  1. Just found out who the Malahide United mob are that we play on Thursday. Seems they play in the Third tier in Ireland, the Leinster Senior League which has no automatic promotion to the main league system. They finished last season 9th out of 14.

    Surely shooty in

  2. oh and don't forget if you don't want to play football (or even if you do) and you want to head a long with a bunch of dandies from Glasgow to watch The Dons then don't forget about the Glasgow Reds.

We travel to every game during the season in one form or another, usually by public transport (cheapest and most beer friendly route available) but also get the occasional minibus when demand warrants it.

  3. Was always going to be a struggle for Consi so not worried.

On the other hand not good about Zola.  Need to get him fitted in the team, although if Vernon can find his shooting boots and McGinn, Josh, Smith and Shankland keep finding the net perhaps we won't need to worry so much

  4. Nae quite so good for some other teams:

Aberdeen began their pre-season friendlies with a 3-0 triumph away to Highland League Buckie Thistle on Tuesday night.

There were also comfortable away wins for Ross County, who defeated Clachnacuddin 5-0, and Inverness CT, who saw off Forres 3-0 thanks to a Billy McKay hat-trick.

However, Celtic went down 6-2 to Greuther Furth in Germany and Hearts were beaten 5-1 by Dinamo Bucharest. Promoted Partick Thistle enjoyed a 5-1 win at Annan.

  5. Hope he turns down the knighthood.

    Agree, but he won't.

However when did we start Knighting people in the middle of their careers. Surely it should be in recognition of their whole career once it has finished.

  6. And some like him too much

A Kettering man has built a good luck tribute to British tennis star Andy Murray.

The Scot beat Mikhail Youzhny at Wimbledon yesterday (Monday), and Nick Smith has put together his own symbol to inspire the home favourite to go one better than last year, when he lost in the final.

Mr Smith’s piece contains a number of symbols, including Murray Mints, plant seeds – representing the seeding system at Wimbledon – a Union flag and a picture of a kilt.

Mr Smith said he was not a particular Andy Murray supporter, but added: “I do like watching it now and again.

“It would be a lovely achievement for him (to win Wimbledon).”

  7. Rules:

    1. One name per points tally for the season, first come first served!

    2. Allowed to change guess at any point as along as it is to an empty tally
