So here we are second game of the league campaign and already I have the absolute fear about facing them and that is despite the fact they didn't actually look that great last Sunday. Suspect it will be normal service resumed in terms of how this game pans out as can't see us scrapping and standing up to them the way St Mirren did.

Absolutely no idea about our starting line up but Shinnie HAS to play in midfield and NOT left back.

Not sure exactly who we start at left back to be honest, can Molloy play there or does Jensen switch to the left and Devlin plays at right back (or vice versa) ?

Up front can only hope that we sign a striker....anyone ahead of Sunday or we would be as well taking a traffic cone off the road in front of the stadium and starting with it up front.

Expecting us to go to cup final formation and trying to shitfest our way to a draw. Will that work a second time I have no idea. Hopefully we get someone in before hand but suspect we won’t. Victims will be looking for revenge for their crushing cup final defeat and fear we may take a doing on Sunday. Stupid kick off time means having to head up on Saturday and stay overnight.

Celtic won't be any more fired up than they usually are, so them being "out for revenge" makes it no more likely they'll win. If anything it might lead to it being in McGregor or Johnston's head all afternoon and they end up making rash challenges.

You could argue, with Celtic (like us) not playing many competitive games and there being a bit of turmoil at the club with injuries, Idah under pressure, the manager criticising the board, the struggle to sign players - we're getting them at a good time.

The cup final formation makes us more solid at the expense of not creating very much. However, I'd like to think with Tierney still struggling to last 90 minutes, that we can get at them down their left with Milanovic or Morris.

I watched them against St Mirren and it's McGregor, McCowan and Engels hovering outside the box that's their real danger at the moment - with Jota injured and Kuhn away, again can Forrest go at it for 90 minutes? So we don't really need a five to quieten their wingers or to try and force them to play inside like we did at Hampden.

I tend to think we'll stick with 4-2-3-1 and try give our front three another game together.

No movement on this thread since Tuesday, unsurprisingly. Don't think I'm ready for the start of the season yet, despite being a game in. A bit like the Dons it seems. Zero expectations for this one. Last time we set up with a 4-2-3-1 against them at Pittodrie it went horrendously. I expect the same again if we try it again. Will hopefully be more in the mood for it by tomorrow.

3-0 the Dons.

It’s all doom and gloom at the moment. Milanovic looks a signing, Adil has had tidy monents, and I think Kjarten could be a find. Yengi looks gash but I think cosgrove did too when he first joined us, and he scored a fair few before getting us 2M.
Celtic aren’t buzzing with confidence, much like us still have to have finished their transfer business, and squeezed a win at home last week. They also haven’t played many games to get up to speed.

would like to see devlin at left back, shinnie and polvara in center mid.

2-1 us tomorrow, yengi and milanovic, although maybe a new signing today comes off the bench to score the winner!

The same Celtic that spanked Newcastle? Whilst we were spanked ourselves by Ipswich.

Not sure the timing will help us. We need a big performance .

Yes, and then they got spanked by Ajax and laboured to a 1-0 win over St Mirren.

Of course we need a big performance. But there are better times to get Celtic, and right now at the start of the season, at home, with Celtic not quite at it, is a decent time to face them.

I’d agree with your last point, Panda. If there was ever a time to play them, it’s now. We need to have the pragmatic side of Thelin here though and if he sets up as he did for the majority of last season (I.e make as weak as piss defensively), then they’ll win. Somewhere along the lines of the cup win might see us through, but the goal scoring threat worries me big time as much as defensively. A draw would be a good confidence booster for all concerned, but we shouldn’t be targeting that. How’re ticket sales for the game? Clearly not a sell out or the club would be crowing about it from the rafters.

I think it'll be 1-1. Which at this stage we probably wouldn't be too upset with.

Is Rubezic suspended due to his midweek red card? Something tells me there's been a rule change regarding just being suspended for the competition you were sent off in.

Not that I think he's in line to start. More that if Thelin wanted to recreate his Scottish Cup winning tactic, then you're potentially asking Milne and/or Dorrington to go the full 90, and they don't tend to do that often, so he'd probably want Rubezic on the bench in the absence of Tobers. There's only Molloy as back-up.

So I tend to think we'll play a four with Nilsen being asked to sit very deep to essentially make it a three/five at times.

Was going to head up for this game, had ticket for SS.

