  1. I still cannot believe some utter knobbers refuse to admit Calderwood was doing well at the dons.

Despite having the better players sold, let go for nowt, and having little to bring in players, he consistently polished turds.

Mind you, its the same fucking idiots who though Willie Miller had done a bad job. Despite two second-place finishes in the league and two losing cup finals.

Been fucking downhill since Miller, and Calderwood got us back into europe, and I don't mean getting booted at the first hurdle by part-time tattie munchers either.

    Have a look at yoursels.

  2. Why is it the same nuggets who got fed up of the jimmies bringing us European football, creamed themselves over McGhee getting the job, now want him sacked?

The problem of the last 10 years is chronic under investment and replacing players with poorer players.

How the fuck is spunking a small fortune on sacking McGhee & co going to help that?

Wiggy and the board are killing AFC, the fans aren't far behind because they wanted JC out - what a fucking great idea that was.

Some cash on top of the team we had v Copenhagen would have seen us kick on, the decision by wiggy to break up that team and sell is THE ONLY reason we are in this mess.

It won't actually matter if we sack McGhee any improvement will be temporary and we'll be back here again soon. Who the fuck is going to want to helm our 'cancerous' club anyway?

  3. Quote from: Labirinth7 on April 12, 2010, 01:15:05 AM

This mess is completely the board of directors fault.  We had assembled a great squad in 06/07 which went on to finish 3rd.  They then cashed in to the first bidders and have chronically underinvested since. :-[ Its not MM or JC's fault.  The current predicament is a result of cutbacks to wages.

I only wish that the board had given JC the near million quid it cost to repace him to spend on players last summer. I think we would then have been looking forward to europe again next season.

    Déjà vu folks?

    Yay. someone gets it!

This is the AFC way. If the rumblings of discontent get too loud. our intrepid board of directors take the short term option time and time again.  They sack the manager. Twenty years this has been the cycle of failure,

League position slips under current manager.

    Red army get pissed off

board say they support the current emcumbment

Red army get more pissed off and moan louder about it

board say they support manager again BUT GIVE HIM NO MORE CASH TO WORK WITH

    Relegation/embarassment looms. sacking

    drag in new manager

    Start at top

All this has been is a diversion from the utter ineptitude as to how this club is run.

So, he is therefore a scapegoat

    100% spot on.

How can it be the manager's fault when we have sold or let go every quality player we've had in last 5 years and each time replaced them with lesser value players?

Totally Milne & the board that have killed AFC.

And to the retards calling for McGhee to go.

    1. We don't have the money to waste doing it, and

    2. Who the fuck would replace him? Couldn't afford compo so would need to be someone out of a job who was interested in helming the fucking titanic of football.

Also, bad day, but we are still a fair way off a relegation playoff, yet.....

  4. What fucks me off is he is whinging about not having any money. Mark, you do realise each league position carries with it a bigger prize than the previous? At least try to push for as high a league position than you are. At the moment, it seems that you're ready to accept ANY non-12th position as acceptable. There's a reason why Willie Miller has told you that your transfer-kitty is guaranteed regardless of your position, because regardless of whether you finish in 7th or 11th, yer still gonna get fuckall.

FFS. I really don't know what the f*ck my fellow dons "fans" are thinking.

When we finished 3rd and got into Europe did we get money to spend? When we qualified from the EUFA Cup group stages and Wiggy "promised" us spending to kick on, what happened? We sold players and let them go on frees.

Calderwood now appears was working miracles with shite, McGhee isn't as good a polishing someone else's turd, but sacking him won't suddenly make the sh*t that passes itself off as an AFC player actually play any better.

We need investment in the side, to generate a bit of interest, bigger crowds and hopefully better league and cup finishes. We ain't gonna get it with Wiggy in, and for me we are NAILED ON CERTS for relegation next year after we lose more players and bring in fuck all replacements.

  5. Ex McGhee player who has struggled to hold a place in a mid table English 1st division (i.e. old div 3) side - hmmmm, nae overly enthused by this like.

Because we can expect to do so much better finishing 9th or below in one of the worst leagues in europe!

  6. I pretty much agree with Strachan.

Fans complained Jimmy played shit football and players out of position. They were practically jizzing over McGhee because of the style he played at Well.

Now we have McGhee and it's all complaints again.

THE SINGLE FACT IS WIGGY IS RUINING THE CLUB.

On field performances maybe shite, but that's because we've lost 2 squads of players and replaced them with shite. shite players = shite performance.

Not McGhee's fault, and to be brutally honest, if we can't afford players, you think we can afford to sack him anyway?!

  7. Don't let stats stand in the way of your retarded opinion.

I really don't care if you want to carry on wanking over how pleased you are Jimmy got the boot, but some of us have a brain and can see what is going on at the club.

Nice of you to give an example of a typical dons fan tho

  8. I'm sick to the back teeth of the majority of retards who call themselves dons fans.

The situation is simple, our chairman has been strangling the club for years, he forced out our best manager since fergie by letting countless players leave and not replacing them. We may be 'financially stable' but for me you can keep it, we should have kicked on when we qualified for knockout uefa cup but just dismantled the team.

