Brilliant weekend of sport, so many great performances.

Even the golf was better than expected!

 

The tennis final was awesome, huge credit must go to Del Potro.  Murray did brilliantly though.

 

I'm suffering from lack of sleep with it all.

Thrilling match between Murray and del Potro.  Always like del Potro's game but you could tell that Murray not only wanted it more, but his fitness was far superior.

I've warmed to golf in the olympics but fuck me the crowd and commentary were both awful.

Cracking Olympic football final between Brazil and Germany on just now. 1-0 Brazil at the moment. Germany have hit the bar 3 times and keeper made a great save.

Brazil win gold medal in football beating Germany 5-4 in penalties. Was a brilliant game.

The women's hockey gold and the performance of the rhythmic gymnasts was stunning

Very impressed with Glasgows Calum Hawkins coming 9th in the marathon today. Cracking effort.

Agree the Olympics has been brilliant as it always is.

 

Two things;

 

Hitchens article about the over-zealous celebrating by "our country" is indeed disturbing.

 

No way does golf - and tennis and football - deserve to be there.
