  1. I dont think Warnock being here was an inevitable embarassment,....people had made up their minds about him before he started. He chopped and changed to find a side that got results,so we had to allow a few dodgy results in the process.Quickly dropped the slackers/luxuries,done as good as expected with the current resources IMO.I'm almost curious to see what he could have done longer term

  2. We didnt lose because Saints parked the bus. They were much brighter going forward compared to our laborious build up.Think our issues are as much a personnel problem than managerial.Clarkson needs dropped, nae sure why Jonny was on the pitch. Not much we can change defence wise.

Looks a bit twitchy arse til the end of the season unless Warnock pulls something out the bag.....

Hard to believe where were at after the optimism at the start of the season...

  3. Had the pleasure of not watching the Dons today, and headed up to the Peterhead/City game with my N'bour.Thought City probably the better of the 2 sides.Good defensively, and their number 4 and 9 stood out for me.

Having watched a few highland league games recently,I thought the standard was a couple of notches up from H/L level

Good bounce with the city Ultras after their goal

Being an old git think music finished in 1969...but was reading the Guardian's over-by-over on the India v England test match (the English were getting absolutely mullered!) and somebody posted this and just thought the video was terrific and the song's pretty good too.

Saw her first a few years ago on 'Tiny Desk'. Grown up a bit since then...

  5. Willie Miller called it a fabulous game.Incident packed maybe, absorbing, but quite a frustrating watch a lot of the time from our point of view.A bit disjointed, with not very bright individual decision making at times. As said,Duk was frustrating, needs to be more direct and cut the faff out.Might be worth persisitng with, if we allow for ring rustyness.Clarksons been a bit of a luxury the last few games, but Hoilett looked ok when he took his place.

Hoping Warnock has more up his sleeve to get more out of what we have

ps Very healthy crowd, assuming there was a kids day out thing in the RDS

  6. Scottish cup ties against so called minnows are no marker for progress,so this game cd be interesting in terms of attitude or ideas.

Wells form has been a bit hot and cold recently, hard to know what to expect,but...

    Mainer

    Prediction - 2 - 1 Don's. Miovski, McGrath

  7. Well taken goals fae Bojan, some of the fringe players not showing enough to merit a regular start though, and showing how light and imbalanced our squad is.A cup wins a win like.A look back at some McInnes results early rounds .1 - 0 win at home v Dumbarton(2019),a 1 - 1 draw at home v Stenny(2018),nuff said

Interesting to see how we shape up v a known quantity,Motherwell on Wednesday

Aberdeen interim manager Neil Warnock tells BBC Scotland: "I thought the fans were super. It was a cold day but, as I said to the lads, these kind of cup games you’ve just got to get through and into the hat.

"It's a clean sheet and I’ve had a look at some lads I have not seen much of since I’ve been here. There were some hair-raising moments but, overall, I was quite pleased with it.

"I knew we could get Bojan [Miovski] in some good positions and he took his goals well again – he worked his socks off, as did Shayden [Morris]. Little bit stretched in midfield.

"At the back, they kept a clean sheet, and the young goalie [Ross Doohan] did well as well. It was a good day."

  8. What crowd would we normally get for a game like this? 7/8000? If my calculations are correct, and with STs not valid,it looks like less than 5000 tickets left for sale? That canna be right, .....someone else want to hae a gander?

Saying that,my n'bour who hasnt been to Pittodrie for a few years is heading along,..and coming with me to the 'Well game in midweek,so who knows??

     Oot - working up North

    Prediction 0 - 3 Bonnyrigg

  9. Thought we were pretty poor, but Warnock saw some positives.....

Aberdeen manager Neil Warnock tells BBC Scotland: "I thought the application was excellent. To go a goal down early on, a lot of teams might have crumbled but I thought we hung in there. I thought we grew into the game, to get the goal like we did was a real plus. I felt we were rushing a bit, playing the occasion and not calming down but I thought we did that as the game moved on.

"I have been in the game a long time but we didn't really know what to expect having only seen the players for a couple of days. They have answered all the questions. It is my kind of club, the fans were fabulous and the players have given me everything. I am looking forward to the challenge.

"They are all putting a shift in now. some of the lads who have got away with one in the last 12 months are having to work a little bit harder now.

"I think we can give any team a game. We have played the top three three times now let's try and make sure we play them again.

"The lads have set the standard tonight and I think they can raise that. I am pleased with everything they have done tonight. We are disappointed because I think we were close to an equaliser."

On Bojan Miovski: "I think he will get 30 before the end of the season. I think they will be queuing up for him. He works harder than people think which is unusual for a striker.

On Scottish football: "It is a breath of fresh air, you can't put that desire into people and that was in there.

"I don't think I have ever seen a referee in England go to the screen and stick with his decision, what a good thing to do. I thought he had a good game tonight.

"The fans got really behind us. As a supporter you can't ask any more if the lads give everything. I was pleased and I think the fans will be.

  10. Wasnt aware of Peter Leven before Saturday if I'm honest, but he showed more managerial clout than weve seen most of the season. So along with Warnocks limited input, fairly confident we'll work out a good way to play this game. Not overly confident of a win,but of a decent showing at the least

    Oot

    Prediction 2 - 2 Miovski brace

"I applied for the Hearts job, and they gave it to some bloke from bloody Latvia or something, so that was an insult".

Found that pretty cringey to be honest. Maybe cos it was actually Lithuania and I used to live with a Lithuanian, and I reckon they can manage a football team just as well as the English.

Nae sure if youre being tongue in cheek, but pretty sure he was.

Much as I wanted Barry to succeed, listening to that Warnock interview was a breath of fresh air in comparison.Confident,no waffle, and a bit of fun,....why not just roll with it while it lasts....

Can I suggest comedy clubs if you want a laugh rather than us employing a lower league manager like Warnock’ for his banter filled press conferences.

A break from the usual Scottish merry go round for a few months would be welcome IMO. Agree with Orlando above.I like Cormack too, still relatively green in football Chairmanship terms.Making mistakes, but not afraid to try,so the stick he gets is a bit OTT,he's about as good as we can ask for compared to folk that currently or want to run a club

Neil is my current choice, not sure he's interested though. One of those Scandinavians if not...Knutsen,Thelin etc

  13. Am not averse to the idea now.Might get a laugh for a few months,...he might help sort out upstairs while hes at it.As long as we're stll looking or have someone in mind for next season
