Crazy American Politics

Story #1

http://www.statepress.com/2012/03/12/senate-judiciary-committee-endorses-controversial-contraceptive-bill/

The Senate Judiciary Committee voted 6-2 Monday to endorse a controversial bill that would allow Arizona employers the right to deny health insurance coverage for contraceptives based on religious objections.

Arizona House Bill 2625, authored by Majority Whip Debbie Lesko, R-Glendale, would permit employers to ask their employees for proof of medical prescription if they seek contraceptives for non-reproductive purposes, such as hormone control or acne treatment.

“I believe we live in America. We don’t live in the  Soviet Union,” Lesko said. “So, government should not be telling the organizations or mom and pop employers to do something against their moral beliefs.”

Lesko said this bill responds to a contraceptive mandate in the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act signed into law March 2010.

“My whole legislation is about our First Amendment rights and freedom of religion,” Lesko said. “All my bill does is that an employer can opt out of the mandate if they have any religious objections.”

Story#2

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/rick-santorum-wants-ban-hardcore-pornography-222833811.html

Rick Santorum wants to put an end to the distribution of pornography in the United States.

"America is suffering a pandemic of harm from pornography," Santorum's official website reads. "Pornography is toxic to marriages and relationships. It contributes to misogyny and violence against women. It is a contributing factor to prostitution and sex trafficking."

The former Pennsylvania senator states that, "as a parent, I am concerned about the widespread distribution of illegal obscene pornography and its profound effects on our culture."

Santorum criticized the Obama administration for turning "a blind eye ... to the scourge of pornography" and for refusing to enforce obscenity laws.

"If elected President, I will appoint an Attorney General who will do so," Santorum writes. "While the Obama Department of Justice seems to favor pornographers over children and families, that will change under a Santorum Administration."

Hilarious. Trump really is thick as shite. Everyone in the galaxy could see that coming before they even met. What an embarrassment of a nation (as most nations are). Two of life's absolute losers inv

  • We just mainly hear about their gestapo shooting Americans in the face, the child sex trafficking and fascist stuff but that’s good news about property taxes

It’s all balance. You’ve heard it from the club, the importance of Scottish players and a management team with Scottish influence and experience who know the club and the league. Are the club heading in a racist direction? We signed Cameron and Morrison, interested in Watson and Stanway. I don’t see this as a concern, just the fact that cultural identity does matter.

It's not a cultural thing though, is it? It's about pragmatism. Players with experience of the SPFL are much lower risk than out with. You get a much higher rate of return. Almost any European based player will already be culturally similar to those in Scotland.

That’s fair, although I don’t agree almost any player would fit into the Scottish culture. To me, and I don’t particularly want to discuss definitions and I’m more concerned about transfers and the lack of a manager, Scottish culture includes language, food, weather, religion, family, outlook on life, things that matter daily and can people adapt to that. that’s what I’m thinking anyway. For example, I’ve lived in sun and warmth for 30 years and going outside is only an issue when it’s too hot. That means something, versus fighting the weather on a regular basis in scotland. That’s my memory anyway, and what my family talks about every time we talk!

You’ve heard the club / lutz talk about it, and specifically the need for Scottish players too. I also think bringing local and Scottish kids through our youth system to the first team is essential, plus I am a person who wants our players in future Scotland squads. Every player doesn’t need to be Scottish, but I think as a Scottish club we have to have a core of Scottish players.

If we won the Scottish Cup, with a full team of foreign players, very few of us would give a fuck.

Yes it would be nice to have a team of Scottish players, mainly brought through from our youth academy, but fitba has changed even more so than Edinburgh.

Actually I cannot see them releasing anything like that so it has to be fake.

Loads of documents released, but nothing linking them with the gimp, that I can see.

"No Contact Made"  etc.

This is the FBI?

If it's true you wouldn't employ them!

You would think that they are holding back on something.

They release millions of documents, but nothing of note in them.

A cynic might think they are protecting certain people...

Many have been deleted since the release yesterday. Plenty of sordid accusations about Trump.

