  1. Chalmers is up for sale as well.

Used to live next door to the baker on Chapel Street, that was pretty good. Something something Ross I think it was called.

AJ or JG Ross I think, Used to go there for my dinner and t break piece when I worked in the garage at the top of the road.

Another baker I can think of is Strathdee.

  2. I will be filing a planning application for an erection in her ladygarden asap

Have a Simmie for that een

She looks a right sour faced cunt, she would be the type that demanded it her way anfd her way would be missionary while she shouted out instructions , I'd be a bit feart but I would still give it a bash.  :gonk:

  3. Do you consider that to be a reliable source of anything?

In the early days AFC chat a rumour started that the Dons were going to sign Gabriel Batistuta thanks to an Oil Company (or 2) bankrolling his wages. I believe the boy who started that one actually got charged with some early internet crime.

Evidence would be say a letter or email from a council official. You could also even consider a story in the P&J

Someone posting on facebook or AFC Chat is the modern day equivalent of 'My mate heard from a guy in the pub that....'

Heard fit???....... heard fit???..... Dinna keep us hanging :P

  4. Agree on Bono but surprised you say The Clash. For a start, they weren't punks. They had musical talent and whilst their first album was of the era, White Riot and Career Opportunities had classic catchy beats more found in pop than punk. Beyond their first LP, they grew into a classic soul sound but highly original and innovative. They stood the test of time and I can listen to them yet. As I can with the Pistols and The Damned. EMI and Neat Neat Neat are as good today as they were 40 years ago.

Strummer was misunderstood because he never fitted any genre. I thought he was a bit mixed up and a bit of a dick but The Ice Age is coming, Vacuum cleaner sucks up budgie, you're fretting, you're sweating... ain't getting anywhere, it ain't Coca Cola, it's rice - he hit parts of us that only he could. A genius composer for me.

I agree with the clash being overrated but disagree with U2, saw them a few months ago and was blown away (again) It's all subjective, each to their own, one mans food is another mans poison etc etc.

  5. I know lists of stuff are really no gauge on a film, song etc, but just saw this on the BBC website. A top 100 list of film comedies. No place for See No Evil, Hear No Evil... just marks this top 100 out for the crock of shite it is.

Some right shite in that 100......some like it hot number 1  :o Haven't seen it in a while but sure I never laughed once........Life of Brian for me.

  6. Exactly, it's embarrassing sitting in a dump of a stadium that's falling down around us that's only half full. I'd rather sit in a half full stadium that's shinny and new, with the proper facilities and decent acoustics.

  7. Hysterical pish.

Latest rumor I saw on another forum was that papers were reporting Lewis had cups of pish thrown at him. If that's true, that's fucking vile and they deserve a ban, even if we don't get another chance and their next opposition get a bye.

  8. It may depend how much they take from the BDO pot, if they get a sizeable amount from that they may not pursue the individuals, a number of whom are now likely not to be in the country... (big Eck on his way to Switzerland as we speak, no doubt..)

It does mean that the "ordinary" creditors will receive even less of a settlement, which they've been waiting years for too. Some of them may have even gone out of business themselves as a result.  Really is pretty shit for them.

Wont somebody think of the poor facepainter! :gonk:

  9.

Him leaving I can understand, his strengthening a team that is already head and shoulders above us is harder to take.

Fuck me, less than a week after we lost the cup final and we're looking pretty threadbare now.

It's not just the loss of the players on the pitch, it's the momentous shift in camaraderie that worries me. One thing that we appeared to have was a dressing room that really gelled, that's hard to replicate.

This closed season is pissing me off no end, already had some big players leaving at the end of contracts, a once strong team that has taken years to build, is getting taken apart in a few days. Doesn't help when Timothy do the old If anyone challenges you buy their best players and put them on the bench routine.

Why are the infirm buying all these players while we fanny about on holiday? Surely some transfer action the other way to sell season tickets would be a good thing?

  10. Haha some of the tweets are hysterical, they think they have signed some sort of Iniesta

Some classic comments including  "Announce shinnie tae."

Mind you at least they are getting in quick and signing players (god knows where the moneys coming from)  As usual we shut up shop and fuck off on holidays for the next month.
