League Cup - who do we want?

First Round tonight, and I believe we enter at the 2nd round stage this year.

Albion 0-0 Raith R

Raith win 4-3 on penalties

Alloa 2-0 Elgin R

Clyde 4-1 Queens Park R

Dumbarton 1-1 Annan Athletic R

Dumbarton win 5-4 on penalties

Montrose 0-2 Cowdenbeath R

Partick 4-3 Forfar R

Peterhead 0-2 Dunfermline R

Ross County 2-3 Airdrie Utd R

Stenhousemuir 1-5 St Johnstone R

Stranraer 3-6 Morton R

From a purely selfish point of view I'd like Dumbarton, Morton or Airdrie away from home....nice and local for us weegies and a new ground to visit

Not fussed who we get as long as its not Arbroath away - still trying to warm up since the last time we were there a few years ago.

Cracked it....... Ayr away

Buggar. Means a nice sprint through Glasgow to get last train home for a midweek game as 2213 train gets into Central at 2309 and last train to Edinburgh is 2330!

No word of a lie, I'm just about to apply for a demolition warrant for Somerset Park.   8)

Against Ayr? How do you get to their ground?

Follow A77 towards Ayr, turn right towards Ayr Town Centre at the Whitletts roundabout. Follow Whitletts Rd down about 1 mile to around about Tesco. Its on your right in behind the hooses.

Pretty much fit he said

Park in either Tescos or at the Race Course.

Be aware of the average speed cameras from just south of Killie all the way to Ayr. A large part of the road the speed limit is 50

Um, to rephrase, how do you get there using public transport from Aberdeen?

You get there by train or bus to Glasgow then train or bus from Glasgow to Ayr.  But you don't get home same night.

Oh, Ah well, not going to that game then.

You can always go on a supporters club bus.

I'm starting to think that its too much effort just to see Aberdeen play Ayr.

There will definitely be 2 supporters club buses from Aberdeen in Granite City and Gothenburg.  AFC might put on one aswell and couple of other clubs may run bus depending on interest.

ok through to the next round after an easy, but dull, win over Ayr.

But who do we fancy?

Need to avoid Killie, but would take pretty much anyone else, particularly at home, however from a selfish point of view I want Morton away (they can't beat SPL opposition twice in a row can they?)
