  1. The FBI only stepped in to fuck over Russia and their (blaringly obvious corrupt) bid and Qatar in the M.E.

But that's ok, if it brings Blatter and FIFA down with it then fine.

But Blatter's been re-elected, the mind truly does boggle.

  2. All these positive relations stuff between the yanks and Cuba is a terrible thing. This is another country on my list, just not sure when I'm going to be able to do it!

    Agreed.

Although the Yanks kissing and making up with Iran can only be a good thing, coz Persian women are fuckin smokin!  :P

  3. I remember hearing about that on the news actually (the bin strike). Luckily we are heading south I believe, girlfriends folks have a villa hired in the countryside somewhere. I'm hoping the sea has been cleaned out since than, not high on my list swimming with tampons...not the type of deep sea diving I enjoy

I'm sure I've posted a pic of a tourist spot there, strewn with rubbish, earlier on in this thread.  Take a look if you can be bothered filtering through for it.

You can also take a boat ride out to the island of Capri which you can see from Sorrento, supposed to be really nice, although I never got round to it.

    I love Italy.

  4. world is getting taken over by coffee shops. I like  coffee and have about 4 cups a day, fit I have problem with is folk buying cup coffee and then walking down union street with it ,  you ken the types . there nae even  drinking it, and the folk with the coffee flasks marching to there work holding like its some Olympic torch . fuck aff ye pretentious tit and have cup before you leave the house .  . Oh book and beans is a local coffee shop buy a cup there rather than that bastards that fill union street .

That and folk that go to work early only to have breakfast there, and start later than anyone else.

    Tits, the lot of them.

  5. Plenty more holidays to take after all that's done

A few small breaks this year, off to Cornwall for May bank holiday and then Italy in July, around the Naples region. Anyone been before?

Naples is a toilet.  Or at least 'was' when I visited in 2009.

The mafia own the bin lorries, there was a dispute over something or other, so the bin men downed tools and residents were forced to throw their rubbish out onto the streets or fly tip fridges or black bags at the sides of the road.  Seriously fucking disgusting.

Drive south down the Amalfi Coast, stop at loads of cool wee towns perched on the hillside, make your way down to beaches at the bottom (don't swim in the sea, or you'll be up to your neck in the aforementioned tampons) and bring a wallet stuffed with cash because they're literally tourist traps.

I enjoyed everything south of Naples, that and Pompeii.

  6. For a loon with a sair erse, you've nae problem spikkin oot o' it!  ;D

Time, it's no friend of mine.  We're either too early or too late.  We're either short on it or have too much of it.  Folk that are punctual get upset by others that are lacksadaisical.  If you're running late you're stressed, you're panicking, you're scrambling around cursing yourself wishing you had more time then you arrive where you're supposed to be 10 minutes ago, and you're sweating heavily and out of breath.

Pffffffffffffft.  Whatever it was can probably wait.  Was it really worth the hassle?

Turn up to the same thing half an hour early and you'll be sitting about like a plum, with a finger up your arse, killing time.  Wasting it if you ask me.

Personally I use time as a rough guide, like a pointer, of where to be and when.  If I miss the bus, there'll be another one.  If my supper is cold, I'll reheat it.  If the game has already started, there'll be another 88 minutes of it.

Much to the chagrin of my punctual bretheren.

But I'll live longer as a result.

I'll be late for my own funeral.

Which is fine by me.  ;)

  7. But if that were the case, wouldn't the capitalists make more from us spending whilst we were alive and kicking on a full cocktail of expensive drugs, rather than pushing up daisies riddled with cureable diseases?

  8. A week climbing and Hiking near Snowdon next friday, Two weeks walking from Oban to Stoney in May (via Aviemore and Ballater). Then going to Croatia in Sep, went to Dubrovnik last year, this year its some place an hour sooth of Split

    Hvar or Vis?

Thumbs up for either/or from me.