Thought the new club rules was a bit nasty, (the blue badge parking) had registered over the summer, phoned on Monday at 930am got my parking authorised.

Wednesday club phoned and took it off me because a season ticket holder only phoned in that day (spaces had been taken monday evening) leaving a bloody bitter taste in my mouth, my MS took a nasty turn today and been in bed bloody exhausted. Had phoned and cancelled the ticket, no way can I drive up tomorrow from Glasgow.

Like everyone else horsing off the park tomorrow. Celtic will know about our "tactics" from the cup final.

Lets hope he puts Sokler up front from the start, use Yengi after 60mins

What happened? You had booked a space Monday, but it got taken off you because a season ticket phoned on Wednesday wanting it?

Hope you're feeling better soon anyway.

Yes, Season ticket holders apparently now get priority parking spots with the blue badge.

Makes a mockery of the clubs statement,

"To address this and ensure a fairer system for all, the club is introducing a pre-booked parking system for the upcoming season. This change is designed to improve accessibility and provide greater certainty for supporters with disabilities."

"Spaces will first be allocated to Season Ticket Members, matchday ticket buyers can register to be added to the waiting list and will be offered spaces if availability remains after Season Ticket Members have booked."

So technically a season ticket holder can phone the club right up to kick off, and then demand a parking space. Thus removing fans travelling hundreds of miles away.

For myself, if the club can do this then there is no way in hell I am travelling up to home games to be told at any time to go move my car and find a parking spot miles from the ground just because a season ticket holder wants that space.

That’s a bit shit. Would be fairer if the season ticket holders had a set period to apply (like you do for seat for cup games) after which time the spaces would be opened up to non season ticket holders.

Hopefully you are feeling better today and can at least get to watch the game on TV.

Seems ridiculous. It makes sense that season ticket holders get priority, but only up until a specific point, a bit like reserving your seat for a cup match. Was there any inclination that this might happen when you first booked your spot?

To be honest, it sounds like an error from the club, perhaps because it's the first game, because otherwise it makes no sense whatsoever. They should have been on the phone to the various corporate customers, explaining the error, and asking if they would be willing to give up one of their spots. I'm sure it could have been sorted.

As others have said, I hope this is some kind of teething /human error and this is not the way the club are going to treat paying customers going forward.

Have you written to club, if not, I think you should to highlight the unfairness of it all and the impact that this has has upon you.

Agree with others, that’s shite and hope you’re in a better condition to be able to at least watch today. I also agree with our elder statesman 😉 in that you should, when you’re up to it, write the club to let them know about that. It’s ludicrous and makes no sense whatsoever.

Thanks for the replies, yes I am going to write to the club.

Speaking to family members it seems Season ticket holders have the car parks for disabled people all to themselves stopping other fans who are disabled from gaining access when heading to matches. Some of these fans are not season ticket holders because like myself they can't attend every game due to our illness.

Why has the club not introduced "home" fan car sharing schemes for disabled fans. But force non ST holders to park probably miles from the stadium (as we need Blue badge zones) to walk, potentially putting us at risk of accidents or pain.

No cup final motm. Dorrington to left side? Could be disastrous. Would play Milne there instead.

Edit: I'm assuming a 4-2-3-1 with Shinnie and Nielsen in midfield. Hope to christ it isn't Jensen at left back.

I'm thinking it's Jensen at LB.

Pleased to see that he's realised he can't play Clarkson and Adil in the same midfield.

How keskinen remains a first choice is beyond me. He has offered nothing since about last November.

Can we not just play Morris and milanovic on their good sides and go past people instead of having two speed merchants cut inside every time they get the ball and try to pass it through the eye of a needle in a 1-2 at the edge of the box ( when they get they far) that never comes off?

Anyway, on a positive note, looks a team for the battle

If it was Jensen right and Devlin left in the final then there’s no reason for it not to be the same today - I hope.

Morris proves time and again that he isn’t a starter, especially when we’re going to be backs to the wall. He’s much better used later in games.

Anyway, heid first into this mob!

That was my first thought. My second thought was that he took Devlin on at right back last week and moved Jensen left. Hope it's the former. Four right footed defenders is an abomination. I think I'd be requesting a move if I was Molloy.

I am struggling to understand why we’re again using the tried and failed 4-2-3-1 against this mob particularly when they’ll be looking to avenge the cup final. Has he forgotten the number of spankings we received playing this formation against them last season or is he just stubborn and unflexible?
