Dunno, quite a few I'd suspect why?
Just wondered because the trend at the mo is for teams to play with 1 upfront. 3 at the back really only works against teams that play 2 strikers, hence why most international teams (where it was more common) that played 3-5-2 have changed to 4-5-1 in recent years.
-
We'll have to agree to disagree.
As I said earlier we played a back 3 last Saturday and it worked very well, there's no reason why it couldn't work or that we shouldn't at least try it for a while. Imo the communication and understanding with your team mates is a lot better when playing in a back 3. You're a lot tighter and more compact.
How many teams in the SPL still play wi 2 attackers?

For a club pushing for european football every season
-
It takes a very good three man defence to be water tight. Diamond Touzani and 1 other wouldn't be good enough to run that even with the equivalent of Simpson , Cooper, Strachan etc in front of them.
3 man defence would essentially be 5 with wingbacks

For fuck sake AFC and Jimmy, can't you do anything right?
-
Size of this wager?
I think ye missed this bit
I'd be willing to wager the people that would rather Rangers lost than us get in to Europe have something wrong with them

Erm..........random

Why does everyone bring Liverpool into threads about Aberdeen or the SPL, seriously. I don't mind talking about Liverpool in other football chat, but it gets boring after a while hearing digs about Liverpool in Aberdeen threads.
But the random camel/arab jokes and typing 'random' is hilarious?
It's the same way that ye always go on aboot Aberdeen being boring tae watch. I jus find 'at a bit hypocritical bearin in mind yer a Liverpool fan.
This site's one big merry-go-roond

maybe it's just me and my bro but I couldn't be arsed reading that either.
They are all words I have read before in a different order of course but I just can't muster up the energy to read it or scan it for that matter. Any pictures? or perhaps someone could explain the whole thing in the form of mime.
If the article wiz sung by an obscure musician, with the music played on the ribs of a wildebeest*, wid it mak a difference tae ye?
*that's a deed wildebeest

Aye with the same main instigators as KKK.

But Aberdeen's way was that if they had assets to sell, they'd sell them. They always thought that the next one coming through was going to be as good as the one they'd let go
Hibs

whats that got to do with it?
Sayin that Aberdeen and Rangers are boring to watch
-
A couple of staunch Milne supporters have just said that the club has been in decline ever since Anderson died.
Fuckin hell, they told me he went tae Sunderland.
-
We're almost as boring to watch as Rangers are.
HOOOOOOOOOOF to Miller, he dives or goes down too easily, nothing given
HOOOOOOOOOOF to Miller, he dives or goes down too easily, nothing given
HOOOOOOOOOOF to Miller, he dives or goes down to easily, nothing given.
so on and so forth. Yeah thats about as entertaining as watching an Anna Nicole Smith porno (shes deid!)
And you're a Liverpool fan?
-
Some Dons "fans" really need to get over this Rangers thing.
Couldnae have put it any better masel. I seriously cannae believe the mentality of fans that wid rather Rangers lost than we got intae Europe.
-
Cheer on Rangers? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I'd rather grate my own balls than support that shower of shite.
Aye, fair enough, but for us tae hae any chance o' Europe we need them tae win their games?
-
"There was no danger of that. You look back now and you see what Fergie had in that team. Great defence' date=' aggression all over the park, leaders all over the park, pace, trickery, goalscorers. He had the lot. And another thing he had. Fitness. We were the fittest team going. You know, Archie Knox kept a record of every fitness test we did at Aberdeen, every time we recorded for every run; 200m, 400m, 800m, 1200m. He gave me a copy of his files. No team I've managed has ever matched the numbers we recorded in 1983 and before. Fergie knew we'd run all night. Thinking about it, maybe it's no wonder he wasn't talking about Real Madrid."[/quote']
Every successful team Fergie's had epitomises this quote. Just watch the workrate o' the Man United team just now for example.
The guy's something else like.

I'd take the sacrifice. We don't make Europe for one season....so what? Rangers win the quad......thats forever. Life would be unbearable.
I'm surprised that some folk wid be willing tae take the sacrifice, the reason I asked on here was because someone said it the other day and I didn't get it. They'd rather Rangers lose everything than we get in Europe? I dinnae get that logic. Fa gives a fuck aboot them, as long as we're deein the job on the park, surely that's all that counts?
If someone had said tae me at the start o' the year that we'd finish 3rd, get to the semis o' both cup comps and the last 32 of the UEFA, but in return Rangers won the quadruple, I'd have snapped their arm aff.
Aberdeen first and foremost.
-
There is a degree of flexibility in the whole scenario as long as we win both games.
Aye, was just putting down the ideal scenario.
-
For us tae get in Europe we need them tae win every game, but am wonderin if ye wid sacrifice that to see them lose the league, UEFA Cup and Scottish Cup?
Oor best chance o' gettin in Europe is for them to have the league wrapped up before they come to Pittodrie on the last day, so that they can rest players for the finals and have a better chance o' victory.
Granted the two cup finals dinnae hae any bearing on our league position, but if they could win the league before the last day they'd be able to rest players givin them a better chance in the two cup finals.
So, would ye be happy tae see them win the quadruple so we can get in Europe, or wid ye rather they won fuck all else, and we didnae mak it into the UEFA next year?
-
Something tells me the Huns wont get 6 points from the two Motherwell games.
W need them tae win every game they play in, apart from against us, but on the evidence o the day they're tiring and it'll only get worse given they need tae play 8 games in 6 days or something silly.
-
How does this affect us? I can't be arsed working it out.
They'll be 2 ahead of us, having played the same games, as will Dundee United. Motherwell are a further point ahead but with 2 games in hand, both against Rangers.
Games left :-
Aberdeen - Motherwell (a) and Rangers (h) - Most points we can get is 56
Hibs - Celtic (a) and Motherwell (h) - Most points 58
Dundee United - Rangers (a) and Celtic (h) - Most points 58
Motherwell - Rangers (a), Aberdeen (h), Rangers (h), Hibs (a) - Most points 65
We have to win both our games, hope that Hibs lose to Celtic and draw with Motherwell, Dundee United lose both games against the Old Firm, and Motherwell lose twice against Rangers, once to us and draw with hibs on the last day.
