If Osman played for us he'd be permanently suspended. We don't get away with players like that playing for us.
-
I dinna hae a good feeling about this one.
We've made heavy weather of the Harry Wraggs this season and with the injuries......
Hope I'm wrang like.
-
I'd be feart, but I'd have a dart.
Wouldnae gie her my real name and mebbe ask her to wear a burka just for the craic.
-
Roddy? Yeah I know him an a. Yeah they two were thick as thieves.
May know you to look at and our paths may have crossed. I was 94 to 99 in Stoney then back for a few years until 4 years ago when we moved to a more civilised environment
Don't like Stoney. Soft but crazy. Too parochial e.g. Hamilton Accies / niggers etc. but the school was good and did our kids very well.
There is a chance our paths crossed, I was a more regular visitor back in the early/mid 90s.
-
Last seen him in the Station hotel bar a year or so back. Must've first met him 20-25 years ago. Can't remember how we first met but as we lived in Stoney when we first came back from overseas, it may have been through the golf as we had a mutual acquaintance. Have been a customer and a supplier to him and his wife's business back in the day. Good guy. Genuine.
It'll be 25 years this October since I left the St Tropez of the North East for the Highlands (being a Stoney loon born and raised) so I doubt our paths would've crossed therein?
Oddly, the last time I crossed paths with him would've been in the Station (I used to be a stalwart for the Station darts team many, many moons ago) on a visit hame about a year ago (a pattern emerges.......).
He got in touch with me since then asking me to compere one of his "Smokers" (I'm nae sure if him and Mr Beat are still doing as many?) he was doing for Cowie Thistle (my auld fitba team) but sadly I couldnae make it.

Red TV had him as their guest but never actually mentioned why he was out. Injury seems the most likely reason, although, from the sound of his hipster drawl, it might have been because he had a mad one last night down Shoreditch with the lads from the Mighty Boosh.
Shoulder injury, apparently.

I know McNeill's brother-in-law who lives in Stonehaven. That's where Billy and his family lived and they all loved their time in the North East.
He's a character DC, and nae mistake.
Good pal of mine, though I've seen less and less of him last few years living oop North.
How did you have the dubious privilege of making his acquaintance?
Got to know Billy a wee bit through the aforementioned bro-in-law, and hung with him at a few social functions (as well as enjoying a hungover breakfast at his house after a wedding in Dumbarton many, many moons ago but that's a long story) and he's a genuine toff of a guy.
Sad to hear of his health trevails, hope he can get the better of it and have some sort of decent quality of life in his twilight years.

Ah, OK.
Prolly wouldnae be an issue unless The Cabbage get to the cup final anyhoo.
-
I'd love to see the Penny Dainties usurp Der H*n and the diets for third.
Question.
Say the JJs win the treble, does the third Fairs Cup place go to the cup runners up or fourth in the league?
-
She looks a wee bit scary.......like she'd cut you up if you hit the vinegars too early or she'd keep a gun under the pillow to be utilised in the event of flaccidity.
You'd need to, but I reckon there'd be a sigh of relief nae canny once a'thing was done and dusted.

Seems to be a consistently bad football manager does "Ownie", seems to have gotten job after job on the back of a wee hotter at Burnley a number of years ago.
Did he nae KB raselickbyrawaybutbigman at one point?

Seem to remember Motherwell beat us that day, Willie Pettigrew ?
The cup doesn't seem to be as big a deal nowadays both North & South of the border, mabye partly down to no Euro place ?
Bobby Graham.
I was blubbing at the end
-
Lucky, lucky Sevco.
-
McLeish being mentioned.
Last I heard he was on the piss.
Looking at him on TV the now, he's certainly got a peever's coupon these days.
Fit did him and Winker Watson fa' oot aboot?

St's are part of the problem, but theres more to it than that.My first memory of a SC game was during Bonthrones era.We were getting crowds around 10,000 in '74/75 for home games prior to the SC game v Motherwell, but got 24,000 for that one.
League crowds are probably a bitty more now,but weve struggled to get 10,000 for some SC games.Theyre down at most other clubs too
I mind that game. The cup was a much bigger deal then, also, we'd put out Deadco and the Joooot in the previous rounds.
-
Saying that, our home SC crowds have dived over the years for some reason
It's down to season tickets.
Folk have got out of the habit of shelling out on a week by week basis.
Add to that, any time we get a home tie that's remotely tasty, it's moved to a half arsed kick off time/day.
-
Caught a wee bit of Sportsound, specifically Ayr v Clyde.
I dinna know if Clyde were just wearing particularly unflattering shirts, by by fuck they had some porky looking chiels playing for them.
-
And I got the pie girls number
Cmon sneckie..up yer game.
At my time of life, the pie is defo a higher priority!!

What I canna understand is how few County had, sub 2000 was it?
This tournament is half of their (and our) shot at actually winning summat.
I understand there's a season ticket culture these days, and with cup ties nae being on it, there's an extra shell-out for the game.
But it's nae like it was Queens Park or the like in the first round, this was a home game against a big side (a side that they have a terrific record against at home) for a 1/4 final place.
If I was a County fan, I'd be well disappointed with that turn out.
-
Edit: Those haggis pies were ace
Cunt.
-
Well that's a lesson for you Sneckie min.
It was you who told everyone to buy one.
Aye, that's what you get I suppose.
The lassie on the pie stall actually said " We always sell heaps of them and we never get enough in when Aberdeen are here".
Ach the macaroni pie was OK.
-
Well, we're through and sounded like we thoroughly deserved it! Nice home tie in the next round please! Looking forward to seeing the Logan pile driver
Dominated the game without ever creating enough.
Thought it would be a typical County game with us being suckered but instead Shay popped up with his left peg curler.
Cracking bounce at the goal, Bg Ash had a right good game.
BITTERLY disappointed that the haggis pies had gone by the time I got to the front of the Q.
Quarter Final crowd prediction ?

The Harry Wraggs always seem to carry a respectable away support, sad thing is, these days they seem to have a ceiling of circa 2-2.5 K for home games.
I recall back in the day they had a massive "sleeping" support, but that seems to have gone for burton.
I guess a lot down to the shifting demographic of the locality in which they're based.
