  1. Okay, so some news regarding possible incomings in January. You won't like this one bit

Rumours, and of course that's all they are, circulating from Dundee, not any of us, but Dundee fans, and they're not happy, is that Graham Dorrans is coming here in January  I'd imagine it's to ease the midfield shortage we seem to have, but I am not overly sure I belive it. I would also imagine that IF there was any truth in it, it would purely be until the end of the season. If this turns out to be true, I'd be pretty annoyed and disappointed.

Second one is Stephen O'Donnell, apparently a pre-contract is almost over the line with him, a snag being that he's reluctant to move his Family to Aberdeen. This one is coming from a couple of our own, in particular one who is usually on the money. Wouldn't be too downhearted with that one, if true, I think he'd be a slight improvement on a regressing Logan.

Also have Alan Nixon saying that Cosgrove and Mckenna could be away in January as there are a few clubs definitely interested in them, but comes down to what they offer and what we deem acceptable of course, he also said we are sniffing around a Centre Back, but didn't name him.

Some food for thought heading into tonight

  2. It would be a real shame if we lost Cosgrove unless the club are offered stupid money by someone.  It has been a long time since I can remember someone that young scoring that amount of goals for a club outwith the ugly two, possibly Derek Riordan at Hibs.  I am not suggesting Cosgrove will turn into a world beater but he is very effective for us.

McKenna for me is well over-rated.  He's a good SPL standard defender but any offer with the word million attached to it would be a good one for him.

If Cosgrove touched up one or two bits of his game as it stands, he'd easily cope with the Championship in England, he reminds of Jordan Rhodes, only not as good, just yet. He's got time on his side and perhaps a move with better facilities and better coaches would be beneficial for him, but obviously I hope he stays.

  3. Was about to post the news regarding Leigh & Bryson. What the fuck is happening with our Injuries, is it lazy recruitment, taking a risk on these prone players or is it a calculated risk worth taking? A fully fit Bryson would have been an excellent addition, as would a fully fit Gleeson!  ( Last time I defend Gleeson )

But seriously, for fuck sake  >:(

  4. Apparantly Leeds United had someone in the stand watching Cosgrove on Saturday, and they are added to a list of suitors now, QPR, Derby & Middlesborough.

I think we're going to see a McKenna type stand-off here, clubs will make an offer, but it'll be derisory, although I don't see Cogrove handing in a transgfer request.

There is a strong possibility that we could lose the both of them next Month, if it does come to that, and McInnes is given some of the money back to replace them, he better get it fucking right.

  5. We were piss poor, we offered very little as usual going forward and they passed it around our defenders like it was a training match. Our goal was actually well worked, nice skill from McKenna and a good cross from McGinn, finished excellently from Cosgrove, who outjumped Ajer to bury that header, as you'll have seen from the Highlights, but back to your question, it was a poor performance, thought McKenna was the best of our defenders, Ojo at times looked class in Midfield, sadly though, whenever he recieved the ball and looked up, he found no forward options and it went backwards.

Hamilton, in their recent 2-1 defeat at Parkhead, amassed 9 shots at goal, with 5 on target. We managed 2 the entire game, 1 on target, it's not really befitting of an Aberdeen team in my opinion, we're better than that.

  6. There was absolutely nothing reckless about his tackle, this is fucking insane.

And whilst not an endorsement that I am right ( Even though I am ) Michael Stewart & Marvin Bartley just said on Sportscene that it was a perfectly fine tackle and never a Red Card. He makes minimal contact with Ajer, with his trailing leg that was tucked underneath him, it's not even a foul.

  7. The problem is that your opinion isn't backed up by fact. The rangers game is the only one where that rings true. He's only had 3 bookings this season, which doesn't back up your "red card waiting to happen" or "earned himself a reputation" suggestions. Last season was a single red for a second booking and 5 bookings in a near full season. The only real red card challenge came in his debut as a 20 year old, which was rash rather than malicious.

As for yesterday's, I don't believe that even in "today's rules" that was a red. Both McKenna and Ajer had similar off the ground challenges that took the ball and then a bit of the man. That ball was always Cosgrove's, with the Tim only making an attempt in order to dive, it was 80:20 in Cosgrove's favour and he took the whole ball as the linesman found out when it hit him (I'd have been raging if Cosgrove hadn't gone for that ball). The ref then sprinted 50 yards to make a decision on something he didn't have a good view of based on the crowd's reaction. He took no time to consider it, no time to talk to his linesman and no time to play it back in his own head. It was poor refereeing. The refereeing was certainly more rash than the tackle.

And that cretin Scott Brown as well, ran about the same length as the Ref.

Imagine how much the cunt would be lauded if it was him that made that tackle.

  8. He's a big physical Striker, he puts himself about and rightly so, he is up against 2 big Centre Backs every week, he's kicked, elbowed, pushed and pulled for 90 minutes, he gives it back, good for him and so he should. He has 20 golas to show for it this season, wonder where we'd be without him.

That tackle, he clearly saw an opportunity to keep Celtic in their own half, which is what the outcome should have been, a lift to his team mates and Celtic taking a throw in near their own box, I genunely struggle to see and understand why some people have a problem with this, granted it's a minority, but still doesn't make it easier to understand.

