It was obvious but somebody had to do it. The less 'amusing' reply is that, on the evidence so far, we have got the new Paul Kane and Ray McKinnon in centre midfield.
-
Nae chance. Maist of them are in their forties.
-
I don't think Aitken should have been allowed within 500yds of our club.
It was change that kept us up, not Aitken.
-
We should just buy him back for pennies like we did with Jess.
I doubt if it will happen though, he's more likely to go on loan to another English club like Plymouth.

A. Miller
Burkinshaw
Aitken
All cunts of the highest order!
Amen brother. Praise the Lord, hallelujah!
-
To be honest, I blame him for wrecking my Pittodrie career.
Even before Miller took over the writing was on the wall for me as Keith Burkinshaw used to make me train on my own in the afternoons.
So he blames Miller but in the very next sentence he says it was Burkinshaw who was forcing him out.
Anti-Miller headlines will get the fans onside and sell a few more copies of the EE than anti-Burkinshaw ones though I suppose.

The poster said they would feature not that they would start. I would expect several of the players from yesterdays reserve game to feature in at least 23 games this seasom - Diamond, Mair, Young, Wright, Mackie and Duff.
The poster said "7 or 8" so I challenged him to name eight. That's six.
-
Great chatting with you.

Neither will i. This is a discussion forum and was discussing this. Can't see why you are getting your knickers in a twist over it.
Now you're just contradicting yourself. You said:
7 or 8 of our side will feature more often than not in the first team this season and worrying they lose to Inverness youths!!
Yesterday you were worried, and today you're not.
-
1) What would you call it? Not involved with first team?
2) And who has mentioned we are doomed? Just said bit worrying that 11 first team squad players lost to Inverness youths.
3) If the rest are just fringe players then we have just 12 regulars in total - the 11 from Saturday and Diamond. Young played 35 times last season, Mackie 26 and was injured for large part of season and Mair even managed 24. Duff played exactly half the games after he signed aswell. You think Wright will be just a squad player?
4) I will say what i like. Who are you to tell folk what to say and not to say?
Oh no! You've booed me! How will I get over this humiliating catastrophe.
Did Young, Mackie, Mair or Duff start on Saturday? Diamond didn't because he's recovering from injury, but I repeat he's the only first team mainstay in that team so I won't be losing any sleep that the reserves lost.
-
1) Bossu will be on bench every game unless Langfield gets inured.
2-5) Diamond, Duff, Mackie and Young did it last season
6) Wright will undoubtedly feature either from start or from bench every week.
7) Mair will be on bench every week and may play a fair bit too if injuries kick in. He did last season and played 24 games.
8-11) Young lads Smith, Pawlett, Stewart and Strachan all in first team squad and at least 1 will be on the bench each week with U21 rule in effect.
Are you seriously telling me that you were counting those who will sit on the bench as "featuring in the first team"?
In which case, what's your point? Diamond aside, they are fringe players. Only Diamond is a first-team mainstay, and this match was about him getting fitness after injury so the score is irrelevant.
Keep your "We're doomed!!" sensationalism for the Hat and the mailing list.

7 or 8 of our side will feature more often than not in the first team this season and worrying they lose to Inverness youths!!
Okay, let's say that (including a couple of cup runs) we play 45 games this season. "More often than not" would mean they start 23 games for us this term.
Name the 8 players from that team that will play 23 games for us this season.

ABERDEEN FAN PETER MURCHIE, 37, FROM ABERDEEN
"Aberdeen fans can face the new season with a high degree of optimism. One can never read too much into pre-season friendlies, but an astonishing reverse at the hands of the Blue Toon notwithstanding, the lads have done fantastically well.
"A fine showing against the Champions of Europe and victory over Dutch cracks Vitesse Arnhem suggests we have little to fear from anything the SPL can throw at us.
''Jimmy Calderwood, for my money, the best pound for pound manager in the SPL, has spent wisely and added strength and depth to the squad with the signings of Mark Kerr; Gary McDonald; Charlie Mulgrew; Sammy Stewart, and Tommy Wright.
''Taking a balanced view and looking at the facts, 2008-2009 strikes me as the year when we may see the re-emergence of the New Firm, since there is little doubt that Levein is a man worth his salt.
''Nevertheless, if Calderwood gets the backing of the fans and Scotland's stingiest board, I don't think the Champions League is beyond us. Come On Your Reds!''
That's the fat fuckin postie that.

I've been offered £8.71 but the Super Streak is still there, should I press Deal or No Deal?

If this thread was a conversation in a pub, I would've gone to the puggy by now.

Quick question: how much sweet could a sweetchuck chuck if a sweetchuck could chuck sweets?

This is probably about as much as we could have hoped for from this situation.
The Filth are still quids in, but at least that cash is coming out of their fans' giros, and not from our wages.
...which it always has, because previously they charged their fans a booking fee.
We'll still subsidise them slightly, I think: 5% of the ticket price is more than £1, unless the tickets are £20... I expected they would be closer to £25, but I could be wrong. If that was the case, I would have bumped the Category A prices up by £1.50 or £2.
But we're also charging them 5% now too, which will presumably make up the shortfall.
-
ah ok, they are giving our fans a discount
...of 100% of the ticket price increase.
still paying the OF
...with the extra money we're talking from their fans.
7/10 though, and probably the best we could have hoped for
10/10 from me, brilliant creative accounting AFC. Credit where its due.
-
AFC have reintroduced categories.
The OF are category A and everyone else is category B.

Notice a lot of folk just saying "a cup final". Surely it is all about winning the cup, not just being there on the big day? We're not Dundee United, for fucks sake!
Anything can happen on the day of a cup final, so just being there is the key for me.
-
As the title says, what will make a successful season?
There was a report on the Dons prospects on Sky Sports website and it basically says JC has to win a trophy this season. Do you agree?
Would qualifying for Europe suffice?
Is there a chance of splitting the Old Firm?
Top four and a cup final.

Yaaas!
A big tough bastard. Just what we need up front.
He is the ying to Lee Miller's yang.
I still think he sounds like the ying to Lee Miller's ying. We're crying out for a yang. We haven't had a yang since Billy Dodds' first season with us.
I'm also concerned that, if this hard bastard stuff proves to be the case, the refs will target Wright and he'll just end up giving loads of free-kicks away rather than putting the fear of God into defenders. Defenders will just need to do a Pressley to deal with him - bump into him and go down.
However, none of us have seen him play yet (and might never do...) so I'll give him a chance.

Yeah, I'm only being deliberately knee-jerk.
I give them three games.
