  1. If kids see a Dons top hanging up next to the likes of Celtic, Rangers, Chelsea and Man Utd I think they're more likely to buy the Dons top and ultimately support them.

Totally disagree on this one, think 9 times out of 10 the kids would choose one of the other teams. The one out of 10 would be Aberdeen fans who go to the club shop anyway!

  2. Exactly what I was thinking. Add to that, supporting Rangers/Celtic/Man United/Chelsea/Arsenal etc etc appears to be more 'fashionable' than supporting a team getting humped 9-0, kids will be wanting to support teams that win trophies and or on the tv.

Yeah but how is selling AFC strips in sports shops going to turn around people's viewpoints on that one?

  3. Yeah, think we'd need it to be a warm day and you'd be talking crazy reductions to get people through the gates, quid for all type talk before folk would even consider it. That would therefore ailenate the season ticket holders still further so club's in non win position.

  4. Exactly my thinking too; 6 new players will be reduced because one new signing can play in two different positions and having Fyvie and Folly back will be like having new signings etc.

And we probably have Foster back...so that's like 3 new signings to the board and there's bound to be 3 youngsters ready for promotion so we'll spend the rest of the budget on the new jackie mcnamara.

  5. Whether we were any good or not is not the argument here. Consi meant no malice. As Lennon said, he went for the tackle, he lost the pace battle. Nothing wrong with this. Anywhere else on the park and you've got a chance of not even being carded. He did not deserve to walk for that.

I know its the rules, but its a stupid rule. Who the hell enjoys watching 70 minutes of 11 men outplaying 10 men?

For what its worth I thought we matched Celtic until the red card

Aye, I said the same in the rest of the post you didn't quote.  What I was saying though is if the situation was reversed it wouldn't have ruined the game as a contest, celtic going down to 10 men.

  6. I'll always support them... but time to give up?

I think I gave up years ago.

The teams I've seen at Aberdeen have literally gone from sublime to ridiculous.  There are teams from our past who won little in terms of trophies but I was immensely proud of them and absolutely loved watching them play football.  This lot can't even master the basics. I feel so disconnected from the club.  The other night we played the huns, a game I used to never miss at Pittodrie... I was uninterested in it the other night. Only knew the result because a mate text me about it. Going today was nothing about the game and everything to do with socialising with old friends I hadn't seen for a while.  The club is dead. The support is the only breathing thing left but that is rapidly running out of puff itself.

Message is clear to Milne... get a team worthy of the name and the jersey on the pitch and the club will be fine. Buck the trend of your stewardship and make sure it happens. If you don't, you'll be the man who over sees the death of AFC, and it is quite a remarkable job you have done of that.

I hear you, my wife doesn't understand why I have to have a drink when I go but in truth it wasn't for the social aspect I wouldn't be going at all.

  7. A yellow card was the right decision, if it was even a penalty, which I doubt.

Isn't the real issue that we're shit with 11 therefore have no chance with 10? If it was at the other end and celtic were reduced to 10 it wouldn't have ruined the game as a contest because they are much superior to us.

The truth is we're fucking crap and we can't expect FIFA to bail us out of this one.

  8. Gutted. Trying to hold on to the belief that Considine's red card ws wrong, not sure why as they had carved us open twice in the first few minutes so we were in for a total pumping regardless.

I am glad that the season is almost over now.  Been attending since Brechin/Dunfermline pre season, still remember the hope after pumping Alloa in the League Cup whilst top of the league. This has long since evaporated and bar perhaps Hibs away, for me the season is over.

Don't know if I can stomach another season of this  : 4 semi final hammerings in 3 years, conceding 16 fkn goals  :(
