  1. Given the lack of detailed, or even slightly detailed, match reports, I literally have no idea who's fit and who's not, what shape we have been trying, how we've been playing etc....

All I know is that we've drew 2 and lost once. Get that it's main purpose is match fitness, but still would have be nice to get a few wins heading into the Season. I'm hoping the " Secrecy " has been because we are keeping them guessing? Not that it'll make much difference. I'll be the first to be a negative cunt and say we will lose, comfortably. Also don't think this will be a productive Season for various reasons, looking at another 4th, possibly 5th/6th League Table finish.

Digging the new site, though. ?

  2. Bit of a difficult one this, perhaps a bit odd to be bringing it up, but is anyone else familiar with this?

I have been watching People's Magazine Investigates : Cults, and holy fuck, been a bit of a hard pill to swallow  :( But still interesting all the same, I'm only early 30's and had never heard of this particular travesty, but wow, how can one man have so much power over as many people as that and talk them into doing what they did in the end??

  3. Interesting to hear him say there that all of the stats done by the sports scientists, at Celtic, showed he was the fittest at the Club. Maybe got a good year or two left him in by all accounts?

We took McGinn back, and whilst he's nowhere near the Player he was, he's still turned it on in key moments, scored a few important goals and created a few important goals. Therefore, Hayes is a no-brainer, surely? He was a better Player than McGinn, perhaps not technically, but he created more, scored plenty, the vast majority of our goals came from from him setting them up.

Wouldn't want to waste him at Left Back, I'd be relatively pleased with Leigh on a permanent at Left Back, with Hayes used out wide, where he belongs.

    Personally, I hope it happens.

  4. Pretty much this.....

Aberdeen were a point behind in fourth in what was an odd season. They won three games in a row in the autumn, the only time they ever threatened to go on a run. They didn't even win two in a row before that spell - or after. Derek McInnes came under heavy fire from the fans after a 5-0 loss to Rangers and an insipid 4-0 defeat by Celtic, made worse by the fact that it was at Pittodrie and also because it could have been 8-0.

Off the field, they made strides with the opening of their new training base and an injection of money, but they have a lot of work to do for next season. Aberdeen became overly reliant on Sam Cosgrove's goals. He got 23 in all competitions, a great haul, but he fell away in the new year, scoring just once in the league, from the penalty spot.

Cosgrove ended up on the bench as Aberdeen tried to find some momentum. Of the top six, the Pittodrie side scored the fewest goals, which is a reflection of their overly defensive tactics at times and an illustration that McInnes could do with more firepower. This league season was something of a non-event for Aberdeen.

  5. Okay, can we give this a try? Love a good guitar solo, can we post our favorite ones?

I'll start with Lindsey Buckingham, a phenomenal Guitarist, very unique in his style, this particular Solo is from the well known song " The Chain "  Skip to 4.52

  6. Wow. Aoife O'Donovan fantastic. Never heard of her.

Different strokes etc. - couldn't listen to the other two!

Hendo, with rocket on this one, Vaughan is someone that's always recommended to me, but I've never been able to get into him for one reason or another. But that O'Donovan was a pleasant surprise, nice voice and easy listening, will look more into her

  7. I am Fleetwood Mac daft rocket! In my top 3 of all time ( Springsteen, Eagles & Fleetwood Mac ) " Sara " & " Storms " are 2 gems as well. Funny thing is, I fucking detest that She-Devil Stevie Nicks, loathe her. Buckingham for me, is the brain behind all of their success, she writes good lyrics, I won't dispute that, it's her fucking petulant behavior towards Buckingham that I can't tolerate, not that she gives a fuck

I will give the others a listen tomorrow

  8. My mate was at that gig and is a huge fan. He introduced Bonamassa to me a few years ago but alas I am thoroughly unimpressed. Yes he's a good technician but I don't hear any beauty neither in his guitar and especially not in his voice.

Are your mates initials SF? Out of curiosity.

