  1. he never showed he could make us any better than what? when he took over we were relegation fodder. he gave us a team that spanked copenhagen, outfought bayern, played in madrid, qualified for the last 32 in europe when he left, we are relegation fodder again its not rocket science! he transformed us in 5 years, imagine what he could have done with another 5 years i HONESTLY feel we missed out on something big when we sacked that man
  2. thing is though matey, who knows how much further he could have, given time? everyone harks back to alex ferguson all the time ok, at man u, how soon did he make significant process? jimmy transformed our team and club in 5 years into what i described above. imagine what he could do with another 5 years. jimmy himself was a big personality and for that reason, he was able ot handle big personality players. Your Langfields, your Diamonds, your Alukos.
  3. i have incredible, manly legs you see. it was for the ladies
  4. haha under jimmy, i expected us to win at home to anyone. even the old firm. under jimmy i knew we'd at least put up a bit of a fight in glasgow too. under jimmy i knew we'd be fighting for europe most seasons under jimmy i knew we'd get to the latter stages of the cups most seasons under jimmy i knew we had a manager who loved not only the club, but the city he had us as an established top 4 SPL team, one teams feared coming to play against and one who had put their name back on the european map he done all of that within what, 5 years of taking over the mess he did imagine what he could have done if he was given ANOTHER 5 years?
  5. thing is, how many season tickets would you imagine we could sell for the stadiums first full season? im sure itll delight the glasgow based dons to know that ill be getting my first season ticket when its built. (not just because its a new stadium, but because the timing ties in with my long term life plan too!) id say that a brand new stadium would inspire a damn sight more fans to get one too?
  6. its quite exciting though, as id trust craig brown with money way more than i would have mcghee and maybe even calderwood too brown must have a vast network he can call upon for players. just look at the ones he got at motherwell, with a wee bit of financial muscle he'll hopefully be able to get a higher standard again
  7. completely right walking about madrid in my kilt and my dons top, most people who walked by looking at the top and coming and shaking your hand christ, being in madrid to watch the dons play...just everything about that trip was absolutely immense and even though im jealous of the older fans for having that on a regular basis, it was also special on its own merits this time we were mixing it with the big boys in a time when it was COMPLETELY unknown for the "provincial" spl teams to do so imagine how jealous you'd have been if you'd seen hibs/hearts/dundee utd fans on the telly mixing in the square of madrid, or bouncin about in the vicente calderon we could have been on the cusp of something right good at aberdeen and i still believe we made a massive mistake sacking jimmy
  8. yes, it was mighty. we qualified for the last bleedin' 32 in the europa league!
  9. aww, its bitter-sweet for me watching that AMAZING memories of a fantastic night, but my how the mighty have fallen it's wrong, wrong that we're so dire now after watching those highlights back lee miller dominating, setting everything up. just the whole team with a real zip about them gutted.
