Just to comment on one point, i'd nae be happy if the Scottish government did divert public funds to football - it's not exactly a frontline public service and there are far better beneficiaries of a very limited (and shrinking) financial pool, like health, education, social care, LAs etc.

If Griffiths doesn't play Strachan and magoo need sacking on the spot. He's clearly the best striker we have by a country mile and not playing him at home in a must win game is unforgiveable imo. Griffiths isn't starting.  Nor is Robertson (who was our best player on Saturday), Burke, Anya, Rhodes or Shinnie. 

Linfield are utterly rank, and have resorted to hacking at the QOS players.  One of them has just rugby tackled the goalie into the goal whilst holding the ball and (briefly) tried to claim it. 

2-0 now after a quality free kick which i got the impression the QOS players enjoyed quite a bit, as it followed two QOS players getting taken out with studs to the back and arm respectively.

I've just read his interview on the BBC site, it's bewildering how he can claim we were "unlucky" and Martin was "outstanding".  We were shyte and he wasn't.

I only clicked into Mad on rare occasions but even now I don't seem to be having any issues with Adverts.

 

Is my Adblock software really that effective or is it only something that takes hold if you post regularly?

Adblock Plus is indeed effective for 90% of the adverts/banners, but only if it is installed.  That raises a few issues.

The first is if you are using a machine where you don't have administrative rights to install extensions (eg. work, public terminal, someone else's machine), or a device for which it is not or only partially effective (some phones, tablets), then the ads are a nightmare.

Most regular users tend to have installed an adblocker as they know how crap the site is without one.  The second problem is not the regulars though, its the first time visitors or occasional browsers who are put off from joining, you can't assume they have all got ABP and so the site gains a poor reputation and atrophies as a result.

Thirdly, the basic principle of covering a community fan site in adverts to line one person's pockets is fairly dubious in itself.  I doubt anyone would object to sponsorship or donation-based funding to cover a site's costs, but AbMad is clearly out to make money for one individual.  Even then that would be fine (in a free market kind of way) if it provided a service above and beyond the "free" options, but it doesn't.

Another bizarre signing by McInnes. Doesn't seem to fit into any of his plans, a bit like Storey, yet made the signing anyway. Nae even convinced he is cover for anyone either. Pointless wage when you consider we have youth players who also dont make it into the first team.

Maybe it was just to increase the number of international caps in the squad, seeing as WGS isnae going to give us any.  Either that or we are trying to take over the NI team by stealthily signing candidates then hiding them away in a cupboard.
