Went for McGhee.  The pain of his 18 months in charge is obviously still raw. 

 

I know all about the Alex Miller era but looking back at AFC Heritage website I don't believe I ever attended a game while he was in charge whereas I attended so many games under McGhee that left me so angry or disappointed.

Could it be that times were so bad when Miller was in charge you just didn't want to go full stop? Both were rank rotten though.

I didn't vote for either and I have stated my reason for who I voted for earlier in the thread but if it was down to MM or AM then I think I'd go with AM.

I never liked the appointment of Miller, he then went on to waste money while weakening the squad. I can't slag McGhee too much, I wasn't over the moon about his appointment but I wasn't displeased by it either. MM also weakened the team but circumstances are different now, we have less money and although nobody can defend his lack of fullbacks, Alex Miller certainly had more resources to make a success of things but instead blew it. For me Miller was worse.

I thought it was only straight reds for violent conduct that saw you miss the next game, I stand corrected if not however.

I think if a player got a red for violent conduct or dangerous play then they get banned for more than 1 match or it may be that the SPL have the option of banning a player for more than 1 match depending on the seriousness of the offence. As previously stated 2 yellows = 1 red = 1 match ban.

I saw this function when I first came onto this site the other week but now it has gone. Is there a reason for that?

The point being that the 10 would not be the ends but the means to it. I'm no fan of a 10 or 12, either is just as pish as a 16 team league if all the teams are pish but there's little point further impoverishing teams by further splitting the money pot up, certainly not in the short term when club's incomes are declining.

 

We also moved away from larger leagues than 10 or 12,  I'm assuming there were reasons behind that too.

To me it seems the ones at the top want to keep all the money and then let the rest fight for scraps. Personally I would rather see a bigger league and the wealth spread across more teams. Each team might get slightly less money but the competition will be better which might just increase gates.

Leave people to bicker in a thread, unless it's getting offensive what's the problem? Was someone not happy that the most popular thread on here was actually about the demise of a 'rival' site? That's the way it looks without.

Anyway have to say enjoying DT so far, refreshing.
