Lads in their 20s and early 30s have a quiet pint/juice/whatever together and unfortunately pick up a deadly virus. They're nae premiership superstars who need their every single move scrutinised to within an inch. Just a case of wrong place, wrong time. I expect it'll be the same for a lot of folk. I went for a round of golf at one of the infected golf courses. Had it been a few days later I could have been down with the vid too. If I'd been 20, I'd have had it 48 times by now. Hopefully it'll allow us and other clubs to implement a better set of rules for their players going forward. Live and learn etc.

in normal circumstances that would be the case. Going out after a shite performance against the hun would attract the usual comments and then we would all get on with life.

However, the guidelines that were put in place to allow football to return and be played are much stricter than the usual club guidelines. For 8 players to ignore these guidelines is inexcusable, indefensible and utterly astounding.

  2. Was watching the Dunfermline v Dundee game last night and thought the boy Nisbet looked a decent player.  I think he was with Thistle as a loon and tipped for big things which never really happened, dropped down a bit and has been rebuilding his career at Dunfermline, maybe a touch of the Shanklands about him in that he didn't put the effort in as a youngster and is taking his second chance.

Hard to judge as Dundee were pretty gash, but I would like to think we are at least keeping tabs on players like this.

Dunfermline was my first ever away game, a drab 0-0 Scottish Cup game back in January 1989 and I remember asking my Brother where the toilets were and he pointed me over to the wall around the terracing  :D

it was actually subject of much rumor from people within East End Park at the end of last year that we sniffing around Nisbett, not sure if that interest has cooled. Will need to check into that one.

  3. He was very shite for most of last season. Disinterested and unable to play as part of a team. "He could turn out to be amazing/there's a player in there somewhere" is a very risky strategy for what would be a high earner in such a vital position for us. It might work, but I have a feeling that it won't. In the two half decent - and that's all they were - games he had for us toward the end of the season, he still very much looked like a player that didn't know his position and didn't know his teammates. That could just be through lack of game time towards the end of the season, but it didn't look that way - he just didn't look like a particularly intelligent footballer. The biggest problem is that even with Cosgrove and Main, I still think we're short of a good striker. We've already got wastage in that area with May, we really can't afford more. I'd have been far happier we took a punt on someone else as I don't think Wilson improves our first 11 - at best he'll be a useful addition from the bench in 1 in 5 games. He got a lot of game time last season and was generally less useful than Stevie May. Imagine we'd just had Stevie May on loan last season and we were now trying to get him on a permanent deal. That's about the right level of underwhelming.

Cosgrove, Main, May, Wilson. You just know that there's going to be players stuck out in wide positions that don't fit their style of play just to accommodate them (Ref: Stewart, Aberdeen).

I've always felt that a striker needs to play, you're never going to get the best out of a forward if they only ever see the arse end of 15 minutes a game.

  4. Mark O'Hara rumor.

Going on the assumption that the ugly sisters would have far more money to spunk on players than O'Hara, then that only leaves us or Killie, or at least so this article goes on to surmise.

"Peterborough United owner Darragh MacAnthony has confirmed that a ‘top 4’ SPFL side are interested in United midfielder Mark O’Hara.

The Scotsman moved to the Posh last year after a fruitful spell with Dundee. It hasn’t quite worked for him though, with the Weston Homes Stadium side farming him out to Lincoln City on loan for a spell.

O’Hara is wanted by a top four SPFL club according to the Posh chairman.

Now owner MacAnthony has confirmed Scottish interest in him. Responding to a fan on Twitter, he said: “Lincoln want him but need to raise funds to do deal & SPFL club also now in for him… top 4 club”"

  5. McKenna looked to me as though he was playing zonal. Quite often appeared to be isolated in the middle not marking anyone and seemed quite happy to let players drift off him and end up being picked up by somebody else (mainly).

Didn't think he looked very comfortable at any point while I was watching it.

  6. Every time I see them away in Europe it's pishing of rain

Barry Town and some Spanish mob

Barry Town was possibly the wettest that I've ended up being at a game of footie.

