Im sure most of us would have taken that if offered it at the start of the season and called it a good succesful season.

Surely the final results were that we finished 4th in Spl, 2 semi's and last 32 of uefa?

So the history books will just list results and not the final outcome? True it wont record opinions though. In my opinion whoever reads these books wil interpret as a successful season.

Ive just realised how negative some of you are on here. Its been one of our most successful seasons for years and some of you still arent happy. Getting further in europe than anyone thought( and being one of 3 scottish teams in europe after xmas in a long time- an achievement on its own) took something away from our league form and position. In my opinion we would have got third and a final if we werent in uefa cup. The history books will read- Season 2007/8 Aberdeen SPL 4th, 2 semi finals and last 32 of uefa cup. Successful. The 80's are gone and not coming back. Would some you like to go back to the dark times of relegation playoffs, bottom 6 finishes? We also have a couple of youngsters coming through. Start of a youth system maybe? If JC goes we'll be on a slippery slope.

Maguire- Gut feeling is no. Too lightweight with a shite first touch. Think he believed the hype from nichol. Considine- Too slow to play full back and can't concentrate for 90 mins. As a result to much of a liability for central def.

The EPL is often shite. It's rare you get a great game between boro and bolton. It looks good because of the whole package( good full stadia, nice pitches and great coverage). They have millions thrown at them by sky because the fa run it fairly well. I believe all clubs get a fair share of the tv money regardless how often they are shown. Their fa try to look after every club and not just the interests of the "big" clubs. The SPL is poorly run with the interests of the scum at heart. The celthunta deal hardly benefits the other 10 clubs because of poor negotiation and trying to keep the old firm happy. Most of this is the SFA/SPLs fault. The money is unfairly distrubuted and other teams not on telly often enough( usually only when they play the old firm). Again poor negotiation and poorly run. The split alone makes the league a laughing stock. A team fighting relegtion v a team going for europe/title = great excitement. 2 organisations is too many. We have too many clubs for a country our size.

Have the uni's no got an indoor training area we could use? Our pitch is poor but in better nick than ICT or wells. Best pitch is probably gretnas.

Reckon he'll be back before then. Going by the sky comentators he wanted to come back on and it took the doctor to tell hik he wasn't playing. He could'nt see out of it already at that point. Don't think he'll let them keep him out that long.

Yes, With all we achieved in europe and two cup semis it's been a good season. It is disappointing to be bottom 6 but I don't think we can fight in four competitions without 1 of them falling away. Anyone else think that a cup final/win is what it would take to get the sack jimmy brigade to back off?

1 automatic up and down, 2nd bottom playing 2nd top would add some excitement at the end of the season. Although I think is an idea that was tried in the 90's. Like the idea of 2nd and 3rd playing for the champions league but what happens with the UEFA place? Does it go to 4th or Loser of 2v3? I doubt the SFA/SPL would accept the idea of 1 of the bigot bros not in champs league.

Even though our season has crashed and burned, I've never given up on top 6. It'll be difficult but it's doable ( new word?) very confident.

Agreed its not great planning but nice to see the club actually using their connections. Man U are one one of the biggest teams in the world and to actually get them at pittodrie is brilliant. Well done AFC on this one.