People kept calling for jimmys head, but it's obvious he was an expert at polishing the turd afc has become.

Now retards want mcghee out? There would go the transfer budget for 4 seasons as compo.

We now have fuck all chance of attracting players, keeping loan players, or signing those out of contract.

This season is over, but while wiggy is here future seasons look worse.

Get real, get wiggy to fuck.

  9. I agree, not sure whether it is down to McGhee or the board that the budget seemed to get smaller every day, something strange going on, we had around £3.5million for the footballing budget less than a year ago, affa strange, lets just hope that those that McGhee didn't think were good enough were just shite and he was right to leave them alone.

there is nothing funny about it - it's simple - wiggy won't open his purse strings.

I've said countless times, he us ruining the club, and now McGhee has said things like "we wouldn't have had the money for stokes" maybe we can drag the majority of our support to reality.

Wiggy has made us a tiny club in terms of spending power.

Lets hear all you idiots who claim we have the 3rd biggest budget in the SPL.

Can we please get a new chairman andboard before the club dies

  10. Probably for the same reason that the mindset of some football fans mean they can't see there's a middle ground between buying big names and bankrupting your club.

We don't need to beat everyone in our league to clear our debt a little each year and for the fans to enjoy a day or two in the sun every season to reward their loyalty.  Instead he rewards them with a new manager with pocket change to rebuild a squad before the knee-jerky-wolves come hounding at the door.

The fact of the matter is; we don't need to split the O.F.We just need to beat shite like United, Motherwell, Caley, Dunfermline, QotS, Killie,

Sadly Milne doesn't realise thinks progress is to bargain buy

    100% spot on.

I EXPECT the chairman to AT LEAST replace what we lose with suitable players, not shoddy bargains.

  11. Er, "If Milne goes, AFC goes"

ok, If Milne stays AFC goes,

replace what players we have with, free transfers when contracts run out, soon we are a div 1 team, and get relegated, repeat until AFC dies.

The ONLY way for AFC to survive is to buy decent players and attract crowds, better product, better club, better players.

Trying to survive on fan base alone will see ANY club die.

It's common sense and to deflect it as "they can't blame the manager so they blame wiggy" is ridiculous nonsense.

Some people need to get with the real world, sadly a lot of them are AFC fans.

  12. I read the article in the P&J about Wiggy giving money to McGhee to sign some players following the Sigma shambles. Whilst it's probably a case of throwing money at a cause that is already lost, I applaud Wiggy.

The Dons have no money whatsoever, and our chairman is in the contruction business - a sector that is still suffering heavily from the recession. For Wiggy to find cash when neither the SPL TV deal nor his own construction business can find so much as a spare penny is commendable.

Lets hope McGhee doesn't spend sixteen weeks on one player. Seems he had all his eggs in the Plymouth Argyle basket previously, which was a stupid thing to do. Mark, use that cash wisely, but use it QUICKLY. We need cover for Thursday night!

For christ sake - he's the chairman - it's his job to invest - or get the fuck out of the club.

  13. So the current Wiggy appologisers excuse is that we spent too much in the past, so now we have to endure years of pish???

Who picked the fucking managers?? wiggy

    Who backed stupid signings?? wiggy

Who picked a manager that he has turned down at least twice and now won't back?? wiggy

To say there is money available now is fucking ludicrous - We needed investment BEFORE the european game - see if we had qualified - money would have come in - now we are going to spend "money we don't have" to paper the cracks and not get it back from european ties.

For that alone, wiggy needs sacked, but when he did the same mid-european campaign a few years back too - the "number one fan" tag is looking sadly worn.

Wiggy needs to invest or get to fuck - if the club is "nearly standing on it's feet" and he isn't going to invest, walk away and let someone else step in.

    Wiggy is killing AFC

  14. The business model is indeed flawed but we do still continue to pay better wages than the majority of the league.

    It just isn't enough.

The investment required is a very sobering thought for any chairman. I mean, imagine having to shift 700k on a new management team, that would put the shites up me when the team requires heavy investment.

We might pay better than some of the league, but I can't imagine us winning races to sign players against Hearts, Hibs, United or the infirm.

Yet the expectation of the board is to out perform the first 3 I mentioned.

And the expectation of the bulk of fans is to out perform at least 4 of those.

Not without hands in pockets, if Wiggy won't, can't, doesn't want to, it's time for him to find someone who will.

Without a decent team on the pitch we are going backwards.

  15. We are not good enough, we probably never will be!

We cannot pay the wages for consistency of mental and physical application and skill. And that particular situation has worsened considerably,

we CHOOSE not to pay the wages.

People can stick the "financially viable club" argument up their hoop. Every single club in existence is funded by someone, ours is trying to be self funding whilst providing us with a shit product.

The club will continue - if you want to watch 3rd division pish in Dons shirts....

I want some on field investment, the last 18 months are proof the current "business" model ain't working.

  16. I started the thread to point out to the Jimmy haters that all that is wrong with AFC is the board and chairman, not the current incumbent of the managers chair.

Anyone who thinks otherwise is an insane clown. I hope McGhee is a success, but it is highly unlikely with the current chairman and board.

    Wiggy oot