And it's different strokes for different folks rocket, I was genuinely impressed, voice & technical ability.

Always looking to broaden my Musical Horizon, but I really struggle, and I mean really struggle, to enjoy anything modern and in the charts, always the lesser known Musicians I find myself enjoying, the likes of White Buffalo, The Fumes and now Bonamassa, if you can recommend anything ( Blues/Folk/Acoustic ) I'd be sure to give it a listen.

  9. Much needed 3 points, thought we were poor, or just maybe not very good up until their Red Card. But we've struggled previously against 10 men, so was good to see us take some initiative and be positive.

Thought everyone was relatively poor until we equalized, plenty of errors for their goal starting with Logan's loose touch, Considine keeping Doidge onside, the lack of pressure on Allan, who had plenty of time and space to pick his pass and then Lewis' lazy effort at making it harder for Doidge.

But after Whittaker's sending off ( which by the way, having seen the 2nd tackle several times now, it actually looks like he won the ball  :o but it could just be the angle I am looking at it, but fuck him, Shrek lookalike prick ) we certainly looked better, people were looking for the ball more, the middle 3 were excellent ( McGeouch, Ojo & Ferguson ) and Kennedy showed yet more flashes, didn't personally feel that McGinn had a good game, but he was getting MOTM etc... from plenty others, not for me, was easily McGeouch, then Ojo, then Ferguson.

Pretty big game next week, I have serious doubts about our Manager, and have serious doubts we'll finish 3rd. 2 consecutive 4th place finishes, behind Killie and Motherwell respectively, isn't really acceptable ( In my opinion ) but we shall see, he's still absolutely safe in his job, a win next week might just lift everybody, finally getting beyond they Tim bastards wouldn't go a miss either!

  10. Was definitely a shite game, but conditions played a part in that. Thought we started very well, something we haven't done in a long time, but scoring early meant game management early, and that suited St Mirren, who forced one save from Lewis, so whilst it suited them, they failed to create anything meaningful at all really.

Fantastic finish from Ferguson, Kennedy, in flashes was excellent, he seems to be coming out of his shell now and hopefully he can keep that up, defensively we were absolutely fine also.

Another Semi, which isn't an achievement in itself, but at least we're there and giving ourselves a chance.

  11. Well I predicted a comfortable win and we didn't get one.

Would have won if we hadn't lost Campbell, too far away for me to see what his bookings were for, but I belive the second was for kicking the ball away??  Daft if so, but the referee was a fud.

I was surprised we still went out for the win after going down to 10, expected to see McGeouch come on for either Cosgrove/Main/McLennan, but I think Main played deeper and we tried to go for it, which to be fair we did and were unlucky not to take the lead early in the second with a shot from Fergie saved by the keeper with him then following up with another good save from McGinn, but County had their chances as well before they actually scored and only a good save from Joe, when McKay was one on one from him and another which he tipped over the bar kept them at bay only to then lose another soft goal near the end.

Player wise Cosgrove was honking, just doesn't look interested and his touch is awful. Main has plenty of faults, but he never hides, Cosgrove would have claimed the goal, but Curtis just made sure, but to have those two as your main strikers isn't ideal, but it's all we have as Anderson won't get the game time, as today would have been good to start him upfront alonside Main, but once again saw no action.

Subs were a little baffling, but McInnes must have though we could win as he replaced the ineffective McLennan with Kennedy, who I am still not convinced about, then Hedges for McGinn, then finally McGeouch for Sam, who really should have been off the pitch far sooner as offered us nothing and then we lost a second goal, gutted to say the least.

Thought Taylor and Ferguson were our best players today, with Joe earning his corn with some good saves. Considine did well too. McKenna plays fine for the most part, but his brain farts are becoming costly and he will be lucky if anyone takes a punt on him in the summer, same with Cosgrove.

Just surprised that McInnes didn't go into game management mode when we went down to 10, but soft goals were our downfall once again, I would have said a draw would have been fair, but possibly used up our luck for the week on Wednesday night.