You say Sam shows dig and fight, I think he’s an absolute clown the way he throws himself about. I see needless tackles, needless fouls, and unnecessary over physical play. It’s embarrassing half the time

Regarding this, you're mixing Cosgrove up with Lewis Ferguson.

  9. Then give me something positive! Enlighten me! Would love to talk about positive stuff! I keep saying it, Cosgrove is a red waiting to happen most games, you don’t see that? Maybe he shouldn’t have been sent off but the way he plays it’s no surprise and he doesn’t deserve the benefit of the doubt. If you see something different in his play, explain.

I’ve seen the red and many say it was a deserved red. Subjective, but why are you so insistent he made a bad decision? It’s the type of tackle in 2019 that really shouldn’t happen.

So have I, and many say it wasn't deserved, and if our Manager is to be believed, Lennon said it was never a red and we've been harshly treated as well.

He won the ball, he doesn't even touch Ajer for fuck sake, it's absolutey mental that our own fans are slating the cunt, he shows a bit of dig and fight, something we lack terribly and he's taking stick from our own.

I appreciate it's all about opinions, but this is bonkers, it's not even a foul, if he makes contact with Ajer, with the leading leg, then it's absolutely a sending off, but he clearly and cleanly wins the ball, the ball is there to be won, and he wins it.

  10. the tackle wasnt needed thats the bigger issue

He was closing the ball down, trying to keep Celtic pinned in their own half via a throw in I'd imagine, which is the outcome he should have had, not a ridiculous Red Card. I'm certainly glad he made the tackle, a bit of fucking oomph, something we lack, sadly.

  11. Match Stats

    Celtic Shots - 28

    Celtic Shots On Target -11

    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

    Aberdeen Shots - 2

Aberdeen Shots On Target - 1

That's pretty disgraceful. We were fortunate to go in at HT 1-1, a combination of poor finishing/decent Goalkeeping kept us in it, then when we were brave enough to get forward, we caused a problem and scored a goal. Yet again we showed them far too much respect and yet again, leave empty handed. Other than some nice 1-2 passing at times, in and around our box, they looked a bit clueless and, unsurprisingly, allowing that diving prick Ajer to waltz unchallenged into our half resulted in their 2nd Goal.

On to the Red Card, bottom line is, it shouldn't have been a Red card, a perfectly fair tackle in where he cleanly wins the ball, his trailing shin may have caught Ajer, but it wasn't reckless and it certainly wasn't dangerous, the speed in which he was travelling made it look far worse than it was. We should be appealing it and it should absolutely be rescinded.

  12. Skip to 1.10 if you want to head straight for the song.

If he has no friends and everything's against him

If he's failed in everything he has tried

Try to lift his load and help him bear his burden

Let him know that you are walking by his side

If he feels that all is lost and he has fallen

Help to place this poor man's feet on solid ground

And when this world has turned its back against him

Always lift him up and never knock him down

  13. True Detective Season 3 is actually pretty fucking good, not as good as Season 1, but pretty fucking good all the same. I'd avoid Season 2, that was really underwhelming, or perhaps my expectations were too high, who knows.

    I appreciate the recommedations also.

  14. Only post match comments I can see -  "I'm maybe guilty of making too many changes looking back now.

"I thought the 3-4-1-2 we went to allowed us more possession of the ball and we got into good areas, but we didn't do enough with the ball and I've gambled too early with the shape because it left us more open on the counter attack."

He made the changes when we were 1-0 down and Hibs let us have the ball, they defended deeper, and tried to hold on to their lead whilst hitting us on the Counter, his changes just made the Counter Attack a lot easier, as we let Considne mark Boyle, and that was only ever going to go one way.

  15. Motherwell, after losing to us, seemed to have sorted their shit out, they are scoring goals and have momentum, they are back into 3rd, Hibs have lost once since Jack Ross came in, and are now 7 points behind us, again though, they will probably get better the more Ross works with them and he gets his own players in.

We desperately need some impetus, wether it's new players in January, or a completely new brand of Football, we are still utterly predictable. They coped with Cosgrove very easily today, and as a result, we didn't really look like scoring, that is a concern.

  16. BigAL, Managed to get it on my tele, the thing I messaged you about mind

    Although now I wish I hadn't bothered.

It wasn't a great 1st Half, Hibs were still the better team, although we created better chances.

2nd Half, well I haven't got a fucking clue. We were shite all over the park, not a single player played well, Defence were embarrassed by simple through balls, Lewis also a bit suspect with their latter 2 goals, midfield was yet again, non existent, Vyner was poor, Ferguson was poor, kept giving them free kicks, even though the majority of them were soft, he lacks the composure to not buy into it, he kept doing it. Gallagher was literally a man down and even Cosgrove was absolutely mince.

Difficult one to take really, but they definitely deserved it. They pass the ball around well, we seem to really struggle witht that, we barely strung 2-3 passes together.

