  1. Probably Stenhousemuir and Q.O.T.S. Scottish Cup Semi-Final loss are dead level for me.

I've been to nineteen European games at Pittodrie between 2007-09 and 2014-19 and must say out of the two losses I've seen (Real Sociedad the other which despite the way it came about I can just about accept given their quality) the Sigma Olomouc defeat still annoys me 14 years on and don't know why.

  2. Can somebody explain to me what is exactly happening in terms of stadium improvements.

Have I heard right but is there going to be flashing electronic advertisement boards going round the pitch itself?

If so that is not going to help myself as they can be very dangerous for having epilepsy.

  3. I hope we get some NEW far flung places to visit.

I told my Vicar friend Chris (doesn't do football but loves my conversation about Aberdeen FC) who was awfully intrigued at how in the last ten years we've travelled to LAPLAND OFFICAL BIRTHPLACE OF SANTA CLAUS!, Adriatic Coast, war torn Bosnia, Silk Road, San Sebastian, Almaty (which isn't even really Europe being so close to Chinese border!), plus BLOODY BURNLEY! as well as having visits to more traditional cities like Riga, Groningen, Tetovo, Larnaca, Maribor, Reykjavik and Baku.

    I finished our chat with Chris by saying the following which got me thinking quite deeply;

"I won't be going to any of these away games but will try my damnedest to make all four guaranteed Pittodrie matches.  I'm just chuffed for the greatest club/supporters in the universe that'll they'll have something to remember in life for watching their team abroad no matter what the final results.  What a way to see a bit of the world by following your footballing heroes around the globe like we have last decade."

  4. What was the biggest points difference between us and Heart of Midlothian when we were going through that nine losses in ten matches?  Was it eleven or fifteen?

Given how badly the squad must have been feeling after the week consisting of Tynecastle 5-0, Darvel 1-0, Easter Road 6-0, the fact we're on verge of securing third and potential Group Stage European Football on Celtic winning Scottish Cup is just bonkers for me.

  5. Can somebody just explain to me a little better why if we make Europa League/Europa Conference League Group Stages does it guarantee us five to six million in the bank??

Surely you really need to make knockout stages for it to be truly lucrative?

I seem to remember when we reached UEFA Cup Last 32 against Bayern Munich 2008 and the overall revenue supposedly made was in the region of around two million so not sure how we'd make double that and more next season without a degree of success in either competition?

  6. Mad to think we finish our season where one started and whoever would have thought that all the nonsense in-between that was Darvel plus two embarrassing thrashings in Edinburgh over the space of a week and everything else that it might well end with European qualification of some kind.  Honestly never saw this coming after losing nine of eleven games following World Cup resumption.

  7. Can I move the discussion on a bit.

Anybody else scored three penalties for us in one game like Paul Hartley did opening day of season against Hamilton Academical???  Don't think I've ever seen those three penalties since being at the match.

  8. If we manage to pull off third place or even cement fourth given such a poor run after World Cup break I think the likes of Mattie Pollock, Leighton Clarkson, Duk, will be remembered fondly in years to come where this one season is concerned especially our No.18 loan man.

Not really sure what went wrong in those six losses and one draw in eight games after World Cup but even if that draw was a win and two of the losses were wins (2-1 up on Rangers deep into injury time and took lead in Paisley) the battle to be best of the rest would probably be over with an extra seven points.

Hindsight is a great thing but makes you wonder about the mentality of a footballer given how this squad gave up on Jim Goodwin although even if we'd got the predicted haul I talked about above there is no guarantee we'd have seven wins in eight fixtures since Barry Robson took over with Jim in charge.

  9. Did you hear him swearing?  I really like the Homelander intro and the two minute solo at end after action in the ring is finished put goosebumps down my arms.  There are actually so many things you notice on listening to it more.  Taken about five months but we got there.

I think the fact the guy is 66 years old and has better things to do in life than put together this for me meant a lot to us.  I honestly would recommend his 2021 solo album Beautiful Wounds.

  10. For crying out loud lads this was something I did for a laugh not to be taken seriously!!  We're not picking a Hall of Fame inductee or anything.

So Charlie Nicholas and Hans Gillhaus may not be on the list and Stevie May, David Goodwillie, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas may not float everybody's boat but you lot just give me further evidence as to why I goto games on my own.

Honestly just don't get our supporters in modern day sphere.

  11. A specific question.  Not even sure why this came to me earlier.

Where did the Joe Lewis decline begin?

Could it have been with Derek McInnes and Tony Doc. leaving?

I just feel he is too young to have seen his career and reputation rapidly go up in smoke.

  12. ElginDon,

I had Phil Gould send me the thirty minute cartoon wrestling video with his drumming over it two days ago although from what he said this is not the final piece he still needs to 'fly in more fx' before mastering it.

As we said above not expecting anybody else to really understand or appreciate what my musical hero other than Reni has done for me but excited to think we could let family and friends hear it very soon.

There are some great bits in it if I can be biased for one second.
