  1. 1st 25mns, we were really poor & struggling to make an impact, if anything St.J were the better team.

Once again ref.Madden had a mare(must have been pissed off his beloved dropped points today).    Pitch never helped, absolute disgrace, groundstaff need their jotters >:D

Once we scored there was only one team in it, our top performers were McLean.Christie ,Stewart & my m.o.t.m was O'Connor who was solid, decent crowd seen as it was baltic.

Looking for 3 more points on Tuesday .C.o.y.r !

apart from the carry on with Considine stealing some yards at a throw in , the ref did ok.

It was a very easy game for him tbf,

Best game I have seen from Stewart since he came, motm for me.

    St Johnstone were fuckin awful.

  2. good to see Big Eck back, decent performance all considered.

hopefully Eck sticks with McGinn, McKenna, Armstrong, McGregor rather than Championship players from England.

Add Robertson, Tierney, Fraser to that and we have the nucleus of a decent team at a good age.

Lad Hendry looked impressive as well, also the Minker to return.

  3. Well we got the win and deserved it as Dundee were pretty shite, though if their striker in the first half had a little  more composure he would have had them 1-0 up, but he took a little too long and allowed Woody to make a good save and keep it 0-0.

Collum couldn't get that yellow out quick enough for Shinnie in the opening stages, but he still gave us a captains performance and my goodness we need him. Collum is a strange ref though, makes some very strange decisons at times.  Did we deserve a penalty in the second half?  There was a couple of shouts, but sitting in the Merkie it is hard to tell.

I though Chiddi did well for us today, he certainly doesn't hide on the pitch and you can tell he lacks experience at times with some daft decisions. I doubt he will ever be a EPL player though.

I actually thought May did OK today, but he really needs that goal to give his confidence a boost, a pity the one shot he did put in the net was chalked off for a foul. I noticed when he was subbed it was just a little handshake from McInnes , who usually puts his arm around a player as they come off, might just have been we were taking a corner at the time.

Woodmans kicking is shyte, I would even say worse than Langfield it is that bad.

We got the win and we should have buried them, but we just didn't make our second half possession count.

I did like the look of the boy Caulker for them though.

I also forgot to mentione Christies miss for us today, the loon is well short of confidence at the moment.

May was shite, the ball gets played through to him he turns and runs into the defender and the ball hits his arse. Fucking awful.

Woodmans kicking today was ok, one that went straight out over McInnes head on the halfway line but o=ther than that was ok. He also made a good save to keep it 0-0.

Agree on Caulker, way too good for that shite.

  4. poor for the first 25 mins or so then played ok till half time.

Pretty much one way traffic in the 2nd half without creating too much, really should have won by more.

Shinnie rightly MOTM ,McKenna is an absolute beast best thing to happen to us this season by a mile.

Stevie May, shite again headless chicken

really hope he comes good but deary me he has been an absolute donkey so far.

Good 3 points but still a way short of were we were last season.

  5.

As i said the crowd was very disappointing... Killie singing "what a shitey home support" at us really is embarrassing and sums it up! If folk are using the weather as an excuse then that's pretty sad, Killie fans had just travelled 200 miles in one direction. If the stay aways didn't turn up because of DM's current brand of football then fair enough because it's fucking crap!

    #

driving to the game I said one of the first songs they would sing was exactly that. ::) The irony.

Do any teams have a good home support?

Heard the Mighty managed to muster 18k for their Cup game.

It matters not that the Kilmarnock fans travelled 200 miles on good clear roads. If you live in or near Aberdeen you will know the roads north and west of the City are shite.

As for the Kilmarnock brilliant away support, if it was a regular thing then I would be impressed.

  6. Watched the game, thought they were the much better team in the second half. Even DM said he thought we were a bit fortunate to get a draw.

maybe shaded the 2nd half, cant agree with much better.

created next to nothing a few long range shots.

Both teams were shite and a draw was all either deserved.

McInnes has been talking shite for a while now so I wouldn't pay any attention on his opinion.

  7. Horrible second half and I thought Killie were the better team. We go a goal up and have a chance to kick on but allow Killie to come back and dominate. Interesting that Shinnie was at left back and on a booking. Stick him in midfield we maybe win the game but he gets booked and misses a semi.

What are our tactics/style of play? What are we meant to do when we have the ball? I see an awful lot of simply belt the ball forward and hope, or give it to McGinn or Christie and hope they do some magic. We are not good to watch these days at all. Feel very sorry for May and Rooney. Why is Rooney played wide, awful. And we play fetch with May, not fun. If I was either player I wouldn't be happy with what I'm appearing to be asked to do.

