Aberdeen to sign Man City keeper David Gonzalez
The Dons have negotiated a deal to bring the 28-year-old Colombian to Pittodrie for a six-month period.
Gonzalez joined City in January 2010 but is yet to make a first-team appearance and had a loan spell with Leeds United last season.
Chris Oldfield, a 20-year-old goalkeeper formerly on the books at Liverpool, is on trial with the Dons.
Manager Craig Brown aims to add two new shot-stoppers to his squad, with Jamie Langfield sidelined until October and Mark Howard released at the end of last season.
Langfield suffered a seizure last month and while he has returned to light training with his team-mates he is out of competitive action until the autumn.
Former Coventry City midfielder Isaac Osbourne and Spanish midfielder Andoitz Galdos Gabas are also training with Aberdeen at the moment.

If he goes it will really show how idiotic our club has become, he's still under contract let him keep progressing and sell him
when we'll get a good 7 figure sum for him and actually make it benefit US for a change!
Players out / Players in ratio doesn't really add up for me. So we've signed one defender, plus one other (probably midfielder), and brought Foster back, to replace Hartley, Smith, Young, Diamond, Maguire, Aluko and Macnamee?
it'll be the same old shite "having Foster, Fyvie and Folly will be like having 3 new signings blah blah blah!"

Chris Maguire: I'll stay at Aberdeen if new deal is for two years
May 15 2011 Anthony Haggerty, Sunday Mail
TWO-GOAL hero Chris Maguire last night told Aberdeen he will stay if they shorten the length of deal on offer.
The hitman insisted he is still undecided about his future on the day Jamie Langfield committed himself to Pittodrie for another 12 months.
Maguire, 22, is out of contract this summer and has refused to sign a three-year contract.
But he will put pen to paper if the club reduce the terms to two years.
Maguire said: "I haven't made my mind up. If it is my last goals for Aberdeen, it's a nice way to go.
"It's a three-year deal but I'm trying to narrow that down to a two-year deal. Hopefully something will be sorted in the next week or so."
Dons boss Craig Brown said: "I hope Chris stays. I also urge him to take extreme caution before making any decision.
"JimO'Brien left Motherwell last season and is not getting a game for Barnsley after setting the SPL on fire.
"No matter how brilliant Chris is it is a different ball game in England.
"If I were his dad or agent I'd say 'give it another couple of years and then you go on a big transfer and you're right into a Premiership team and because they've paid £2million for you, they play you'.
"He is in a comfortable environment at Pittodrie and Craig Levein has already picked him so he does not need to go south to play for Scotland.
"Aberdeen have put a lot of time and effort in developing Chris and we would love him to sign a new deal because we could then get a transfer fee for him as he's under 24.
"Chris is a valuable player and if he signs a short-term deal say for a year he can then leave for nothing which might suit him as opposed to leaving for £400,000 which is the development fee we would get."

PAUL HARTLEY has warned Aberdeen they will be wasting their money building a new stadium unless they invest in a new team.
The Dons skipper is gutted that he is leaving the club at a seven-year low after retiring with immediate effect.
With vice-captain Zander Diamond also leaving, boss Craig Brown will have to scour the bargain basement for new players in the summer as Dons are heavily in debt.
Average attendances have slumped to just over 9,000 - 1300 down on even last season's dismal campaign - but Dons are committed to building a £30million 21,000-seat stadium at Loirston Loch.
Hartley, 34, made it clear to the Pittodrie money men the only way to make it pay is by putting cash into a team which will notch the fewest points since Steve Paterson was boss.
He said: "There will be a new stadium and training ground in a couple of years but the priority is a good team on the park.
"You need to have that in place to persuade supporters to come back and fill that new ground.
"The club have to be better next season. There's no point going to a new stadium with a poor team, but Craig and Archie Knox have the right contacts to make sure it doesn't happen.
"The big disappointment is where I am leaving Aberdeen as there were high expectations on myself and the club when I came here.
"This season has been a struggle for me and everyone here in general and I wish I was going with them in a better place.
"I thought I could make the team better and I think there were positives when I was in the team.
"I think next season will be much brighter as they have the right men in charge with Craig and Archie.
"They need to get better players in and given time the club will have a better future.
"With the financial climate it won't be easy to get better players in, but Craig will work hard to do that."
Injury and fatigue have taken their toll on Hartley and he decided to call it a day before his standards drop.
He won every domestic honour in the Scottish game with Celtic and Hearts as well as being capped 25 times for his country.
Hartley will now take his coaching badges.
Brown admits replacing Hartley will be the toughest task of what will be a difficult summer.
He said: "When it comes to replacing him you have to be thinking about making a stellar signing.
"In years gone by you are looking at Tommy Burns going to Kilmarnock, Davie Cooper to Motherwell and Charlie Nicholas coming to Aberdeen - that is the level of signing we're looking to make.
"It won't be easy, as there are not many of these players going about in Scotland, but we will be bringing in someone on a comparable deal to Hartley was on.We are also looking to replace others we are losing." Injuries mean Brown has named 13 youngsters in the squad to face Hibs at Easter Road today.

If he does come back, he'll get my support.
Nail on head
Anyone who gives him grief because he played for Der Hun needs their head examined!!

Mackie at £572,000??
-
In total!In training?
-
I agree with dave!
-
Just as a matter of interest, when a company pays for naming rights to a new stadium, is there a specific time limit as to how long the stadium bears their name?
-
I agree, rather he fucked off down southAs long as he is replaced by a better player then no problems with him leaving. Still think there is a decent defender in him so would rather he went down South rather to one of our rivals.
If that's true what an arse!*Willie Miller offered Diamond videos of McLeish defending so he could study them, learn a few things, and hopefully improve.* Miller's offer was rejected. That pretty much sums Diamond up for me tbh.
* Allegedly

Good game, thought we did well and played some nice stuff. some good defending and were excellent at blocking shots/crosses today

Mildfielder Rob Milsom is likely to miss the trip after severing an artery in his foot against Dunfermline last week.
From the P +J today
-
I thought it was the top of his foot?
-
From the EEABERDEEN FC midfielder Rob Milsom suffered a severed artery in the 1-0 Scottish Cup win over Dunfermline. The January signing was bleeding heavily from the horror wound and was substituted after only seven minutes.
Milsom had stitches inserted by the club’s medical staff and now faces a battle to be fit for Saturday’s SPL clash at St Johnstone.
That's gotta hurt, wouldn't of thought he'd make it

I voted Diamond because he managed to play 90mins with only one total fuck up. Well done loon
Bebo for me

ThisPlays with his head up, always looks for the ball and can spot a pass, and more pertinently seems to know how to execute it once he's seen it.