He blocked the Free Kick, the very same thing happened to us on Wednesday night, but the Ref just spoke to the Killie Player, a bit of common sense, it's a very harsh 2nd Yellow, in my opinion. But he will learn from it, you'd hope.

Regarding Cosgrove, something is without doubt a miss, the boy has gone from being confident, having shots, winning headers, decent hold up play, scoring goals etc... to Bambi on Ice! He hasn't become a bad Player overnight and definitely hasn't become a bad Player on purpose.

Whilst Campbell's Sending Off was a factor, the goals we lost were atrocious, a free header ( Which Lewis should have done a lot better with ) and a completely un tracked run for the 2nd, someone was sleeping, McKenna I think. We were 1-0 up, a bit more shape and a bit more patience and we'd have got to HT still 1-0 up. Could have regrouped at HT and just played on the Counter.

Don't think anybody really stood out, but Taylor is certainly our best defender, on current form.

  12. I single him out most weeks, good and bad, and the fact is that it's Bad, the majority of the time, yet he seems to be first choice CM, CDM or CAM, he's played in all of these positions and offers the same, needless fouls, lazy tackles, poor passing and the odd positive moment, as you correctly point out, his determination that led to the Penalty was very good.

When Campbell came on, his immediate thought was to lift his head, pass the ball, either forward or out wide and I am absolutely certain that he made more successful passes than Ferguson did, in 45 minutes less game time. Yes, his tackle, or attempt at a tackle, was poor, but Devlin should have dealt with that, without absolving Campbell of any blame. I suppose what I am trying to say is that I would comfortably select Campbell, Ojo or McGeouch ahead of Ferguson every single time. Yes, think the boy is an imposter, that lives off a headed winner vs Rangers. Said numerous times I believe he has potential, but he's nowhere near good enough to be our main Midfielder but lo and behold, McGeouch has been in the door 5 minutes and he's already written off, Bryson has been extremely unlucky with injuries but has already been written off, despite clearly being a good Player that has played consistently well at a very good level, their experience and ability, after a consistent run of games, would improve us considerably, as long as Ojo is tidying up behind them.

  13. Well, that was £15 well spent, in the end!

That 1st Half was a complete write off, an unacceptable performance and you would question why McInnes would change things, considering how well we played on Sunday, it was without doubt the wrong 11 and the wrong formation. Thankfully he realized that, but I am not giving McGeouch, McLennan or Bryson any stick, they are simply following instructions, they all tried to get involved but we were far too safe with the ball and barely penetrated them.

As bad as we were, Killie weren't much better, they certainly had more intent, but thankfully Ash Taylor won just about everything that came into our box in that First Half, he was solid and the only Player to get pass marks. Kennedy tried, but he got better as the game went on, more on him later.

I will say it again and will continue saying it, Lewis Ferguson is an imposter. Passing out of play, passing to Killie Players, very slow with the ball at his feet, needless fouls yet again ( Brophy scored a free kick from Fergsuon's idiotic, lazt foul ) the boy brings nothing to this team. Granted he won the Penalty, but that was from sheer inexperience and recklessness from Findlay.

Anyway, much better team 2nd Half, Kennedy was unplayable, just his delivery letting him down at the moment, but if this is him settled now, then he can make a difference, Logan & Campbell also played really well, we were sharper, we were getting forward quicker and we were playing better football. Cosgrove hitting the bar was extremely unlucky, good powerful header, I thought Branescu got fingertips to it, I was sat right behind it, but Goal Kick was given.

In the end it was a brilliant night, well worth the admission fee, Matty Kennedy was blowing out his arse, he was fucked, but he tracked back and broke forward every time and deserves an enormous amount of credit. Ash Taylor in the first half especially, also deserves credit.

  14. The type of performance I believe we should be putting in against each and every team we face. Pressed them everywhere for large periods, tried to play Football on the ground, snapped into tackles and rattled them. Some basic practices but rather effective. I thought we made a team, who has been on a great run since the turn of the year, look bang average.

