Major Margaret "Hot Lips"Houlihan aka Loretta Swit.

Loved her back in the day.

You youngsters have probably never even heard of M.A.S.H

If so, you haven't lived lads

M.A.S.H. didn't have a laughter track when it was shown in the U.K., but it does in the U.S and here in Australia. It's a much better watch without the laughter track.

Just saw this on Wiki  'The laugh track is also omitted from some international and syndicated airings of the show. On one occasion during an airing on BBC2 in the UK, the laugh track was accidentally left on, and viewers expressed their displeasure; an apology from the network for the "technical difficulty" was later released, for during its original run on BBC2 in the UK, it had been shown without the laugh track. UK DVD critics speak poorly of the laugh track, stating "canned laughter is intrusive at the best of times, but with a programme like M*A*S*H, it's downright unbearable."[20]

Kudos to starting this after the player of the year awards have not long finished 🤣

    Young player was Topi

    Player's player was Nisbet

    Fans' player was Shady Mo.

Goal of the season was Sokler v Hibs.

For me, my vote goes to Shinnie. Put in some fantastic performances early in the season, had a poor spell as did most of the team, but has bounced back strongly (not bad for a guy whose legs have gone) and has now switched to a new position.

Morris is arguably the most improved player, but has been an impact sub for a lot of the season and hasn't been consistent. Nisbet has been really good recently, but struggled for a huge part of the season and had fans wanting him sent back to Millwall in January.

Shinnie been more consistent, a leader, and hopefully a trophy winning captain in three weeks.

We'll miss him when he's gone. Enjoy him while you can.

This is the Donstalk Player of the year. Way more important and prestigious than the AFC one. 😉

Really intrigued by this one, if only to see where Shinnie lands. It’s amazing how few times he’s actually played at left back, but hopefully he’s enjoying his time there as he is ace. Clarkson may struggle against them given how tight they’ll likely be, but hopefully he’s got enough confidence to work his magic. don’t think Polvara is the answer, would probably be risky bringing him into fold against them. Hopefully PHG was just taking instructions a bit too far last weekend, but that said, his early season form was clearly a purple patch and we should be looking to move him on in the summer.

    2-1 Dons, nisbet and Shinnie

I might be reading this wrong, but Shinnie was a left-back when he first came to Aberdeen. He played left-back for Scotland as well, but I'm sure that's a game he would like to forget...

Shinnie for me has at most a season left in him. I don't think that warrants captaincy on its own. Anderson was different, as he was still playing to a high standard when he retired. Shinnie is still magic but only in glimpses. I'm of the view the captain needs to be in this order  (a) dominant, (b) consistent, (c) experienced, (d) an outfield player, (e) scottish. I'm not too fussed about (e) so long as they have the other 4 traits in spades.

I was checking whilst writing this, is Joe Lewis really our only season-long non-Scottish captain? Anthony Stewart was captain for the game and a half it took us to figure out he was rubbish, so I'm not counting him

Irishman Charles O'Hagan was the team captain from 1906-1910. He was also the first Aberdeen player to be capped for his country. He also went on to be the manager of Sevilla later on in life. He had a very interesting life.

Just finished this. An amazing read. The author has a masters in English literature and you can see that from the book. His description of the hell he went through cuts to the bone but there are a lot of beautiful moments as well.

That’s the moment he realises he gave up chance of ever being able to live in Aberdeen again and made his parents life a misery just to lose finals to Celtic in Hun blue instead of red.

I hope that his mum and dad are not taking the flack for the rat. Unless his parents were all for him moving to the Huns it's not their fault.

For the most part I dont see it as a slagging match although it’s what I’ve been used to over here for years. For that reason I’m just really explaining my side but won’t get into the deeper convo of guns, abortion, immigration , the economy etc. You get extreme views from both sides, and it’s obviously a very passionate topic.
i do factor in where people live and do feel that if you don’t live here you dont fully understand what is happening. For that reason I will ask where you are getting your info and how much you’ve heard. If you watch fox or cnn here you hear about two very different countries, and both sides are extremely guilty of exaggerating, partial truths, and lies. id say it’s even like rangers fans across the world who have never lived in scotland or even Britain.. Don’t think they realize what rangers really are.

A lot of good happened under trump’s previous presidency which does not get publicized or talked about. You can point to things people didn’t like but that’s every government and leadership. As I repeatedly say, the democratic media machine has been awful over the last 4 years. Plenty of people also spout shite because they are simply negative and like to complain. We take it seriously and actually did something about it, quitting jobs, lives, selling up and starting from scratch 2200 miles away. Don’t think many people would do that and actually do something to make their lives better.

my wife and I dont particularly like trump but having lived over here through his presidency and then biden’s, we cannot believe anyone would vote for the dems. I know people feel that way about trump and us. We truly feel the last 4 years have really hurt this country and the world, and we were terrified of another 4 years of this, especially the open border and the bussing/flying of all the illegal immigrants to republican states. The cost of living has gone nuts, we’re middle class, but it’s a real squeeze now. Not only did we move across country, I had to stop being a teacher/educator. Went to moray house in Edinburgh and have been in schools since 1994, but life is so expensive now that I couldn’t afford to stay in that profession so had to find a whole new career at age 50, fuck!. The fact that education has gone to shit made it easier to leave and look for something else, but financially, the economy and what has happened under the dems forced me out of education.

i know I’m in the severe minority here but I don’t see trump and Vance as bad as others. Trump is an awful speaker but is often misquoted and lied about. While he can put through executive orders, there’s also a process as you all know and I don’t see him scrapping democracy, this being the last ever election, him being a modern hitler, banning abortion, him starting world war 3, him scrapping the constitution and staying on past another 4 years. I do see him focusing on finance because we send billions overseas when we are is so much debt plus we need to fix things domestically. He will make significant change in government leadership here, like he did 4 years ago. He’s a businessman and fired a lot of underperforming career politicians. Both the dems and republicans have their corrupt pocket lining politicians who don’t do much and they are terrified of trump.

Not say it is a slagging match. Just don't want it to end up a slagging match. As I said, I've enjoyed reading the past few pages as It's good to see things from both sides.

Just looking at the financial markets which seem to have reacted favourably to the news

Nikkei in Japan up 2.6% overnight and FTSE 100 currently up 1.3%.

Interesting for those of us that follow these things to see what happens when the American markets open later today.

The impact of this will impact upon every single one of us in some way.

America sneezes and the rest of the world gets a cold.