  9. I'm not suggesting taking a foot off the pedal ST, just changing things up a wee bit.  It's hardly unwarranted either as we have looked a bit less fluent recently and our results have shown that, only 4 points from the last 9.  Add to that the goals that we got against Motherwell were a little fortunate.  Not saying we didn't  deserve to win the game but the points were very much gifted to us and I don't remember too many other gilt edged chances.  This combined with the poor second half performances at Dens and the San Giro makes me think a few changes are warranted both in personnel and strategy.  I would argue that the team needs to have a bit more practice at playing in a more attack minded way for the games to come where we need to throw caution to the wind to get a goal.  Not going to win the league but 8 points clear of third with two games to come against them is a good position to be in and I think DM can afford to experiment a little more than he normally would.  With Shankland scoring a brace internationally last night it's time to be giving him some starts I reckon.

The team that achieved 'only 4 points from the last 9' were probably the same team that went on the long unbeaten run.  Regardless of how many points we've gathered so far this season I could still imagine us fucking up royally and losing as many on the trot.

I dunno, I've just seen too many disappointments with AFC to go thinking we're in the clear.

I also doubt the team that put us in this position would take too kindly to getting binned or replaced by the youngsters.  Players want to play every game, especially when they're having the season they are.

3-0 and cruising then aye, give someone a run out.

27 points still up for grabs?  Nah-nah min.

  10. Take it from me, the worst thing that can happen to the UK or Scotland is the death of the NHS.

Regardless of how shite you think it may be, how long waiting lists are, or how poor the standards might appear, you honestly don't know how good you have it until you live somewhere that you have to pay for medical care.  I am currently paying around £450/month for medical cover and I am lucky enough to have the funds to do so.  If I wasn't then I'd more than likely be self medicating or thinking, "do i really need to go get that dull ache in my kidneys seen to or will I just ride it out?".

I simply cannot stress how terrible it is walking into an emergency ward or doctors clinic, reaching for your wallet and thinking “Am I covered for this?  Can I afford it if I’m not?  How much is it going to cost?”

Free health care for ALL should be the bare minimum that your taxes pay for.  Medical care should not be a privilege.  Remember when we used to laugh at Americans for having to pay for health care?  No good can come from heading in that direction, it's a massive step backwards.

The powers that be have continually and intentionally ran the NHS into the ground, worked the staff to breaking point and lowered budgets to make it unmanageable.

How many times have you heard about someone waiting years for an operation?  How many sob stories in the papers have you read about someone who was left to die in a corridor because there wasn't enough beds?  How many reports have you seen on the evening news about someone being turned away then kicking the bucket at home shortly after?

It's a fucking disgrace, but not because of the NHS, they're the ones trying to look after you despite being shackled.

The government are running it into the ground so that when they sell it off to their mates', the companies that are in bed with the government, we'll all rejoice that we're getting a tip-top service.  The hospitals will be like 5 star hotels, the beds will be lush, you'll have a flat screen tv in every room and you'll be paying fucking megabucks for it.  Every scan, every jab, every check-up, every rubber glove will appear on your bill.  You'll be lining the pockets of millionaires and MP's who will be profiting off of the sick and elderly.

It's fucking disgusting and simply cannot be allowed to happen.

Regardless of what you think of this guy, get past it, and listen to the facts:

  11. First place may well be gone but I don't think it's time to take the foot off the pedal or mix it up too much.  9 games left is a potential 27 points, which is a huge points haul.

We need to keep the season going, show fans, players and teams that we're a club on the up.  Secure our place a handful of points behind the Tims and kick on next season.

We need to finish the season on a high because despite the placing, we're going to win fuck all.

  12. You've got to look at the positives off the field this season too:

    • Debt free.

    • Players signed up on long contracts.

    • Coaching staff renewed their contracts.

    • We have a decent bench.

    • We have a 'keeper challenging Langfield. (possibly a work in progress there)

    • We're attracting players instead of having to convince them to come.

    • Crowds must be up?

    • Our promising youth players seem to want to stay rather than chasing coin down south.

It's a great season for us, but again, it's unlikely we'll have anything to show for it.

  13. I'm struggling big time for new music, resorted to listening to BBC 6 Music and loads of old albums.  Have been for quite some time to be honest.  This guy hit the nail on the head:  http://www.nme.com/news/noel-gallagher/69195

But he's probably just beating his chest because his High Flying Birds released their second album recently.

The Prodigy are releasing a new album at the end of March.

Ghost Poet also released a new album, which I'll go listen to just now.  Quite like the stuff of his I've heard (sounds a bit like Roots Manuva) although I'm not sure I'll make it through a whole album of his doom and gloom.