I'd only popped out for a couple of pints the previous night and found myself on a coach to Wales. Had to phone in sick to work from a service station.

  7. I've been told both Rangers and Celtic are interested in him. No clickbait here.

He's a decent LB, certainly a decent SPFL left back. Having just signed a new Derby contract before coming to us on loan, he'll cost a few quid if anyone wants to buy him, which would rule us well and truly out.

  8. What's the verdict from the fans then? Is AberDNA a success? Failure? Jury still out?

All I know is that, for whatever the reasons may be, we've have the worst two transfer windows for years. I would've expected better without the added boost of the DNA cash. McInnes must take responsibility although I appreciate that players will dick clubs about something hellish and when you're in our position you maybe don't have the luxury of dishing out ultimatums here, there and everywhere (and burning bridges in the process) but we need to find some middle ground.

As it stands I've cancelled my DNA subscription and am unlikely to renew my season ticket. Even if the club was being run superbly like a well oiled machine what's the point when the referees are so inept that they take the competition out the matches with their abject dos cuntery.  :hammer:

I'd look at that question from the other side and ask all of the folk that threw their toys out of the pram about the whole DNA philosophy, just how much of a negative impact did it have on non-DNA members.

  9. It was a sore one. Especially since I think Holland were the better team. Certainly kept Neuer busy (as you'd maybe expect for a Holland team playing at home.) Germany started quickly but as soon as they went two up Holland became the better team for the remainder of the game and were unlucky not to go in at half time with reduced or even no arrears. Babbel lacking a little bit of quality in front of goal. Going for the late winner in the way that they did (and probably have to do at home) left them open at the back and they paid the price. A very disappointing night all things considered. Although I do feel that Dutch football has improved vastly from the previous two qualifying campaigns. A young team with some real quality who I'm sure will only improve. Memphis may be an obnoxious bell end but by fuck he's exciting to watch on the football pitch. Just like Arjen Robben.

was surprised to see so many empty seats at that game. Holland vrs Germany obviously doesn't quite have the same meaning to the supporters as it once did, although that may well be something that can be leveled at international fixtures in general I suppose.

  10. Ticket sales weren't great before the game on Wednesday, not sure how they will fare after it.  It wouldn't surprise me to see a number of those blue cunts in the home ends.

Has there been any news yet on Lowe?

3171 tickets left, so not as bad as might have been expected, the fact its on that Premier Sports cunts probably helps get a few of the Sky or BT sports stay at homers through the gate.

  11. Wifie pundits don't bother me in the slightest, generally because I only watch the moments between the whistle for kick off and the halftime/fulltime one.

I don't need some (generally) Manc or Scouse fucknut trying to make the latest offering of some shite overrated pish sound exciting and quite frankly the opinions of an ex-player, be that male or female make no difference to my enjoyment, or lack of, in a game.

It did strike me that the wifies that Sky have parachuted into their studios do seem to sound even more irritating than the blokes they have.

  12. E There seems to be a section of our support who are blinded by an absurd hatred of Ball. I suggest this is more due to their lack of knowledge and also lack of insight into our financial situation.

I would argue that a section of support have a hatred of Ball because they've witnessed him making an absolute cunt of it too many times.

  13. I call it out as shyte

    I want to agree.

Looking at the various "news" outlets on Newsnow, the only talk of this being a possibility is from celtic based websites who have as much insider knowledge as most folk on here.

I'd be fucking furious if we did sell our "prize asset" to a rival as well.

  14. McCormack to Motherwell

McCormack, had a decent loan spell with Melbourne in the A-League, but this is the boy that kept failing to turn up for training at Villa, locked himself in his house and couldn't get out being one excuse if I remember correctly.

He'll swan back into Motherwell like billy big balls, thinking he's better than everyone else.

File him in the same manila folder as Tony Watt.

  15. Ffs. Defoe will be an ace signing for them

I'm not convinced. he may look the part against shite like Dundee, but those are games the huns will win regardless. It's the bigger, more competitive games they need to strengthen for.

The huns have speculated on plenty of old players in the past and not exactly seen much return for them, Kranjcar, Barton, Clint Hill, Alves, Senderos...
