    Anyone been watching ahsoka?

Have seen the first 2. I liked that they used the first episode to catch people up who haven't seen the animated SW series. I've struggled with the animated series, indeed only got half way thru the first season of Clone Wars before I got bored. Enjoying Ahsoka, although nothing beats the first two seasons of Mando

Saw the first one, I can see why folk like it if that's your bag but it bored the shit out of me.

I was very late onto The Godfather bandwagon, but I agree I don't see what makes it such an iconic film. I love a good Mafia movie, but I put Goodfellas, Donnie Brasco and Untouchables well above the GF Trilogy. Pesonal opinion though

has to be bavidge on loan, he needs it. Gueye gives us a very different look and I’d guess having four solid players to rotate is the plan. Bavidge is 5, get him out somewhere for the experience and minutes.

Agreed. Get him out to the Championship, or maybe one of the League One challengers like Stirling or Hamilton. Give him a chance to shine in a team that can provide consistent chances

  4. Haven't seen any highlights yet, have only read the Beebs report. One thing that stands out to me, why aren't we rotating the squad? Shouldvr gone with Sokler and Bavidge up front, given Duk and Miovski a rest ahead of Thursday. We have cover in most other areas too, so why does Robbo want to stick with his same usual starting 11 at all costs?

  5. Southampton looking at Miovski as a potential replacement for Che Adams who has moved to Everton. Dons apparently holding out for at least £4M for him, which is well within Southampton's reach. Not sure how I feel about this - £4M is a hell of a lot of money to us, but Miovski is our proven striker. His second half vs Hacken was just top drawer

The biggest problem with Sokler is that it's difficult to tell the difference between him and Miovski. The club have either got to stop playing them together or force one of them into a drastic haircut. Miovski was here first, so it really should be Sokler that takes the punishment.

One of them should grow a Bobby Connor-style tache. Then we can tell the difference

Yeh, supporting Aberdeen is self interest. I don't sit and hope that over the next 5 years all the trophies will be evenly shared out among all the clubs.

This. Whilst I do give a wee nod in appreciation when Scottish teams notch up a result in European football, I do also give a wee snigger when they get beaten. I really couldn't give two fks for any other team than the Dons - coefficient or not

  8. People have really been on the fence with this world cup. Some have loved that the women's game is getting such a huge airing and following. Others are bemoaning the lack of quality, likening it to amateur football at best.

I've really enjoyed the games I've watched, but one thing really really sticks out. There are very very few international grade goalkeepeers who are capable of saving a shot. I can't figure out if its a genuine lack of talent, or if the ladies simply aren't of a stature that allows them to cover the full face of the goal. In mens football, goalies are predominantly towering lumps. But in the women's game, they regularly seem to be either lacking in height, or flexibility, or both

  9. Didn't see the game, but read a few reports. The one comment that stands out is Robson commenting on Albions decision not to water the pitch, thus reducing our opportunities to run it. I'm sorry, but we are a pro team who until recently used to train at Balgownie. We should be able to adapt our game to different pitch conditions fairly easily. If all it takes to have us struggling is to forget to water the pitch, we are gonna struggle this season away from home

He does only have a year left on his deal.  Same with polvara.  We could defo do with extending these two pronto

I'd be surprised if Roos moves on soon. His missus Nadine Hanssen only signed for the Dons Women recently. His family are fairly settled here. I'd be happy if he extended his contract.

Polvara however.... I'm in the wait & see camp. Yes he's been better so far this season, but he's still below the standard I'd expect. Would he get into our 2014-2017 teams? Cos those teams are the standard I expect

Japan are so confident playing out the back when you’d think they’d lose it, rarely did.

Japan have been technically excellent for some time but have lacked a spark of creativity required to get wins regularly. They found this spark in Miyazawa who is just an exceptional talent.

    Michael Parkinson.

Huge shame. He brought so many celebs to our living rooms, arguably the guy who introduced us all to Billy Connolly

Given our finances are so limited

Are they? COVID set us back a bit, but Dave has said multiple times we don't need to sell. Selling Ramadani to me sounds like a price came in for him that we simply didn't see coming, and was well above our own internal valuation of him.

Ramsay and Fergies sales would've somewhat offset our COVID debt, maybe someone closer to our finances can advise whether they are indeed limited

  14. Yeah I was pleased to see all the old crew posting here after over a decade away. But I was surprised there's nobody new on here regularly.

The old girl definitely needs an injection of new blood. I like the AFC and Non-AFC separate forums, but looking at other team forums randomly quite a number of them have all football in one forum.

Maybe merge all the non-football forums together as one "Off Topic" forum to begin with?

Game with Stirling to be on a Friday night, but not on TV.

It's because Stirling Uni playing Gartcairn on the Saturday and they use Forthbank. Other choice was Sunday but Alan Burrows has explained on Twitter that gave Aberdeen less time to prepare for the EL play-off.

Facebook morons are going into meltdown, blaming SFA for the Friday night time without being on TV. I'm glad DT is here to keep me sane and tell us how it is

New Meadowbank is an awful place to watch football. Cannot understand how it’s been passed as a venue for league football.

Is that the same old venue Meadowbank Thistle used to play at? Thr old commonwealth stadium? Absolute shithole if it is

I'd blame the design of Eden Park.
Terrible stadium for atmosphere compared to the 'Cake Tin' and whatever the new Dunedin stadium is called (They still had the 'house of pain' Carisbrook when I was there).

Yeah the caketin and Forsyth Barr Stadium in dunedin are both superb for atmosphere. Eden is good when cricket is being played there, but for some reason it is shit when rugby or football are played there. There's a grand plan to build a new stadium at Aucklands main harbour and then bulldoze Eden Park. But that's gonna be many tears away, cos kiwis are shit at committing to big construction projects
