donc I fear that the press may pick up on this protest on what is going to be a sombre occasion. I also fear that some sections of the Dons support may not look favourably upon a protest on that day either as it will be the first home game since the tragedy.
-
saying what?
The PM said they removed it as it was not appropriate. Was seen as point scoring and one of the protesters knew someone who had died.
My take is this:
Most of the city know someone affected by this tragedy and I firmly believe that this protest could not happen at a worse time.
-
I concur
I posted something along those lines on AFC Chat and the post was removed and I had a PM from one of the mods.
-
Well done Red Ultras. I'm sure it will be well received and hopefully the press will pick up on this rather than some other ludicrously organised event on the same day.
Well said
-
This propaganda that you are for him if you aren't against him does my nut in.
It's the argument of a fool
Totally agree.
As is the whole
Lets protest before a game but not put too much thought into it except from some swanky posters.

Jamie Smith is great player but is hardly fit. Would rather spend the wages on someone no so injury prone.
Get Seve to feck and we are on to a winner.
-
Having Seve as captain when Stevie Wonder can see that the guy is not up to the job.
-
Already happening! Since the start of the season the empty spaces around us are becoming larger every game. These are seats which were occupied by ST holders who now can't be bothered turning up. I suspect other areas of the ground are the same. This is the result of the dire football served up by the management and the team week in week out. The warning signs are there! Will the Board take heed?
I made the decision to not to go back after the QOS semi final.
My problem at the time was Seve as captain and said I would not go back to an AFC game whilst he was still captain.
To a certain extent Seve still is my main gripe, however JC is the man who keeps him as club captain when he offers nothing to the role.
I used to laugh at kkk chat and the JMG brigade but the cup defeat to Dunfermline was pathetic.

As soon as I saw that in tonights EE my first thought was: The club was also be mad to offer you a new contract.
