  1. Ok, should probably be in the "What You Listening To" thread, as not new and not not exactly unheard of either, but gents I give you one of the most beautiful songs ever written with truely poignant lyrics that still strike a chord over forty years on. Never fails to move me this track, and still one of my highlights ever seeing them perform this track live. By no means the best known track from the album it was featured on but I give you all seven and half minutes of the closing track of the Hotel California album by the Eagles.

  2. Watched Sportscene last night, only to see if we were really as bad as everyone says we were...and we were.

However, Michael Stewart (who I have a lot of time for) was bang on with his comments about us and McInnes's constant giving teams too much respect and how it very rarely, if ever works. As he said Aerdeen went into Saturdays game off the back of four straight wins with fourteen goals scored. This should have been a team high on confidence, this was a team that ripped their opponents on Saturday apart the last time they faced one another. It definitely feels like a reasonable question to ask....why pay them so much respect and instead of playing to our strenghts, set up to counter theirs.

Fucked if I know lads ???

  3. It was ok. I missed one episode in the middle but couldn't be arsed catching up with it. I don't want to piss on yer chips but if you hadn't seen it, you missed nothing. It was ok at best and I don't like wasting time on stuff that isn't good at least and preferably great.

Agree that the last episodes were good though, surprisingly actually and also agree that the lead actor boy is a wooden top.

    Started watching it last night.

First three episodes down and got to say it's ok so far.

    Ok but not billiant.

    Will continue watching though

  4. Said it before and I'll say it again

SPREAD THE FUCKING NET A LITTLE BIT WIDER THAN THESE SHORES

C'mon tae fuck, grow a set and pick up the phone to Klinsmann and see if he fancies it. What have we realisticlally got to lose by making the call.

  5. Going there will net him a hefty pay rise but realistically will it ever improve his stock and get him an even better job in future? Right now they are sitting in one of the relegation positions in the Championship with Hull, Birmingham and Bolton sitting right above them, all of whom possess far greater resources. If he kept them up this season he would be hailed in a similar way Alex Neil was when he got Norwich promoted in his first 6 months.

However if he did keep them up he still faces the prospect of managing a club which in financial terms is probably still going to be in the bottom 3 comparatively against his rivals, regardless of who comes up from League 1. I doubt anyone would ever expect Barnsley to ever be serious challengers for promotion to the Premier League but their board and support would probably want to see a manager keep them comfortably mid table to be regarded as a success. But on a budget far less than 90% or more than their rivals.

And if, as is a more likely scenario, they drop down to League 1 at the end of this season, the only scenario their board will tolerate is instant promotion back up. If they weren't in the top 6 of League 1 at this point next season ( and within 9-10 points of the top team) it's highly likely he would be facing the bullet and returning back north of the border with his reputation tarnished.

I hope he thinks very carefully before jumping ship.

Could do worse than pick up the phone and have a chat with McInnes in my opinion.

Definte parallels between this and the situation McInnes walked into @ Bristol City.

Personally feel, Ross is building up his stock at Helen and would be wise to stick with what he has at present.

    1-1 (GMS)

Can't see us getting all three points in this one. Whilst we may have blown them away earlier in the season at Pittodrie, Lennon normally has them fired up for their bigger games and this is certainly a big game for them and one they simply can't lose to us if they have any aspirations to finish above us this season. Remember that Lennon was spouting off about them being the second best team in the country not that long ago. Suspect a draw is best we'll do with GMS to continue his love affair of scoring against them. Worried about the goalkeeping situation, the defence, and the loss of Shinnie for the game. Total it up and it's a lot of worries. Draw might not be the worst outcome given all of that.
