Hartley - Player/Manager

I have it on good authority that Paul Hartley will be named player/manager for the rest of the season, when McGhee gets the sack. McGhee will be sacked tomorrow morning if we do not win the match tonight.

Ok...I don't have it on good authority. I just made that up. But I do think it will happen.

It's a shame he's out of contract at the end of the season - but I don't really blame the club for that. In the last season or two, he simply hasn't merited a new offer. Now, though, the club should pull the finger out and offer him a new deal, as he actually deserves one.

Foster just signed a long-term deal, on decent money i guess. Maybe the Huns have been nice enough to pay all of Foster's and velicka's wages? That desperate to get Foster in?

I'm also a bit confused by the freeing up wages comment.

Why such a negative reaction here?

We have swapped a player that couldn't get a game for us, with a proven international goalscorer. I think this is a very good deal. Velicka has always impressed me. If Foster does well for them, then he comes back here a more valuable player next season. It's not like he will score vs us, as he wont be allowed to play!

Not sure which result will come from which match though...

Just saw the highlights on sportscene. Yes he never cleared it, but what was going on with Howard? What was Diamond doing in the preceding challenge? Why did Hartley stop and look at the ref rather than chase the ball down?

I was also wondering why an experienced goalkeeper got no criticism for the part he played, and the youngster gets slated? Better communication/decision making from both players might have stopped the goal.