There were some that were released, then quickly deleted.
They were about as grim as you can get

A senile nonce is tearing that country apart, almost certainly under pressure from at least two nation states & the land of the free/home of the brave (no laughing at the back) are sitting aside and letting him do it

I reckon there is one helluva conspiracy going on in the states. The only people who have really had any real consequences due to Epstein (Maxwell, Andrew, Mandleson) are all British. Next to fuck all happening across the pond despite all the horror story accusations that came out yesterday. I did see this theory though…

That would show a level of competency that is completely beyond this administration. None of them are in their position because they possess any talent

All you have to do with Trump is watch what he does and believe him when he tells you the truth. He is a child rapist, that is getting manipulated by Isreal & Russia, caging journalists, killing citizens & will try to fuck over the midterms

Not sure of trump’s involvement, but I think the bigger issues are bill gates and bill Clinton. That’s a ton of power right there. Trumps net worth is approx 6 billion, bill gates is 115 billion, that’s power and influence there. Clinton’s in the low hundreds of million. Plus you start looking into Clinton, the Clinton foundation etc, that family goes to jail.

its one big shit show that people will pay and kill for the juicy to stay hidden.

Is that the same Clintons who released a joint statement saying ‘release all the files’ or are they different Clintons?

Theres no political nuance to this. If their name is in, they have questions to answer. Trump most of all

You are funny. You believe what they say? They are saying that because they absolutely know it won’t come out, and they are involved to be certain of that.
I didn’t say trump was innocent, there are others way more guilty, but we’ll never get the truth. But try to look beyond trump occasionally. Bill gates is a very powerful man, (prince) Andrew is not in jail, very rarely do the rich and powerful get taken down.

Edited by OrlandoDon

The rich and powerful rarely get taken down because theres so many people out there making excuses for them

You say Trump isn’t innocent. What is it you think he’s guilty of?

His fault we lost 3-0 today. And he should have subbed shinnie at half time.

I don’t blame you for bailing out at this point

There’s no point. I don’t care like you do. Like the anti trump syndrome people here, it’s always his fault and there’s no point in arguing/debating, it always comes back to trump is to blame. It’s cold in Florida today, I’m sure someone somewhere is blaming trump for chem trails and weather modification.
I’ve said many times, trump isn’t blameless, trump isn’t innocent etc, I try to be subjective. but that’s not good enough for you, you’ve made that clear a few times. None of us ultimately know, but some, maybe you, I don’t know, think they do more than others.

this wasn’t even about trump, it was the Epstein files and I made the comment that others are involved and guilty, gates and Clinton who I referenced. Debating trump, just like listening to him, is beyond exhausting.

You do know, you just aren’t prepared to go there because you voted for him. I wouldn’t know how to square that away with myself either.

The man openly admits to grabbing women by the pussy, walking in on children getting dressed, that his own daughter has great cans and they have sex in common. That’s not me you’re arguing with, that’s him saying that. Yikes

You’re just continuing to back up my point. It’s not always about trump. I responded to the conspiracy theory comment and why only Brits had gone down for Epstein so far. My comment was that very powerful people are involved and that we won’t get the truth or accountability. You want to discuss trump. Again.

You’re probably right. I just figured a politically compromised nonce about to start bombing Iran (no more foreign wars! 🤣) & who is accused of the most horrendous crimes imaginable, might be a bit newsworthy.

But aye, Bill Gates. Boo

I’m not here to pick fights with you, or anyone. Commented before I dont get on this thread much now for this exact reason. You get some real touchy subjects, things get heated, some people clearly care more than others. I live here in the US, have for 30 yrs, and am a US citizen now. I am more than grateful for the life this country has allowed me to live, and the opportunities presented to me.
I see things quite differently to  comments some of you make, so do speak up. I don’t dislike anybody, you have your opinion. This week I’m a racist, even though on red tv today they made the positive comment about us having more Scottish players, I’ve been a crazy right winger before. I’m not the voice of trump, the republicans, or anyone, just giving you an opinion. Same as you all do, we’re all entitled to that. But some of you here get quite upset for differing viewpoints, hence I tend to avoid this thread now. To each their own, we all love the dons and that’s a beautiful thing…..despite the regular shit like today!

I’m not upset and I’m quite happy to have a differing viewpoint when it comes to the nonce in chief. I just find it fascinating that he could get elected twice knowing what we know.
Anyway, won’t be long now