An inspiring win was needed today but instead we're probably a little lucky to still be in the cup.

they never dominated at any time in the match, in fact they were equally shite and we gifted them a penalty thanks to amateur defending.

McInnes team selection/ tactics ae baffling.

  8. shambles..........

what the fuck has happened to Shay Logan?

    Stevie May is fuckin shite.

Why play Rooney as a wide player?

    Why play O'Connor?

Not sure what all the fuss about this Kilmarnock team is about as they are also shite.

McKenna and Shinnie only pass marks.

Sort it oot McInnes or get tae fuck.

  9. best chance for a while to beat these wankers and we blew it.

Set up in the first half showed too much respect again.

McGinn playing right back ?allowing Tierney to dictate

Second half was better and we should have scored, they were poor.

Stevie May.......... oh dear, looks like he is pulling a tractor. If this is Stevie May what a waste of money.

McLean easily our best player, possibly the best player on the park, thought the CHs and Nwakli did ok the rest were shite.

    O'Connor???????????????????????

  10. Season tickets aren't valid for cup games?

    aye this would make sense.

Scottish cup attendances (in the early rounds) have been rubbish across the board for decades now.Dont understand why, when its the only chance for most teams of a trophy.

Dont think our crowd today was any worse than we've been getting in the SC of late.TV and time didnt help. Our attendances in general have been decent this season

think your right, plenty of empty seats in all games, just thought it was an attractive game.

  11. Crowd was just shy of 10000. Disappointing but not too surprising given it was live on BBC1. St Boo only brought around 250 or so but credit due to them they sang their hearts out all game.

St Boo as you call them had much more than 250 more like 700.

Not sure why we were 5000 short of normal attendance, cant blame TV.

  12. I get the impression the folk watching on TV got a different view of the same game from the folk in attendance because i thought it was a very good game (terrific is maybe pushing it).

    couldn't agree more.

Just watched a re-run on TV and my opinion on the game hasn't really changed.

Sure there were individual errors, there are in every game but I certainly never thought the defence were that bad.

Pretty comfortable I thought, certainly not a bombscare.

    Opinions an all that.

The heid tennis in the SS 2nd half was excellent.

    Brora at hame please.

  13. Get that arsehole McLean off of there.

same old eh? boring as fuck.

McLean like most cruised the game, McKay- Steven finally looking like a player.

Was much easier than I expected.

Celtic buying players for what reason ? No way is Morgan going to get much game time, Christie is head and shoulders above him.

    Great manager Rodgers is.

Credit the St Mirren fans they enjoyed themselves. Easy for folks from their neck o the woods to support the Mighty 2.

Put the Hun/' Tim supporting cunts from the NE to shame.

    Welcome back Niall McGinn.

  14. Thank Christ you boys are not involved in motivating the team eh.  We'd be doomed.

Could the next manager not turn out to be even better than the current one?

Could the move to the new stadium not end up benefiting the club both financially and on the playing side?

Yes, maybe I am guilty of looking at the good side of things and reading some of the negative drivel on this forum, I would prefer to stay that way.

The way I see it, the club are debt free, six points off the top of the league, enjoying one of the best calendar years of results in recent times and have plans for both a new training ground and new stadium with quite a bit of financial backing already assured.

It's not really that bad is it?

You sound like a politician min, a lot of words without saying anything.

My issue is with Milne and what he has actually done to progress the club since he has been chairman.

We have already established the Donalds bailed the club out with their generosity.

I know about the 4.4m owed to SMG, which Milne traded for a bigger shareholding

What I want to know is:

1: what has Milne done to progress the club?

2: what is your opinion on the lack of training facilities and why ?

  15. If you believe what is written Milne is worth in excess of £100M.  Investors in Scottish football clubs, Celtic aside, do not make money.  In almost all instances their loans are either written off or converted into shares like Milne's which are effectively worthless because the original investment will never be recouped  The guy, like all of us seems to me to be someone who genuinely wants the best for the club and has put in some money, however much and a lot of time to try to make that happen.

Anything he stands to get back, financially, from being involved as dons chairman is a drop in the ocean compared to what he is already worth.  Spare me the old story about he is only involved so he can build flats on the Pittodrie site.  I don't think selling a few flats would make a lot of difference to Milne's bank balance.

The suggestion that the fans paid considerably more for their shares than Milne did is complete made up SHITE.  The £4.4M which was converted into shares in 2014 cost him £1.15 per share compared to 10p per share that others paid.

Yes, some good decisions and some bad decisions have been made along the way as with ALL clubs.

