  1. Saints werent that stuffy that we couldnt have got more out of the game with more drive and imagination.Keskinen was less involved than expected, maybe would have been worth starting with Polvara as suggested, who looked good when he came on,as did Dabbagh,McGrath and even Gueye. As Dan said,we didnt look up for it enough with whats at stake...

Don’t agree, I thought we played very well. You have to factor we were playing the on form team who have beaten Celtic and rangers, plus hearts and united, on their run too. Oh, and us. Not sure we could have done more. We were suspect from crosses/corners as usual and they had 3 headers they could have scored, but we dominated possession, created chances, were defensively solid, and did a good job keeping Boyle quiet.

morris is back to me thinking he’s our super sub, and gueye is not quick thinking enough. Both good to bring off the bench. I’d start okkels and McGrath next week, but with those two not here next year, I feel these are two legit ā€˜must’ signings this summer. Our main priority for sure, provided we sign nisbet!

its a palaversa polvara dilemma for me. Clarkson is playing well and deserves to start. Palaversa isn’t playing badly, covers a lot of ground, and sits in. Does a defensive job. Although Clarkson is deep too and has done more recently defensively. Polvara definitely offers drive from midfield and is much more attack minded. Another good performance yesterday. Think he scored a similar goal against hibs last year too, was unlucky with his well worked chance. Is jimmy brave enough to go with Clarkson and polvara next week?

Clarkson and Polvara v a brutal side like St mirren? Might be worth a try see how it pans out,but....Ā

  3. Just back, decent game, great result.Thought we were the better side first half, with Hibs the better chances to be fair. Gueye and Morris deserved to be subbed early second half, both werent doing enough. Was looking like a 0 - 0 draw was on the cards til Nisbets wonder strike.

Ā  Ā Good performances from Shinnie,Clarkson and Topi, and Knoesters had another fine game, always seems to be in the right place.Saying that,I think we can get more out of what weve got if we pick up the tempo a bit,and use a bit more imagination coming forward.

Ā  Ā Still think Hibs might nick it at the end,but result keeps the season rolling a bit longer

  4. InĀ  -Ā  Section Y, thought this might sell out,but plenty tickets left...

Ā Potentially a fine open game.Hibs a wee bit of a bogey team at present, need more composure with the ball, less disjointed in attack than Saturday. Might start with Papa Gueye, handy for a goal recently ,but switch earlyish for Polvara if out of sorts.Devlin deserve a shot back in?

    Ā Prediction 2 - 1 Dons Gueye,ClarksonĀ

    Ā Ā

  5. ^^Agree, think the clubs that have left are the only ones you'd think could make it work in the lower Scottish leagues, maybe add Fraserburgh to that list, otherwise your Broras,Buckies ...etc surely not worth the hassle

  6. OotĀ

Might be the type of game that suits Gueye,if he decides he's up for it.Otherwise hook him early if he reverts to recent type and let Dabbagh run at them.Lot of folks seem to be confident about this one,I rarely am in this fixture but Ill fake optimism and say...

    2 - 1 Dons Nisbet,Morris

    Utterly pointless stat.

Hearts are the designated home team for the semi, and they don't usually allow maroon & red to be worn together (even though they likely wouldn't clash), so safe to say we'll be in either the black & gold, or the granite strip.

Aberdeen have - at least as far as I am aware - never won a semi-final at Hampden wearing their away strip.

1994 SC semi: Drew 1-1 with Dundee United at Hampden (conceded last minute). In the replay, this time we were back in the red while United wore their away strip, but we lost 1-0.

1996 SC semi: Lost 2-1 to Hearts (both teams wore away strips).

2008 LC semi: Lost 4-1 to Dundee United (was at Tynecastle rather than Hampden).

2018 SC semi: Lost 3-0 to Motherwell at Hampden wearing a blue kit.

So the question is, have we ever won a semi (or final) at Hampden wearing an away strip?

    Ā

It should be said - we have won at least one semi-final in an away strip. In 1947 we beat Hearts at Easter Road in the League Cup semi, while wearing an unusual blue top with white sleeves.
