Bye bye £75k

I thought he scored against St Midden and East Fife. Were there any others  ??? EE says only one goal.

Think they mean one league goal.

Assume we must be paying up his contract and freeing him as cannot see another club actually being dumb enough to pay for him.

I'm not sure we should look at this other than just one that got away. " 'Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all".

The articles a bit vague, it doesn't actually say we've paid him off and actually hints that he'll join Duff out on loan somewhere.

There is no point in having a striker who is not able to challenge the first choice strikers even though they cannot score for love nor money.

BBC says they will 'listen to offers' so he is not gone until he has been taken off our hands

Who the heck's going to buy him.

Tommy Wright Wright Wright, He's been fucking shite shite shite, nearly as bad as Leon Mike Mike Mike.

Tommy Wright will never score against Rangers. ;)

gutted  ;D

Unfortunately I think we really can file this one under 'Jimmy's dross'.

He came on tonight.

He came on tonight.

Yeah he did and managed to kick out at one St Mirren player and elbow another one in the head.

In his defense I would like to highlight that he was only on the pitch for about five minutes ;)

So yet more great reporting by the EE.

Stockport in race for Aberdeen FC striker

Wright targeted for English move

Published: 18/01/2010

STOCKPORT County are on the trail of Aberdeen FC striker Tommy Wright.

The Evening Express revealed last week that Wright, who has failed to establish himself at Pittodrie since his £75,000 move from Darlington in 2008, could be moved out this month to make space for new faces.

Stockport boss Gary Ablett is desperate to bring in a new striker after seeing Carl Baker, Oli Johnson and Peter Thompson all move on over the course of last week.

It’s understood he has expressed an interest in landing Wright who still has more than a year left on his contract with Aberdeen FC, as Stockport battle to avoid relegation from League One

Stockport in race for Aberdeen FC striker

Can it be called a race if there is only one team after him?

Anyone avaialble to drive the taxi ?

Aye. i'll fly over to do it like.

My own Money and all.

No not really. Anyway Stockport are broke so cannot see them being able to pay for him and if we free him we would have to pay up his contract which we cannot afford to do. I would we are stuck with him until his contract expires.

Might just be cheaper to buy him his train fare, only £40 if we get him on the 07.06 tomorrow morning.

The most galling aspect is that we spent £100k on him, add his wages for a year and a half plus costs and yet despite having cash in the bank of over £2,000,000 the board did not see fit to spend £20k to support the new manager to bring in a quality player in Jim O'Brien. You never know, this new manager might be good. Improving the squad which is patently required may lead to improved performances and may even lead to bigger gate receipts. We got stiffed big time with big Tommy. Never been fit, either physically or for purpose. Thanks JC & WM.

They could take over his contract. Or we could subsidise his wages until the end of it, or something. Or anything. I just wish he'd fuck off, it'd be best for everyone involved.