I get McInnes creaming himself over a draw at home on Wednesday night, but I was never judging us with the 2 previous results against the ugly 2, I was more pissed off this season losing at St Mirren, the horrendous draw away to Killie, the farce of drawing with bottom of the League St Johnstone and in general, our style of Football, it's all been a bit shit this season, and last to be fair, the Hun wins last season really cut him some slack. But that today, that was fucking shocking, and we'll see what pish he speaks post match.

  17. I would stick with the same back 4 as we had on Wednesday night, although it might be too soon for Taylor to play 2 games in as quick succession. If it is the same back 4 though, I'd drop Vyner and keep Ferguson & Leigh as the middle 2, with Gallagher ahead of them, Hedges and McGinn ( If Fit ) supporting Cosgrove.

Doidge seems to have found a new lease, much like big Sam, so we'll need to be careful and not afford him opportunities obviously.

They will be determined to put Wednesday behind them, losing up in Dingwall, so I'd expect us to try and manage the game for a large part and then try and hit them on the break, whereas we should be going there as a team with their tails up and taking the game to them from the Whistle. But we will see.

Hibernian 2 vs 3 Aberdeen ( Cosgrove, Hedges, Leigh )

  18. Mckenna is no where near as good as he was pre injury. I hope he improves, but he's been considerably lacklustre for the past year or so. Odd game he's done what I'd expect, second half he did but first he was embarrassingly bad. No one I know who isn't a dons fan rates him in the slightest. Definitely need to be getting as much as we can for him imo.

For me, this is probably down to him not wanting to be here nowadays. He made it pretty clear in his recent interviews that he had his heart set on a move down south, after speaking to the McLeans, Shinnie's etc...

Regarding the people outwith the club not rating him, it's the same for me, no-one thinks he's even remotely decent, but they say that about Cosgrove as well, and even a few mutterings that Joe Lewis is mince, but their opinion is irrelevant, because they are unable to be objective. Like idiots being interviewed by the Media, on their way to a FoodBank, stating they'll still vote Tory because they like how Johnson speaks. Place is full of absolute fucking morons these days and I class those who don't rate McKenna, Cosgrove & Lewis in that bracket.

  19. They are fairly highlighting this decision against Ferguson, the Morelos tackle that should have been a Penalty I mean. I actually thought the wanker dived, certainly if there was contact, it was minimal. It's a part of Ferguson's game that he needs to nip in the bud though, he gives away far too many lazy, tired fouls. Having said that though, he really impressed me 2nd Half last night, he got far more involved whereas in the 1st Half he was genuinely dreadful, like everyone else to be fair.

Back to the original point though, by fuck they're foaming at the mouth that it wasn't given eh, BBC Sport Scotland have their own little segment on the website if you go look, Boyd last night was almost in tears that it wasn't given, the Highlights reel from last night showed the incident 3 or 4 times yet didn't show Cosgrove's header. Fuck them.

  20. are you gleesons agent kenny ?

I pimp him out enough I suppose.

I just think that there is an experienced player there who definitely has ability and as Ten Caat alluded too, has a decent brain. He kept it simple and ticked along nicely. He's struggled with fitness clearly, but he hadn't played a lot before joining us and the pace of the game is a lot different up here, he would have adapted had he been given the game time. Maybe he has a poor attitude, or maybe he's suffering mentally again, as he almost quit the game several years ago, can't quite remember the exact reason but apparantly he was struggling mentally.

Gary Rowett said he "[didn't] think there [was] a better passing defensive midfielder in the division."

Karl Robinson - Gleeson was in tears afterwards, and Robinson said that the criticism he had received during the season for an apparent attitude problem was misplaced. According to the manager, his "[looking] like he's moody, doesn't care and only does it for himself" is a misperception; "he gets wrapped up the fact that he cares so much – sometimes he shows it in the wrong way."

Mick McCarthy - said Gleeson was "a mile above anyone else in terms of getting it and passing it."

All well and good these previous Managers clearly rating him, I stand by the point I made about being given an opportunity, there is clearly a Player there, I think he would have been a key player if he had been given a fair shot, but for various reasons, he has not, be his attitude, his fitness or perhaps something mentally.

  21. Well we snatched a draw from the jaws of defeat, but we were awul for the first 30 minutes.

It's amazing how the team plays better when we have a go at teams.

Rangers are a decent enough team who are well organised and have players who play in their correct positions, which usually makes a difference, but we showed last night they are far from unbeatable. Menatality plays a huge part in getting anything of the Glasgow two, but we didn't show the right menatality until we were two down.

I hope we can sign a decent midielder in the window as our midfield is a huge problem for us with neither Ojo or Bryson fit and Gleeson clearly out of the picture and Campbell just doesn't seem ready at the moment and would benefit from a loan spell in the Championship.

Ever since he was out due to suspension I think Ferguson has looked very good for us and was one of our better performers again last night.

I recall a Month or two ago, when we were kind of struggling for results, McInnes kept saying in the Press that we were missing key players, and he mentioned Gleeson several times. the guys been back for weeks now and hasn't even made the bench. I still maintain that when he's played he's done nothing to merit being so far out of the picture, he has influenced a couple of games ( Last Season ) and I really had high hopes for him, but he will be released at the end of his contract, zero doubt about that.
