Given that our victory in 2025 saw us score four nae bad penalties, I believe that the SFA still owes us one in any future run of the competition. There was no point in cashing it in during last season’s competition, although we might have called it in before Motherwell went down to nine men, prior to our heroes folding, like Stewartie  Milne’s well-worn 1973 fiver, at East End Park. I hope we can make good use of it in 2026-27.

Shock of the round has to be Threave beating Midland league Broughty Athletic and Glasgow Uni beating some team from Ayrshire that nobody has ever heard of for any reason.

It's a disgrace that Blackburn Rovers and Preston North End get to compete in the Scottish Cup.

They'll both claim their fixtures were a sellout anyway.

Is it just me or does it feel like away fans are being punished too? I know the allocations are small, but even so.

A much better punishment would have been their next home match in the Scottish Cup becomes an away match, with none of their fans allowed and £100k on top.

But I agree it’s at least some kind of decent attempt to penalise them.

So the SFA have finally grown some balls. It has only taken them about 150 years.

From reports I note that
"The two clubs could also face a second home match without fans if there is a further incident of either side's supporters engaging in "unacceptable conduct" in a Scottish Cup fixture."
Interesting to see what constitutes "unacceptable conduct" in such circumstances.
For me this should include

being upwind of Aberdeen supporters,

being within 50 miles of Aberdeenshire

personal hygiene ( lack of)

weegie accents

...and basically all the religious , political bull*** that separates them from supporters of every other team in Scotland

I like that the ugly sisters are being punished but I don't like that fans of two other teams are going to be denied the option of going to the game just cos their mobs are the scum of the earth. No reason that they should be denied access to the game, if cops can police 52 and 60 thousand there is no reason they can't police 1-2k

Agree re. the punishment of opposing team's fans. What if the opposition is drawn at home ( no giggling at the back!! ), and their fans' season ticket includes at least a discount for cup games? (Assuming that's a thing these days).

Compensating fans who lose out could potentially put a dent in that £100k.

Of course, the lack of travelling fans also affects the expected revenue of transport companies and service industry (pubs, shops, hotels etc) .... So £100k fine to club with the means to pay up and hardly notice it is missing, seems lenient - considering the wide ranging financial harm to businesses and communities.
