  1. Was at the game last night and wanted to say that I thought Lee Miller looked really good last night. Hardly lost a header all night - just needed some runners off him to pick up the head flicks. Does not look all that confident in front of goal - should have scored at least once. Really put himself about and despite his lack of goals, really proved his worth. Thoughts?
  2. So far.... Diamond, Lovell, Mackie, Byrne, McNamara, Aluko.... Smith and Clark are apparently 50/50 Anyone know about the situation with Smith and Clark - we could do with them out there....
  3. So it would look like.... Langfield Hart Diamond Smith De Visscher Nicholson Severin Touzani Foster McGuire Young It looks as if we could be without 4 of our first choice strikers - Mackie, Miller, Smith, Lovell!!!! Dan Smith and Lee Mair will come into the reckoning.... Hopefully Clark and one of the strikers at least will make it.... Not great looking to me....
  4. If we can get the first goal, I would be confident that we can get through this one, but should, God forbid, we concede the first goal, I really do think that the heads may go down and we could be in all sorts of trouble. Hopefully, the injury list will not be as severe in the morning and we can field a reasonably strong side. Fingers crossed.
  5. Anyone got the latest on Severin? I heard that he had tweaked a hamstring in training and was only 50 / 50 to play....
  6. BBC reporting of his death today. Never will go down as one of the Aberdeen great managers, but coming in straight after Fergie was going to be tricky. RIP
  7. Michael hart has no agent, and I really believe he wants to stay....unfortunately at that stage and age where a reasonable pay day may be wanted....I think he will stay. Barry Nic will stay while the Jimmies are in charge. If that were to change - who knows? ....would he get a bigger club than Aberdeen? I think he will stay. Chris Clark - He will stay. Lee Miller / Steve Lovell - a lot of work to be done this season to convince us all of being offered a new contract. May both be offloaded. Langfield will probably go. Byrne - who knows?
  8. Thinking of european competition - who can forget Bohemians?
  9. True, but the first time they were in the Second Division.
  10. When we put our minds to it, we have probably suffered more cup 'upsets' than most Premier League clubs over the last 10-15 years. Stenhousemuir, Livingston (twice), Queens Park without thinking.... Any more....?
  11. It's a game that we should win by at least a couple.... A chance to get last season's Firhill farce out of the system. As has already been said, we must start to deliver in the Cup's. These games are so often about getting an early goal and allowing the players and fans to settle. STAND FREE!!!!
  12. Despite many reservations, what is the general concensus on how he has done? Not a huge amount to do so far, and as far as I am concerned he has not really been responsible for any of the goals conceded. One great save of note so far.... Thoughts....
  13. Built with extra belly size - just for JC!!!!
  14. Really fair article about the Dons and the season ahead. Well worth the read.
  15. Well at least it looks like good news on the Foster contract situation - seems talks have gone well and the club expect to announce a contract extension later on this week. Now for the rest....
  16. Whilst I agree that football clubs must be 'self financing' we, as Aberdeen supporters, must never forget the fact that under Stewart Milne our financial standing has slipped to horrible proportions, and the cost cutting was necessary to save out club. Milne allowed the spending to go on, in what admittedly was, a ridiculous spending time for most Premier League clubs, but now he has refused (apart from being the guarantor for our debt) to help us out. To even pay off the debt and let us pay him back at a more comfortable rate would dramatically help the club, and enable us to have a little bit of financial freedom to ensure that folk like Derek Young did not have to appear at the football club again. Young's signing is a typical 'panic buy', where perhaps plucking a relative unknown from abroad or first division with a bit of promise, might have been a better route to go down. With more than a month of the transfer window still open, there was no need to jump into any signing.
  17. It seems that the whole Egypt trip was badly arranged and thought out. We could have had two players killed, nothing to do on the time off for the players, we could have had two important players missing due to suspension, and then we had the problem of the plane delay on the way back. An unusual set of circumstances for sure. Regarding Dyron Daal. He seemed as if he could have been a good squad player who still had to fully mature as a player. With Derek Young you know what you have got....
  18. Am I right in thinking that only red cards can be appealed?
  19. Just been confirmed that they are both eligible to play, although they have both accumulated points. Hope the club still appeal over this
  20. My pal is a physio at hamilton Accies, and he has just told me that they gave Derek young a run out against Queens Park last week. They took it no further as he did not impress at all....
  21. UNDERRATED? Bloody overrated....!!!! Darren was the better of the two, but to be honest there was not an awful lot to pick and choose. Rank signing however you look at it.
  22. Beat you by 13 seconds NorthernLights.... Unlucky for some.... AFC I would say....
