  1. The Dons have confirmed an area of Pittodrie Stadium will be designated a 'singing section' from the start of the forthcoming season.

An area within the upper section of the Richard Donald Stand has been allocated for those interested which, depending on numbers, can be extended while, if the initiative is a success, the concept of a permanent 'singing' area within the new stadium at Loirston Loch will be investigated.

A Pittodrie spokesperson outlined the details. "The Club is naturally keen to work with supporters in any way practical in order to generate a better atmosphere during matches and we held extremely positive discussions with the group who are keen to have their own area within the stadium.

"We would wish to attract supporters of all ages to the singing area and those within will 'self police' proceedings ensuring that songs or chants of an inappropriate nature are not being included in the repertoire.

"At the outset, the section at one side of the RDS Upper will be offered for the area and, if there is sufficient interest, that area can be extended. That particular area of the stadium is arguably the most vociferous within Pittodrie and, if the initiative is really successful, it is hoped the whole of the RDS Upper will, in effect, become the 'singing area'.

"And with the move to the new stadium, where the creation of the right atmosphere is one of the cornerstones of its design, not that far away, the plan would be to incorporate a similar area, ideally behind one of the goals, from day one."

Season tickets for the singing area are now on sale while anyone wishing to transfer to the area from another part of the stadium can do so via the ticket office. Any fan wishing to purchase a ticket for the area on a match by match basis must pre-purchase their brief from the ticket office.

  2. Surely we can't ask the SPL to reduce ticket prices?

Other teams are able to bring in lots of fans, so should we.

Yes, we need the team to stop being arseholes, but what motivation are they going to have if the fans aren't even turning up?

  3. Are we gonna get any news songs for the new season?

I'm sick of all the Celtic fans singing their wet 'just can't get enough.'

We need to get behind the team next year and get bigger crowds back to Pittodrie!

  4. Here is an e-mail I got from the club regarding the strips and only being available in club shops:

The main reason we do not sell the kits in other sports outlets is because it is extremely difficult to agree with them that they will not be allowed to retail them at any discount. For example, if we give the rights to JJB to sell our stock, they legally are able to sell a shirt at £20 if they wish which obviously is of no benefit to AFC

However, this is something the Club will continue to investigate with various sports companies and should the right deal be possible and advantageous to the Club and its fans then we will of course pursue it

  5. Yes, we travelled in our thousands. Sang in the bus, train, car, pub....

WTF happened after the first goal?! FFS, get behind the team and fucking sing! Whether Pa Broon playing 5-4-1, 5-3-2 or 9-1, we are still Aberdeen. Known for our away support, barmy army, 12th man. Where the fuck was that today? Majority just sat there mute  :hammer:

I know I'll get stick for not being there, however, If i didn't have exams i would have been.

Anyhow, even I heard there was no singing on the shitty stream I was watching. There was some at the start and some after the goal we scored but that was it!