Every club of late in Scotland has had difficulties in balancing the books because their is no money in the Scottish game any more.  In my time following the Dons so many clubs have either died (the oldco), nearly died (hearts, motherwell, celtic, dundee, partick) or had sever financial issues, none of which have happened at Pittodrie.

The club now appears to be on the up after years of struggle.  The team is regularly at the top end of the table again and hopefully the new stadium can materialise.

I am all for debate but why can't folk be a bit more positive about what we have as a club rather than looking for the bad points all the time.

On top after years of struggle? Believe me it will be very easy for this club to go back to the dark days.

Why? because of the mess of the club off the field.

When McInnes leaves who will take over and continue to get the club 2nd 3rd place finishes?

With Milnes track record of recruiting managers we can easily fall back to where we were.

What happens if Kingsford falls on its arse?

I'm sorry but since Milne took over I'm struggling to see much progress, either on or off the pitch.

The last 4 years can become a distant memory very quickly.

The debt cleared largely by the Donalds was a huge boost for the club.

I am not a fan of taking the stadium out of the city but feel it really needs to happen

Do you become Chairman of a football Club to make money?

The very least I would have expected in this day would be to have good training facilities for the players.

  16. Those percentages don't ring a bell, I don't remember the Donalds being given that shareholding. If they had, I think it would have had to been offered to other investors, as it would surely have diluted their holding?

I don't suppose it matters, just interesting.

I agree with you about Milne's tenure, it has been disappointing. Although I suspect Ian Donald would have done a far worse job. Not that they were the only two possibilities of course. The worst decision of his spell being the RDS. How a developer could look at that stand and think that it was a good idea is staggering - a complete lack of foresight. At some point there must have been a plan in place for the remaining 3 stands, so what happened to it? It has - potentially - meant that we have to vacate our actual home and move outside the city to which the club belongs. That's staggeringly incompetent and wildly negligent in terms of a responsible fitba team chairmanship. If you'd said that, that would be our future, to a dons fan 30 years ago they'd think you were a fucking idiot. Nobody could possibly make such a shite move for the club? But it's happened. However, from a business perspective, it probably doesn't look too bad. The relevant major shareholders haven't really lost out over the years and there's still a valuable land asset retained.

I read somewhere that the Donalds were offered a place on the board for their generosity but refused it, so were given a 10% shareholding each.

Agree completely regarding the RDS, why build it unless there is a plan to do the other 3 stands.

Kingsford is not ideal by any means but I fear it has got to the stage where it really needs to happen.

  17. Milne cleared £4.4M of the debt at the end of 2014.  Not sure how much he has put into the club in total but even if it's "just" the £4.4M it's hardly the "tuppence hapenny" or "fuck all" as you suggest rocket.

How much was it exactly that you put in for ALL your shares?  :dunno:

I don't have a clue what Milne has contributed financially over the years as Chairman, I can only go on what I see.

The Donald family wiped the majority of the debt out, and reportedly got 20% shareholding.

Stewart Milne Group were owed 4.4 m (I presume due to the building of the RD Stand) which SM traded for a bigger shareholding, from 29% to 43%.

I never said he has contributed nothing, but stand by my thoughts that it has not been enough.

The fact the club has done reasonably well over the last 4 years doesn't change the mess off the field.

The lack of training facilities is nothing short of disgraceful for a club like Aberdeen.

The Stadium fiasco just goes on and on.

My feelings are a successful businessman like Milne should have had the foresight/ contacts/ knowhow to have done something about this before now.

Off the field we have fallen behind a lot of clubs, and if things start to go wrong on the field (which is more than possible)who knows where we will end up.

Certainly doesn't help when trying to attract decent players or indeed a manager when we next require one.

He doesn't seem to have much problem getting land to build more houses.

If this Kingsford project doesn't get the go ahead I worry about the future of AFC.

He is the Chairman of Aberdeen Football Club, it was his choice.

    The buck stops with him.

I agree the Council are a bunch of self important clowns, which does not help.

  18. I’m no fan of Milne but to suggest he hasn’t dipped his hand in his pocket is an astonishing claim.

if he has it isn't enough, unless you have some figures.

No training facilities for this club is a disgrace and complete lack of foresight.

As for the stadium, least said the better.

    Who cleared the debt, Milne?

  19. Canna mind that, but remember Keith at Pittodrie over 10 years ago v the Oldco

Uncomfortable tie for us v the Midden...

Keith is probably the one I was thinking.

Good draw I think, interesting to see Jack Ross team in action, and welcome back Cammy Smith.

Problem is I will miss it.
