Could you imagine McInnes ever signing an Albanian Internationalist?

If this is supposed to be sarcasm forgive me. But Florian Kamberi was an Albanian International, which is why I'll reserve my judgement on this guy. Not really a position we need filling either.

Also, I'd happily get rid of that entire back four ahead of next season.

Goodwins comments tonight give me hope that is the intention.

"We were in complete control and one ball over the top of our backline and the ball is in the net. When the ball comers across the face of goal, it is really, really poor defending. There's no getting away from the numbers - this team has conceded far too many goals."

With Considine is it not a case of he was offered a one-year deal but he wants two years? That would take him up to the age of 37.

I'm with Goodwin on this one. I don't think we get two good years out of Considine, who is already past his best.

If that's the case I understand not offering two years. He won't get two years anywhere at his age and coming back from that type of injury. That said I don't think we should be taking the offer of 1 year off the table unless we have someone lined up who can replace him and we need the budget to bring them in. Maybe this is the case but it does seem early at this point.

The damning thing about this season is that the old firm and Hearts aside, the rest of the teams in this league have been honking yet we are still struggling to make the top 6.  Failure to beat the crap teams in the league has a horrible resemblance to how we were back in the days of Ebbe and Alec Miller.  I hope the signings of Polvara and Besuijen are not just Nigel Pepper and Andy Dow in disguise.  We have 14 games left of the season.  Get in Jack Ross now and let him get an early start on his preparations for next season.

Blaming Cormack IMO is totally wrong.  He has backed Glass to the hilt.  Not only has he had free reign to bring in 14 new players, he has also managed to hold on to Ferguson and Ramsay when he could have taken the cash for them.

Cormack hired glass and it has always been a questionable appointment so he is partly to blame. I'll give Cormack the benefit of doubt for now as like you say he has put money in and I believe he does want the best for AFC. But he has to accept that this experiment with Glass isn't going to plan at some point. I wouldn't touch Jack Ross though. Honestly would rather have McInnes back (and to be clear that's not something I want either).

Christie? Always enjoyed watching how unseriously he took the game, like he was having a kick about with his mates. And his guile/craftiness while playing.Seemed to turn affa serious looking when he returned to Timmy

Re Lewis -  Only problem I think he suffers from now and again is confidence.Have the apparent poor spells not occured when the various defence combos have been at their shakiest? Hopeful Gallacher can bed in if we allow him time, maybe another young one in for cover if nothing in the reserves

Good point, Christie was with us for a couple of years so you almost forget he was a loan. Still a good few years since we got anyone decent in. If we had given the time we gave to the likes of James Wilson to one of youth prospects maybe some more of them would have kicked on. Got to credit Glass, he seems more likely to give our own young players a chance than McInnes.

I think £7.5M would be about right. They got lucky with the timing, I think had Ramsay been a year further on we'd have seen him in a Scotland shirt doing just as well. Bottom line is that Scotland needed a right back and he came in and did well. At 6ft3, he's got the athleticism and potential build to do well down there.

I think it was about the same time the two of them broke through but a few things went in Pattersons favor over Ramsey. Rangers were doing well at the time which allowed him to slot in and show how good he was, whereas we have been struggling and Ramsey hasn't had the players around him to show his best. I think though we can all agree another factor was that Scotland couldn't go to the Euros without a hun in the squad so he was fast tracked in there. Both have (according to Wikipedia) made roughly the same number of appearances and that's with Ramsey having been out for several months. I presume Ramsey actually has more starts and minutes as well. I actually think Patterson is a decent player from what I've seen but we will see how good now he's at Everton. The plus for Ramsey is that he has time on his side. He's a couple of years younger than Patterson so hopefully a better prospect in the end.

  7. Think we were a bit fortuitous today but its always a slog against them. Probably just starts to make up for the times we have been unlucky this season.

With results going for us again today I would say 3rd place is there for the taking. I'm not going to get ahead of myself and say I'm confident we will do it, but I am starting to feel a bit more optimistic. None of the other teams in the league are particularly good Hearts somehow went about 10 games unbeaten but are now only 6 points ahead of us. But even if our form is a bit patchy throughout the season it still looks like we still might have enough to achieve a spot in europe which would be a good result for the first season under new management.

  8. I think we were very unlucky not to get the 3 points tonight. Having seen the highlights I think there is a case for both the free-kick that led to their first goal and their pen. But as has been said, if it were at the other end there is no chance we would have got them.

Hopefully the last two games are a sign that things are starting to click for us, it should certainly give us more confidence going forward.

Let's not nit pick , and I easily could Slim, but this team are miles ahead of us at present.

We haveca long long way to go before we can get to the next level

Only positive is that we are still early days under new management. So hopefully if the right foundation is put in place to give us a chance. If we can get more young talents like Ramsay into the team I feel this is the way to go, although the odd astute signing is welcome its always difficult for a club with our budget to attract established players. That was the downfall of McInnes in the end.

Play your best team then make changes when/if you are winning!!!

Easy to say now, but that team should have had enough to beat them. Besides what is our best team. Ojo was anonymous today yet was brilliant midweek. Maclennan aswell. We do need to be able to rotate the team at times and it was a reasonably strong lineup today.

  11. Yeah, its nice to just play someone different competitively. If we do manage to get to the group stages Im sure there will be a couple of decent teams in there. Even if they are not well known Im pretty sure every fixture at this level will be competitive for us.
