EE: 4-3-3 binned??

Aberdeen FC boss criticises disappointing strikeforce

Back to the drawing board for McGhee

MARK McGhee today admitted Aberdeen FC’s shot-shy performance at Brighton has forced him to scrap plans to go with a three man strikeforce in their SPL opener against Hamilton.

Despite McGhee using six of the seven strikers available to him, teenager Mitch Megginson missed out because of a hamstring injury, Aberdeen FC failed to get any shots on target and were fortunate to only lose 1-0 to their League One opponents.

McGhee enjoyed success when he was manager of Motherwell when he went with a 4-3-3 formation and hasn’t ruled out playing that way sometime in the future.

Presume there's quotes in the paper itself.

You've got to question McGhee's signing policy if he hasn't brought in the people to implement his vision.

It all seems a bit scattergun to me.

Can't believe this after it was such a resounding success last season  :-\

4-3-3 for some reason hasn't worked well for us much.

That said, if McGhee has a "way of playing" and a Vision and he brings in his own players to try and achieve that, and doesn't before a ball is kicked in anger, it is a bit fucking worrying.

Did he not say that 433 was dropped this time last season?
