As much as I dislike him and minus some crazy decisions, no-one can argue that he's doing a good job. Even Mizer.

I bet he would try though!

For me it would have to be euro qualification, a cup final/win and a slight improvement in the quality of football

Qualifying for Europe

Top 3

Cup win

Beating the huns at Ibrox

Beating the tims at Pittodrie

Europe and decent cup run

or cup win and top 6 would both be fine for me, but id expect us to be in the top 4 no matter, and cup semi should be a bare minimum unless we get the OF away in an earlier round.

Not paying the 5% of ticket sales to the old firm might make some happy.

All the bbc pundits to a man have put utd as their favourite to finish 3rd.  Not one of them put us.  Fair enough utd are hard to beat but they dont exactly have a threatening front line.

Warren Feeney will be a good acquisition for them.

I'm happy that the pundits are all tipping United as they are usually wrong.

Improvement.

Qualifying for Europe would be an improvement, more points, better league position, cup win/final. All of those would help class a successful season by improving on the last.

Agreed.

But I'd be very surprised if we bettered last season's achievements to be honest.

Depends who you ask. Some think we achieved nothing.

I think improving on last season is entirely possible without the drain of European football on a small squad.

Good cup runs, 3rd or 4th and a couple of wins against the OF

Id be happy with that, also I would like to see us hammer some of the little teams at pittodrie.

This new uefa cup place we have.

Am I correct in thinking this replaces the intertoto and would involve the lucky qualifier starting out in european competition in early July?

Cant say i know much about him but in fairness to levien he's got an excellent record in the transfer market.

Overall  im quite optimistic about the upcoming season, i agree with funster that the lack of euro football should have a big benefit on our domestic campaign.