Forster didn't have too much to do, but neither did Lewis until the latter stages when we were committing more numbers forward. Ajer's goal though, takes a lot of shine of it though, the man simply marauded from his own Box, with nobody tracking his run and even when he breezed beyond a very struggling Considine, there was no communication from him and the others were ball watching, leaving him completely unmarked, a very, very, very poor goal. Their 1st was a bit shambolic as well to be fair.

We did well to get back into the game, we probably should have won it, it was a much better showing and if we applied that every game we played, we would win a fair chunk of games comfortably, in my opinion.

  15. Managed 3 goals from open play & 3 separate goalscorers!

Can't really fault anyone, everyone played well, special mentions to Main & Devlin, Main was rightly MOTM for his 1st Half performance alone, but he continued to work hard and was unlucky not to score with that header in the 2nd Half. Thought Devlin was extremely comfortable the entire game and actually put in a couple of very good crosses in the 2nd Half! Could add Considine and Ojo to this list as well, they also played very well.

It's amazing what a change can do, Hamilton wouldn't have expected that Formation, they seemed to struggle big time with it, until they changed themselves in the 2nd Half, but game was done by then.

I won't be getting carried away, I am pleased we looked more like ourselves, I still absolutely maintain that Cosgrove should be our main Striker, I didn't think Main had that type of performance in him, but he showed tonight that he is an able backup and having young Anderson here helps the numbers.

Will be interesting to see what happens on Sunday, I would hope for a similar system and 11, but we will revert to type I would assume, Cosgrove back in for Main, back 4 etc.... But at least we should have a spring in our step.

  16. Surprised to see Campbell playing, but was our best player. Ojo half decent too and should definitely keep his place ahead of McGeouch who was pap the other night. The defence was fine. Mcginn okay. The rest pap. Kennedy's crossing was a joke. Little scooped chips into the area. Hasn't put in a single cross since joining. McLennan did better in his 6 seconds of ball time. Agree, the subs were pathetic. Anderson needs some proper minutes, it's ridiculous to expect him to do anything in the time he's being given. Cosgrove needed subbed for his own sake, he's having a terrible time of it. A double sub, ten minutes earlier than the main sub should have happened. Main wasn't completely gash. The conditions were awful and neither team played actual fitba. We'll win the replay on penalties.

I agree with this, I don't think he's played particularly well at all in his short time here. I don't even think he's actually beat a Full Back and put a cross in, everything is done in front of the Full Back. He's been very uninspiring for me, having said that, he's came in at a bad time, confidence is low and he might feel too much pressure on him already, of course I won't be writing him off just yet, hope he comes good.

What I disagree with though, is the part about dropping McGeouch for Ojo, it should be Ferguson that gets replaced, keeping McGeouch & Ojo as the Central Pairing and dropping Ferguson completely out of the team. Play Anderson off of Cosgrove or Main, or even Kennedy Centrally and playing any one of McGinn/McLennan/Hedges as our two wide players.

I genuinely believe that this is the beginning of the end of Derek McInnes. Barring a disaster, I reckon he'll walk at the end of the Season, we will thank him for his efforts and hope and pray that Cormack is as ambitious as he says he is & carefully selects a new Management Team that will use our resources far better and get what is capable out of the current Players we have, because we have good Players at the Club, they're just being coached wrongly at this moment in time.

  17. Today is the day the goals come back.

    Aberdeen 4 vs 1 Kilmarnock

After a shaky start, someone will score a peach and the confidence will come back, we will pin Killie back and concede a late consolation.

We will close them down all over the pitch, they won't get a second on the ball to lift their head, we will stay high up the Pitch, we will get crosses in and play neat and tidy Football.

Of course I am taking the piss, it'll be as you were, but only this time, we'll score the solitary goal, 1 - 0 to the Dandies, a Penalty or a Free Kick.
