  1. So Flood and Hayes likely to join Robson and Clark out injured.

Presumably Anderson and Zola won't manage 90mins again on saturday so probably a few changes.

See no reason why Low and Shankland can't feature.  Vernon might get a chance again after showing balls by taking the 5th penalty and Consi maybe in line for a return after 90mins last night.

Saints will be out to show that their hammering by united was a one off while our lads yet again have a lot to prove.

    So 0-0 then

  2. Yeovil got a last min equaliser v Birmingham from a throw in that the brummies had conceded to allow a player to get treatment.

Apparently they got a bit angry. Fucking idiots.

    Game has gone to pens

ffs apparently yeovil let City score straight from the ko of ET  :hammer:

  4. Who wants the jambos at Tynecastle in the next round - revenge is a dish best served cold  ;D

    Is it still seeded?

If so no chance of getting them due to the number of shocks (not least us winning a shoot out)

  5. Welcome back to Pittodrie Hartley, and with an Alloa side that have had a great start to the season

Haven't done one of these in a while, but seeing as it is a side we don't come up against very often...

Only played them 13 times in our history, with three coming since the turn of the millenium.  Each of those 3 games was memorable for different reasons.

2001 - an easy win that featured a Stavrum penalty so bad it left the ground

2009 - a far from easy win in atrocious conditions, I couldn't have been wetter if I had jumped in the Dee.  Celebrated Aluko's winner watching Sky Sports News in a nearby pub having left at half time

2010 -Routine win marred by an injury to Fyvie variously blamed on his choice of footwear or the synthetic pitch

We've never lost at home to them, and indeed only ever lost once, with Alloa only managing one goal at Pittodrie in 5 games.

Alloa's sole win came in the new Aberdeen's first ever season in a 1st round cup match.

  6. P.S Whats the story with the hun cunt Wilson getting a red after the game  ???

    Foul and abusive language apparently.

Quite what he was so upset about after a stunning win with 10-men against a clearly better I side only he knows.

    Youtube highlights:

  7. Some of these lads need to be getting first team games. Hearts are playing kids because they have to but it's resulting in a team with players that fight for a win.

Low and Smith in particular should be featuring at least from the bench most weeks by now.

IMHO the team was crying out for Low yesterday.  He, more than anyone, deserves a run out in the first xi.

  8. Deserved little from that game, but perversely could have won easily if we had taken a couple of the numerous chances we created and passed up.

The ref was, as per, a fucking shambles and gave us the weakest of at least three stone wall penalty claims, but we should never have been in a position to rely on them.

    A few specific points.

Weaver, as suggested by his brief appearance last week, is fucking shite.  Rightly getting the blame for the second, but the first also seemed to go right through him into the middle of the goal.

McGinn being our main (sole) goal threat needs to be played through the middle, he is completely wasted out wide.

Johnny for fuck sake take your man on out wide and stop cutting in.

I was actually advocating a starting place for Vernon pre match, but sadly regardless of his match sharpness (or lack of) his performance was too reminiscent of too many last year.

Just as two wins didn't make us champions elect, two defeats doesn't consign us to bottom six misery but McInnes needs to both bang a few heads together and have a rethink about how he wants to set up his team.  One goal from open play in three games means it's not hard to see where our problems lie and he needs to address this sooner rather than later.

Midweek v Alloa has potential disaster written all over it then a tough game v St Johnstone who will be smarting from a surprisingly bad result against United.  Perhaps a bit hysterical to say but we MUST win both games otherwise any fans that have been enticed back this season will drift away leaving us with sub 10,000 crowds again.

This is the first real set back since McInnes came on board, I look forward to seeing how we respond
