In my opinion, a couple of the people here seem to be missing the point.
The fact that AFC might be missing out on the odd season ticket purchase is irrelevant. If you are in a full time job, i.e. earning a lot more than a student, then you should pay full price. When I go to a game, I pay full price. That should be the same for everyone. I couldn't really give a fuck if you think you are 'helping the club out' by paying a student price instead of just not going, and therefroe giving the club nothing. That's not the point. It is quite simply unfair that an adult, who is employed and not a student, gets off with paying £120 less a season than someone else in the same situation.
I sincerely hope that those who get caught trying to get into the ground with unbder 12/student tickets, when they are neither under 12 or a student, have the option of paying for a full price ticket there and then, or their tickets ripped up at the gate.

Looks like all the cheapskates that have been paying student/u12 prices when they should have paid full price are in for an embarassing situation when they try to enter the ground...

With Hartley scoring more goals in one game than most of the team did in a whole season, will he continue to be our top scorer throughout the season. Or will Mackie find some form, Maguire come of age and score like he did at Killlie and Scotland U-21 or will Magennis turn around his stuttering start and begin scoring?
How can you say Magennis has had a stuttering start? We've only palyed one game!!

Almost that time of the week again... This week has seemed like a very long one for some reason.
Quiet weekend planned for me - watching a lot of football on tv. Sky Sports and ESPN subscriptions seem very expensive when the fitba season isn't on - will be nice to actually get some use of them!

I think there is a bit of pre-season excitement this time round.
We have got rid of Kerr and McDonald, which has pleased most, and replaced them with proven quality in Hartley. And maybe Folly will prove to be a shrewd signing. We know that if we aren't scoring goals 60 mins into games, then we have a plethora of new options on the bench ready to come on. Aluko and Pawlett are back - two top quality players at this level, and Fraser Fyvie now has a bit of experience under his belt and will have a good season, imo.
Off the pitch, the new stadium plans look ace, and mark McGhee is talking less to the press (or is saying less stupid things about new signings etc) which is good. I'm looking forward to tomorrow ,and the new season overall.
Her's how I think we should line up tomorrow. (Foster is suspended)
Langfield
McArdle Diamond Ifil Considine
Young Hartley Folly
Pawlett Aluko
Vernon
Subs: Howard, McGennis, Mackie, Fyvie, Maguire, Paton
After writing that - we actually half an OK team, with lots of options on the bench.
COYR!!!!!

Suddenly when you see the squad, you realise it's looking terribly paper thin.
Was just going to post something very similar...
We still seem to be suffering from a chronic lack of creativity in the middle of the park, unless hartely and Folly do more than the defensive midfiedler jobs.
-
I think we will get 9.
The two home games we should win, imo, quite comfortably. Away to St Johnstone I think we can sneak a 1-0 win.
-
They will start losing as soon as Gary McDonald is placed in the centre of midfield. It will be hard for them to beat us with only 10 men imo...

Vettel really cost me at the weekend
Had a nice accumulator on him to win the GP (1/2), Jenkins to beat caven in the darts (5/6), Arsenal to beat Celtic (4/11) and Lyon to draw with Milan (12/5).
He was absoloutely cruising - about 5 secs ahead after only 5 laps - before he messed up when the safety car came out. Stupidly got himself a drive through penalty for failing to stay within 10 lengths of Webber behind the safety car. He admitted himself after that it would have been a 'walk in the park' to win the GP had he not made such a stupid error. Safe to say I wasn't best chuffed!

*BIRMINGHAM*
OUTS:
Colin Doyle –Plymouth– £250k
David Murphy –Aberdeen– £600k
Keith Fahey –Blackpool– £1m
Jay O'Shea –Milwall– £500k
Marcus Bent –Swansea– £800k
Great news everyone! We are about to pay £600k for a left-back that has been injured since April 2009

Probably pish though.
Anyone bought an EE today to see what Hendrie has actually said? The deals for Hartley, Folly and Vernon have been concluded so efficiently and professionaly by AFC. This one has been messed up though. Should never have had him pictured on official site wearing AFC top, official site referrring to him as 'new signing' in thge Dunfermline report etc...
Please just get him signed, and we will make up for his wages (in some form) by season ticket sales. if the deal is off, then just tell us ajnd move on.
-
I'm confused...so Middlesborough now employ Lee Miller to do stadium/training ground tours?
-
Typical Ferrari. I thought it was a decent race as well. The first few laps were action packed! Vettel made a huge error in trying to block of Alonso and ultimately paid the price for it. If I was Massa, I'd be absolutely seething with rage.
Massa was clearly very angry at the end of the race - basically refusing to embrace Alonso and more or less admitting in the press conference after that team orders took place.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSHHHHH
I don't understand the need for your comment.
-
Hardly an exclusive to be fair...
Pretty much everyone knew he would most likely be going back to Hearts.
-
Great argument.
Emm I'm not arguing anything...
Has someone upset you today?!
-
You miserable gits!

For the first time in ages, I actually fell quite positive about the club. I didn't think I would be saying that after defeats to the Broch and Dunfermline...
Looks like Hendrie is on board now, which I think is an excellent signing. Maybe not as fast as he used to be, but a hell of a lot more talented than most of the players he will be coming up against this year. Nice to see we are going after Hartley as well - another good player with experience and quality.
I also like the fact that we have brought in a heep of trialists - which looks like giving us a couple of really good players - Williams in particular I think will prove to be a very good signing from what I have seen of him (if we get him)
It's Clear that MM and WM have been busy behind the scenes trying to freshen up the team - and they look like they have done that with quality. So for one of the first times in ages - I say well done AFC. Really looking forward to the new season .
-
Wouldn't necessarily be that disappointed if it were to be Killen.
Thought he wasn't really given a fair crack of the whip at the Tattie Bowl.
Jon Macken is a name that seems to have been getting bandied about a fair bit as well.
As long as its not Keigan Parker
It's definitely not Keigan Parker - he signed for Mansfield two days ago.
Macken or Killen would be great signings for us. Macken in particualr - but I'm pretty sure he would get a game somewhere in the Championship/League 1.
-
Has to be Diamond for me (of the players we already have)
Was a difficult season for him last year, but I think giving him the captain's armband would do him the world of good. Guaranteed never to hide when things aren't going so well on the pitch, drives the team forward with his forays up the park, isn't scared to dish out the odd rollocking, and, of course, he is one of our top players.
-
I can't really understand why we had a picture of Hendrie, smiling and wearing the AFC training top at Todders, if we haven't already signed him. I'm sure a lot of other clubs knew of his availability - but those that didn't now know of course.
If it turns out he does well against Dunfermline, then someone else comes in for him, then I think questions have to be asked of AFC over this.
Dodn't want to be too negative though - I think this is a really good move by McGhee and Co. A big-name(ish) player with bags of experience, a proven reputation at a high level - lets get him signed up ASAP.
-
That team should walk the SPL - I doubt they will get the likes of Bellamy, Bullard and Ledley though...
I'd be surprised to see Keane back as well. Bellamy would easily get a game for a top-half team in the English Prem.
Hartley back in Scotland squad
