Aberdeen v St Mirren

I don’t want to be part of worst Aberdeen FC team

Says defender Richard Foster

By Sean Wallace

Published: 24/03/2010

RICHARD Foster is desperate to avoid the unwanted label of Aberdeen FC’s worst ever team.

Failure to beat St Mirren at the weekend would condemn Aberdeen FC to 12 games without a win.

That would see Mark McGhee’s side go close to matching Aberdeen’s worst run of 13 results without a victory from any Aberdeen FC team in the club’s 107-year history.

The current squad is just one game away from matching the winless 13-game run set in 1923 after drawing 2-2 with Dundee United.

Surely to fuck we'll win this one.

Indeed, you've brought shame on the City of Glasgow.

I shall be taking some time off completely unrelated to any drugs issues.

No. I'll be bringing Glasgow into further disrepute when my leave is over.

Possibly lager and jager fuelled optimism, but I think we will beat St Mirren.

All the talk of our worst record ever.... if St M beat us it will be the first time they have won at Pittodrie since 1987

God Bless Global Warming!

It really is some day up here today.

Mark McGhee makes two changes from the team that drew with Dundee United last week as Grassi replaces the injured Paterson and Mackie drops to the bench as MacLean returns to the starting eleven. Joining Mackie on the bench are Nelson, Ifil, Marshall, Fyvie, Jack and a first substitute appearance for young Jack Grimmer. Today's match official is Iain Brines.

Aberdeen: Langfield, Grassi, Foster, Young, Mulgrew, Diamond, Duff, Kerr, MacLean, Paton, Aluko.

St. Mirren: Gallacher, Ross, Mair, Potter, Murray, Dorman, Thomson, Higdon, Brady, Robb, Dargo.

Fucking Grassi. Jesus wept. He should get the sack just for continuing with that horses arse.

Grassi, credit where credits due, he actually played not bad last week.

4-1 to the Dons!

good to see a bit of humour ;)

Played quite well yesterday, although the first half hour was atrocious.  It turned into a decent game (by this season's standards) once we'd scored though.

Thought Diamond and Duff had very good games.  Paton and MacLean need to work on their finishing, they missed some real sitters.

Aluko still adding very little to the team.  Oh how we miss Pawlett's direct style.

Diamond, Duff man and Fyvie I thought were excellent. Paton played quite well too, despite not scoring. Should have put the game to bed, as the last 10 minutes turned into quite a nervy affair after they had scored and MacLean got sent off. Brian Winter was atrocious, gave us very little and couldn't get the red card out quicker. I'm sure it won't be the first time and it won't be the last.
