  1. ABERDEEN FC boss Craig Brown today revealed he’s ready to loan out some of his fringe players to create space for more signings.

Brown is determined to shuffle his pack after seeing some of his back-up men fail to shine in their 1-0 SPL defeat to St Mirren in Paisley.

Aberdeen FC were without injured trio Youl Mawene, Fraser Fyvie and Chris Clark, and had Ryan Jack suspended for the clash with the Buddies.

Hopefully get someone in before Celtic!

  2. Craig Brown has confirmed this afternoon that Richard Foster will be the new Aberdeen FC captain for season 2011/12.

Richard spoke to RedWeb shortly after he was told the news this afternoon "I must admit it came as something of a shock when the gaffer told me he was making me captain as there are more senior players in the squad. It's a tremendous honour and a privilege to have been asked and I will do everything I can to justify the faith the manager has shown in me. I played under Russell Anderson and Scott Severin here and learned a lot from both of them and I'm sure that will stand me in good stead.

"It's not just about the skipper though. You can be the best captain in the world but if the team doesn't gel, it won't happen. However, I've seen enough since I've come back to the club to see that this is a close knit group and one that gets on well together and we're all confident ahead of the new season."

  3. Aberdeen FC shrug off claims on Russell Anderson

NO MOVE: Russell Anderson is staying at Derby County.

ABERDEEN FC today dismissed reports claiming they have failed with a bid to take former skipper Russell Anderson back to Pittodrie.

Aberdeen FC boss Craig Brown confirmed he spoke to Anderson – who left Aberdeen to join Sunderland in a £1 million deal in 2007 and now plays for Derby County – last week.

But he insisted he wasn’t attempting to persuade Scotland international Anderson, 32, to return to his home town club.

Anderson still has a year left on his contract with the Rams.
