  1. TRF still exists, I subscribe to it so get it delivered to my door but you can still buy it on the street outside Pittodrie if you can find Merkie.

Still got some cracking cartoons and the notes and quotes bit is good.  Other than that Merkie continues to write incredibly long pieces in incredibly small print in the finest obe tradition.

Sadly it's the only one on the go these days but I suppose the internet has taken over, however there are fee fan penned articles about; a few on mad but that is about it these days, probably space in the market for a dedicated afc blog.

Cheers GS. How do you go about subscribing to it? I clicked on the link to the Red Final from the officla AFC site, but it appears that redfinal.com domain is now for sale/not being used.

  2. I used to read The Red Final now and again, and there was one called 10MWTW a while back as well.

Do these or related AFC fanzines still exist? In a paper format I mean, and sold outside the ground on matchdays?

  3. Yes it is somewhere else on the interwebs Amp, congratulations on successfully stalking me on Facebook.

Here's another pic of mine that's now out there in cyberspace:

    ;D

And ST takes the chequered flag!

B to the O to the O to the M.

I was on the wind up min. I've never seen the photo on the net, and have no idea about your facebook and would never want to see it.

    Couple of things, though.

'Jealous much' - my nephew says that sometimes. He's 7.

Calling someone a gaylord is a bit immature.

    Your photo looks distinctly photoshopped.

Soory it took so long to reply. Haven't been on this thread for some time.

    All the best,

    Amp

  4. Getting the new home top for a mate with his name printed on the back - does anyone know how long this takes if you order at the club shop on Bridge Street? I.e. do they print the shirts there and then? If they send the top away somewhere to get it printed, then I might as well just order online rather than trail over to Bridge St.

  5. 'Work hard, get off your arse, do some extra hours to earn the money'.

    Etc, etc, etc.

Perhaps some of the older generation need to understand that a lot of the younger generation work just as hard as you did. Do the same amount of hours that you did. Are probably significantly more intelligent aged 25 than you were when you were age 25.

The difference being that the older generation (buying houses 7-20 years ago had access to a HUGE amount of lenders, offering you 100% mortgages and the like, whether you had a good credit history or not. You probably had to pay a tiny deposit. Today, such lenders simply do not exist. One missed/late credit card payment will stop most from getting a mortgage. And if you get past that stage, you are probably going to have to raise at least a £20-30,000 deposit in order to prove to the bank that you can pay back what they lend, plus interest.

We (wife to be and I) are in mid 20s, and were lucky enough in that we had the deposit money and a decent credit rating 2 years ago when we bought. Most others don't have that. It does bug me when the young are told to get off their arses and work harder if they want to get a property - this is simply missing the point by a huge margin.

  6. Right so eveyones for yet another game being taken away from 3pm on a Saturday then?

Cannot see how putting it on work night evening is going to increase the attendance. It being on a Friday evening just makes it harder for people who have to travel any distance to attend without taking time off work. Idiotic.

Do you understand the concept of a pilot project? If it doesn't work, then maybe it won't happen again. But there is absoloutely nothing wrong with trying something new. Attendances in the SPL are becoming pathetic -  think AFC and the SPL should be applauded for at least trying to do something about it.

  7. In/Out: Out

    Pre match: Home

    Match: Home

    Post Match: Pub

    Prediction: 1-1

St. Mirren actually looked pretty good the other night. Thompson, Teale, Hasselbaink and some other guy (he was wearing no.10) will give many SPL defences a hard time this year. They definitely will not be relegation candidates (imo).
