  1. Sad news indeed.

Hung out with Pete many times, semi regularly back in the day, but our paths hadn't crossed in a while.

Top bloke, chilled, funny, glass-half-full, music freak.

I recall many a meeting ended with me leaving with a CD he'd burned, he seemed to carry a stash of such CDs to hand out as he felt appropriate.

Original amongst the "hoors and radges" from the days of the auld, official AFC chat.

I'm sure he's out there someplace nursing a nice Merlot, musing on the vagaries of it all.

Dunno if Stooge looks in here at all but if he is/does, thoughts are with you and yours pal.

    RIP Pete.

  2. I don't think we're looking at Noel Whelen having his Beemer nicked after an attempted coked up threesome in a west end hotel level of debauchery.

Proper mannie's fitba player night oot, yon.

The type o' thing Joey Harper would've got up to.....except wi a Capri instead o' a Beemer.........Babycham instead o' charlie and the Dee Motel instead o' some West End wye o' deein'.

  3.

    Was it 1985?

Seem to remember 2 Hampden games in a row for some reason.

We played at Hampden 84, 1-1 McGhee, then again in 85, 1-0 Gough.

The 85 game was supposed to be at Wembley but it was switched to Hampden as the Government had "security concerns" about it going on at Wenbley. This was the time when crowd trouble was the order of the day (a week or so before Heysel as I recall it) and Thatcher and co didn't want it kicking off in that London.

As I recall the chant at Hampden was "Dennis Thatcher's wife's a hoor".

  4. How can May turn this into a positive?

Because Corbyn's a terrorist sympathiser, do keep up.

You'll be able to read all about it in the Daily Mail........after, what, two or three days mourning.

  5. Was indeed Charlie's last game for us. And yes his return to the Dhims had been announced a few weeks earlier.

And he stuck away the penalty with aplomb.

Charlie was a born and bred Weegie who was raselickbyrawaybutbigman from his Mother's milk.

Ryan Jack is a local loon and our club captain.

If he goes to Sevco there is no ill too extreme for what I would wish on him.

It needs to be clarified publicly now and Del needs to name hs cup final side accordingly.

If Jack is going to Sevco he should not be in the same postcode as Hampden on Saturday.

If he's not going to Sevco, say so now and let us get on with the build up.

  6. One for the aul buggers who may remember, Geoffrey Bayldon of Catweazle and Worzel Gummidge fame but had a long career in film and tv, deid at 93.  Pretty decent innings that.

    "Summon thy telling bone"

  7. Well I have no idea whatsoever or facts or (my wife knows such and such) evidence that a referee supports any team of any type or name.  No idea.

But given referees are normal football fans underneath it all, like a bloke that cleans streets and have interest in the game of football and anyone that follows football likes a team its possibly fair to say that they all have a team outside of the impartiality that have on a field?

Liam McLeod (Sportscene commentator is massive Dandy, so is Richard Gordon, so is Rob McLean so is Michael Grant (Herald) - it does not mean that are biased in words, actions or views.

And given Aberdeen are a big team its probably fair to say some refs will like Aberdeen?  No? I can think of 3 or 4 Premier League referees from the past who came from Aberdeen?

Rob McLean is a Ross County fan. He hales from Invergordon or thereabouts.

  8. I just aint interested in any of that european fitbaw.

I think i have a problem only being interested in Aberdeen and Scotland.

Nae interested either, but this directly affects us do I'm keeping an eye oot.

  9. Absolute, utter gutter nonsense.

Hearts and Hibs (as clubs) have no affiliation to sectarianism whatsoever.  The only clubs who have proven affiliation to sectarianism are Celtic and Rangers due to the Northern Ireland questions and the historical traditions of the clubs.

It is utter tripe, narrow minded anti Glasgow bias and parochial trash (typical of many Aberdonians - and I know as I am an Aberdonian) to make a song and dance about a toss of a coin over who gets what end at Hampden for the 2017 final.

    Absolute, clap trap garbage.

The club are approaching the first final since 2000 and people want to make a case for the end we will occupy at hampden.

    What a load of garbage.

And as for 'car parking' what a shower of lazy idiots.  All you have to do is do a quick 5 minute search on internet and there are litterly hundreds of places to park within 10 mins of Hampden. I found one on Saturday on Aitkenhead Road.

    Go get a life man.

I really think you're wilfully missing the point here and I can't be fucked discoursing any further.

  10. Bollocks min.

ALWAYS want the hun to lose.

Anyway, which side do you reckon Christie will want to win the cup?

If ( god forbid) we lose the final, he'll be in the Tims dressing room drinking champagne.

Serious question, if as now looks certain we're playing the JJs in the final, do we want Christie around our training in the run up?

Another question, if Christie hangs around fr the remainder of his loan, will he end up with winner and runners up medals in both the League and the Scottish Cup?

Nae sure how many games he'd have to play to get them.

  11. It's mental that in 2017 areas of the ground are allocated on the basis of this perceived crap.

Surely with Hibs coming from Embra it'd be easier for them to come off the M8 and through the south side, Shawlands way taking them into the Mount Florida end?

Ditto, for us coming from North of Glasgow it's easier to come off at the "Carlisle" bit, M73/M74 whatever, then come in  the Rutherglen/Torryglen side?

I'm sure not a Hibee in the world would've bothered their arse about being in the "orange" end yesterday.

You just despair of this wee country sometimes.
