In my humble opinion the level of comment and debate on this site is much clearer, incisive and dare I say more mature than on AFC Chat.

You don't know how lucky you are. This time last week I was arriving in Aberdeen airport just as hordes of Dons supporters were heading in the opposite direction. Today I feel happier than I did this time last week.
-
He's going nowhere.
Get used to it.
Absolutely. No matter how bad things are domestically at the moment Calderwood took his team in to Europe and exceeded expectation on that front. There is no way the board are going to sack him.
-
I doubt Calderwood has any intention of binning so many players. His mumbling to the press is a common tactic used by managers who are getting desperate when they are struggling to get their team motivated by using their own conventional methods.

Hiv a good een yi miserable hoor!

Sorry, I've just always had an issue with people celebrating defeat. I never thought we were like that, always thought we left that shite to the Tartan Army.
The Tartan Army thing is a myth. I've never known Scotland fans to celebrate defeat and I have been to see Scotland lose on quite a few occasions. Just think back to the Vogts era, nobody was laughing then.

Within a couple of years he'll only ever last 15 minutes, never score and you'll find out that his tackle is rubbish.
Run for the hills girl!
He can last 15 minutes? That's nae bad going.

Plus the £12.99 0ne off connection fee
Which isn't one off should your direct debit ever fail through no fault of your own...

I hear you chiefo. You have to take the good with the bad being a fitba supporter and try nae get yer knickers in a twist when things are bad. Some folk take fitba and themselves too seriously.

My pre match thoughts will possibly be about sex. Maybe not though.

Nae sure. Everytime we hit a bad cycle the knives seem to come out for Milne again. Milne had the perfect opportunity to walk away when he and his family came in for physical abuse a few years back but he didn't.
-
Aye, totally, the board had to sanction it. He put himself in the position of heid honcho so it is he who is in the firing line.
-
Aye, nae conspiracy. I think Milne is pretty much stuck. If he walks away he will look like mair of a cant than people have him down as now. He, like many other fitba chairman in Scotland, didn't have the foresight to see that Scottish football's marketing value was over inflated when he was spending heaps trying to keep up with the Old Firm.

Sparks - Kimono in my House. Ace. I've just booked to go and see them in May.

It would be funny if it wasn't so transparent.

Bryan Robson is picking a fight with his ane fans so I suspect Jimmy will have to application forms to fill out pretty soon.

I don't agree with him at all.
His logic states that because we spend the 4th highest amount of money we should finish third (?) but he's already decided before the end of the season that isn't going to happen.
Hi ssimple money calculation also ignores any things that can happen in football, injuries, luck, back room issues etc, that can change situations. However he has conveniently allowed the Hearts situation to impact his calculation to help his point.
We might finish 4th or maybe 7th but that pales into insignificance against Milne making us insolvent.
Totally agree. Having the 4th biggest budget does not guarentee even a top 6 finish. You have to factor in team management, player attitude, squad harmony etc. as well. Look at the Dons team that struggled to get out of the bottom three with Willie Miller in charge, it was packed with talent that, collectively, were probably earning the 3rd biggest salary in the League.

I understand folks frustration recently but all this "Anti Maguire" talk is relly starting to get to me!
What good is it going to do, constantly slagging off a young lad trying to learn from the current crop of crap we have.
He is still 19 for gods sake!
It cant be easy coming on in games when we are getting gubbed and being expected to turn it around.
Maybe he isnt ready for 1st team action, but it aint his fault that jimmy is chucking him on.
When he first broke into the team, everyone was raving about him, so for folk to say he hasnt got talent is rubbish!
Lay off the boy and hopefully he will fulfill his undoubted potential!
I hear what you are saying about the vocal criticism min. However, I don't believe he has what it takes to make the grade no matter as he doesn't even show any bravery in his game. Considering Scottish football is of a physical variety I would have thought that toughness would be a prerequisite for every player coming through. Especially when you consider how much money Maguire must be making.

They get paid too much money and don't realise it.
-
But JC can't be responsible for that. Are we really saying JCs tactics are so confusing that they remove the ability to pass a football or close down the opposition?
I would strongly suggest that is shite.
I agree. Team spirit and motivation are what seem to be missing.
-
You dinna mind the Budgie or Officer Dibble?
The loan signings are down to Calderwood's skill in the transfer market, or rather lack of.
-
Sandy Clark's tenure at St. Johnstone was tainted by his falling out with various members of the team.

I tocht it looked aright. Just missing an adidas badge as far as I can see.
