  1. Wouldn't normally wipe my erse with the rag but took a quick look at the Record in the supermarket today. The story is that McInnes has been "forced" into a position where he will "have" to quit to go to the huns. Weegia job almost done. We bend over and adopt the position.
  2. Why is it that the hun target has to pledge his troth or not? That's just further cap doffing to the cheeks? Why doesn't anyone expect the hun to clearly state what they are proposing here: are they approaching DM, what are the terms of the compensation offer, what about back room staff, how much are they willing to pay as salary etc etc? Of course not, they're the hun, the diddy target on the other hand? Well he needs to clarify his position. This is bollox. Phuckem.
  3. Going back to my comments yesterday, if he resigns he will also have to walk away from any notice period and forfeit all other regulatory rights. It's a bit messy but it can be done especially if there is no notice period which is probably the case given the compensation clause. The issue is the compensation clause; not sure if it would stand up in a court of law but never fear, it would be a matter for the SFA to adjudicate and would be basically a tapping up case. Messy and do we expect the SFA to act and the hun to comply? Will our pals in the media report it fairly? We're being stitched up.
  4. And the first "McInnes may HAVE to resign" stories appear in the weegia this morning. A f'kin disgrace. Next up "Save me from my Pittodrie hell plea from McInnes".
  5. The hun played the media and the media are playing us. If Aberdeen (or any else outside the cheeks) fancy another team's manager do you think the media would engage in a concerted campaign to get him to make the move? Of course they wouldn't, in fact they would probably call us out for the underhand tactics and quite rightly so. This is happening because it's the huns, McInnes is as much a stooge here as we are. There's probably worse to come, the ideal outcome for the huns is for McI to walk and then the SFA would be the first port of call for a tapping up claim. How do you think that would pan out. I'm not entirely bothered if we lose McInnes, especially if we get 800k, but we are being put in our place by the weegia and buying into the fallacy that all players/managers need to pledge their faith to one or other of the big teams cos, you know, they're big ken?
  6. I have to agree, if we get 800k for him as reported then fine. Still doesn't excuse the media pish around this. Let's face it, the cheeks tapping up a player is the norm, it's just that it hasn't happened to us for a while (I exclude Jack as that was a no brainer and he was out of contract). He would be mug to take the job and, as he is aware, the mode of his recruitment stinks but if he goes we get a new start. The hope is that we are better prepared for this than the hun were and that we can go about our business without feeding the media with clickbait. I'm more concerned with our loss of two games on the trot to the 4th placed club, who are managerless and played most of a half away from home down to 10 men. If some of that is down to players being "unsettled" then we are up shit creek sans paddle: up for being bullied by the big boys.
  7. And if some reporter from the peenjay asks jack Ross if he'd take the Aberdeen job this afternoon does the boy have to answer yes or no with anecdotal backup ref his love for saintees/dons? Never going to happen, all we could expect is a "no comment" and that would be deemed correct because it doesn't involve the cheeks; is that not blindingly obvious?
  8. The media have driven this, they appear to have acceptance from a lot of supporters that if the one of the cheeks wants a player/manager (or even FFS the media speculate that scenario) then said player/manager has to clearly lay down his response, intended response if offered or respond to the speculation. Does he have to wear a suitable scarf depending whether he's staying or leaving as well? What pish. We've been sold a dummy over the years by these weegie driven copy and paste artists. If anyone (except my wife and that's not a definite either) asked me to comment on whether I was leaving to take a new job I'd tell them to fuck off and mind their own business. And as for commenting on speculation, just no. Rangers may make an offer, DM may or may not go and that's it. Feeding the hun media is not the Aberdeen manager's job. Every player/manager outside the mega euro teams is up for a wage increase move and they can all get by without "losing the dressing room": that's another myth.
  9. The whole "world brand" thing is meaningless. There is no value in it unless you're selling something the world wants to buy. There are Ranjurzz "fans" all over the place but they don't have a lot of "supporters" outside Scotland, they're not putting money in to the club, buying TV on a global scale or buying the replica shirts : all compared to the big guns that is. Said big guns have started to visit and play in the world markets specifically because having "fans" worldwide doesn't make you any money, they need to spend. Then there is the issue with Ranjurzz fans specifically, they are indeed everywhere but they generally comprise everyone from a broad swath across the central belt who don't support Celtic. They're not really into fitba and they certainly are not into supporting it financially. Their last well publicised approach for income from their 500 million (their estimate) fans world wide raised a few grand. They have the support to be big in Scotland, they are not a credible world force. In terms of manager they are not going to be even doubling DM's salary: he could quadruple it in the English Championship , that's how "big" they are.
  10. Apart from the compensation issue, the DOF issue, Jim Traynor dictating what you can and can't say, the salary (that the weegia are underestimating) and the requirement for some proof of available "war chest" McInnes will be looking for a cast iron contract with a wee reminder for him as the mannie Grayson is sacked after 18 games at Sunderland. That deal didn't make sense for him and the hun move just doesn't make sense either.
  11. The compo is only the start. I don't think the weegia can comprehend the money McInnes is on, in particular to secure his last contract. And, unless he is a hun nutter, which I suspect he is not, he will want to see a humungous budget available otherwise he will take two seasons to confirm second place at best and that means he'll be sacked. It's a win win for me. I like him, I hope he stays, but if he goes we get the funds to play the market.
  12. McLean was shite? Get a grip. Classic under achievement from us but bog standard problems to be overcome in the SPFL. Ridiculous that we were looking for the final whistle but credit To RC, they mixed a bit of savvy with the hammer throwing and it was up to us to work out a way through. Apart from McLean the best for me were Shinnie and Christie. However, how good is it to have a decent, heid the ba/kick it oot for a throw in centre half? McKenna has done well so far.
  13. Obviously I'd like the guy to make the grade for us but I'm not sure if he will. However, this incident is funny and will be cast up for ever which is good for him. JC once mourned that the squad he inherited comprised a bunch of guys he'd be happy to have as a son-in-law, all well and good but phuckall use as competitive, risk taking fitba players. He should probably stick to something less physically risky though: stealing buses maybe?
  14. Thanks Elgindon, born in Buckie played for Banks O' Dee (as many Dons of that era did) sounds right.
  15. I remember him well, he was the goalie for the first 4 or 5 years of my Pittodrie experience. Big unit for those days but very capable and threw himself around a bit. I played in goal at primary school and he was a bit of a hero along with Ernie (see above) Winchester. Liverpool bought him as cover for Tommy Lawrence IIRC. Tubby had a massive boot up the park from hand and from the goal kick spot. I seem to recall anecdotal tales from some of my Huntly family of him kicking the ball straight out of the park over the opposite goals at Christie Park: also that he played Highland league before and after his Dons/Liverpool/Doncaster career. Buckie Thistle or Peterheid? Anyone clarify?
